    •  5 ปีที่แล้ว

@@okboomer6201 Generally spekkin, here at Petey's place you only hear about how great a long trade it is when it's about to crash n burn again. Here's my "live!!" call on GDX long today:
      Joe Justjoe
10:16 AM precious metals update: Both GDX and the HUI are signaling short term buy. GDX trading "live!" at 20.70 with the nearest upside target at 21.00. The price on weekly call options to $21 don't make the trade worth the risk. Plus some individual tickers still have left target lows. I would be alot more intrusted in a GDX long if it trades sub 19.90 though
That woulda been a 100% gain in a few hours if I actually stepped up. But since GDX signaled sell late in the day...no biggie. I'm confidunt I can try again from a loooower level. Chime in with your "guess" on when to buy JNUG calls whenst the mood suits you. As always, I don't expect to hear from you again. That is also the "norm" from the sheeple spewing here at Petey's place.

    •  5 ปีที่แล้ว

@soup and old clothes You are about to be "silenced" if you are still pumpfing a long position in the markets at this juncture as a "win." Don't end up like the locals who were "WOOOHOOOOO!!n" JNUG when it was up at like $12 a few weeks ago. Those clowns now loooong gone...but stil praying I'm sure. Again, if you are one of those sheeple and lemmings and things turn decidedly werser yet...it wasn't your fault. You were simply "manipulated." >>> :-(

    •  5 ปีที่แล้ว

@@okboomer6201 If you already play options then why not just concentrate on plays that the market itself has told you are all but a 100% certainty. Look at F stock. It is up at 9.60 and the market already told you that the 9.30 low set on Tue is going to go bye bye. To make a bet that it happens by 5/17/19 now costs you .25 centavos...and it will get slightly cheeper yet. So do the math >>> 9.50 target minus the cost of the option (.25) means F only needs to see 9.25 by 5/17 for you to break even on the trade. The market already says it sees 9.30. So tell me how this is a losing trade. Oh, got it...you don't think F stock sees 9.25 by 5/17/19. Then get to fukk out of the options trading bidness! ha!

If this was a "house of cards" economy, then the earnings per share would have collapsed during 2008, and never recovered (a house of cards cannot reconstruct itself). Why is the real estate bubble regarded as a good thing? When the market tried to correct, the PTB reinflated it. The result is extortionate prices for housing, a human atrocity. The building codes, etc. make it impossible for ordinary people to provide shelter for themselves. We got the equivalent of the population of an entire state who are destitute because shelter is a pecking order, lethal to the one on the bottom, who is always replaced by another victim. Why would anyone in their right mind lend Uncle Sam a dime? He's a deadbeat credit junkie. Already our laws are warped out of shape by economic interests. At this rate, they will bring back debtor's prison. All they need to do is expand the deadbeat dad laws. We need to revisit just how sacred property is. If you never celebrate the jubilee, YOU wind up the property. If you were on a lifeboat, would you tolerate a self appointed big shot cornering the rations? This property thing needs some limitations so it does not consume the human community.

Not to take away from Peter's message, but I need to point out that making the assumption that "this time it's different" is just as risky as the assumption that fundamentals haven't changed. While I agree that fundamentals haven't changed (debt load, employment, etc), the fact is that many have changed, and the classic metrics are not going to have the same predictive power as before. 2019 is not 2008. This isn't to say Trump is doing what is best for 2019. Far from it. But pointing to 2008 fundamentals and saying "those are good predictors of 2020/2021" is flawed in the same way that forecasters were wrong to say things were great in 2007.

However, we pay Federal Income Tax. I have seen with my own eyes the evil nature of the strip, how thousands of people gamble away there life savings and every cent they've earned. The strip only exists because capitalism allows it too. Las Vegas wasn't built on winners, that's for sure. Another sad aspect of Las Vegas is the homelessness and extreme poverty the strip creates. Because the state charges no income tax the roads and infrastructure in and around the city are falling apart or are completely ruined. Heroin needles litter our roads, drugged out meth and dope addicts squat all over the city. Capitalism allows this to happen. A little history for you...The Great Depression paved the way for legalized gambling here in Las Vegas. America was once a third world country during the Great Depression. It wasn't until FDR initiated Socialized programs that the nation and Las Vegas came out of the Great Depression. Remember Capitalism allows the strip here in Las Vegas to exists. I watch everyday the strip grow bigger and bigger. It's a scary place to live here.

I wonder what America would look like if the government was smaller and interest rates are high.
I think that we would have a real economy. Where only businesses that use resources that return profits only exist. Money that is borrowed is borrowed for a calculated means to grow, otherwise, money wouldn’t be borrowed.
What I think of currently is all these 0 profit IPOs that are coming out. They exist only cause of cheap money and really shouldn’t exist.
I would like to see banks paying high interest to savers and that money loaned out to businesses that actually provide service or products that justify a loan for a profit. Whereas that profit pays back to banks which in turn pays back the savers.
I would personally love to see money only printed for the of replacing old and worn currency.
Also, I would love to see social security go away and Medicare. I mean just about anything that allows government to take capital from me that I can invest myself.
Personally, I can’t retire from the social security that’s taken from me. 30 years for me would come out to 100k in social security and in 30 years who knows what inflation will mean for that amount.
There’s too much to list for this one comment, however, Peter... you speak exactly what the issue is and you continue to point out the issue. As of today, we have the SPX hitting new highs and I believe that’s based on the same old borrowed money order leveraged businesses, and cheap money.
The simple way to fix this problem. We need 100% capitalism and small government. The economy will bleed from the addiction to cheap money. However, the markets, the free capital markets can fix it.
If I had to imagine what money would look like in today’s economy. It would be dollar bills printed with actual gold or silver on them. People would value the bills more and a new dollar couldn’t be created without gold or silver value.

Remember, Peter has recently stated SPECIFICALLY that the US will be in a depression equal to or greater that 1929 by 2020 (deja vu...he said that 2 years ago, and 2 years before that). Now he is already trying to back track. Lets hold him to his original prediction. He will either be absolutely right, or absolutely wrong. And besides, recessions are not unusual, and are necessary corrections (cures) to economic mis-allocations, not signs of the apocalypse.

"When cash is available, however, cutting rates significantly into negative territory becomes impossible. Without cash, depositors would have to pay the negative interest rate to keep their money with the bank, making consumption and investment more attractive. ." what is gold?

Anyone can be as good as Schiff, here’s how:
    1) Look at everything through Skeptic Goggles.
    2) Identify the negatives of national debt, QE, and an oversized government. (Most business people will agree).
    3) Predict a crash, without any specific dates. Something like this, “the economy will crash.”
If you keep saying those things, eventually you can say you were right.

    • @WILSON.1
      @WILSON.1 5 ปีที่แล้ว

Justin Woodall Has Peter Schiff ever identified his “perfect” economy? I’ve been listening to him for years. Every speech ends with something about protecting yourself, and then he talks about how his clients are protected, and if you’re actually at the conference, he then tries to get you as a client. The perfect economy, I suspect, in Peter Schiff’s mind is one in which we have truly limited central government, a totally untampered free market economy, and little to zero government debt, and of course no federal reserve manipulating the money supply. I agree with him there. That would be great, but it’s about as likely as the Socialists giving us everything for free. As long as there are people who do not understand anything about productivity, and people who want to take advantage of those people by stripping them of their freedoms, we will never have a truly free economy unfortunately. Not to mention probably 1/4 of the population who have zero interest in working at all (some still do because they have at least some self respect or perhaps some care of others’ opinions).
