I had already used the gated parking lots/garages but had come across the other ones yet. It looks simple enough. About the parking tower: what if it is unmanned, does it work the same way?
One slight difference at gated parking lots/garages is that you have to pay from your car window, at the exit gate, with cash.
In western countries (or at least in my country), it is customary to go to a payment machine first, and at the exit gate your number plate is recognized you can drive right out (if it isn't recognized, all you have to do is insert your card into the machine from your window). I've also encountered a parking garage where I only have to insert my bank card at the entry gate, and again at the exit gate, and the payment is automatically deducted. That format doesn't seem to exist in Japan, even though most people(?) have a credit card, which would work in the same way as a debt card.

I think an license plate recognition system wouldn't work in Japan due to the amount of charterers on their lettering system.
Think the thing underneath the car is like ticket on a windscreen haha....

I've used the building or provided business parking. Did park on the street once, and had to B.S my way out of a ticket. Most importantly, I am impressed by your presentation!

If you notice all Japanese reverse in to parking space so when leave you drive directly out into the traffic. No having to reverse into traffic. Just makes sense. As you can see Chris has not. Chris has also forgot to say Don't forget to get all your stuff before leaving your car because it cost extra to go back and get your phone, sun glass. Also In most carparks there are car space for only K cars. ( mini cars )

If it is angle parking, yes go with nose in, it's safer for all, if parking in a simple lot, then nose out is the safer position, the police are starting to endorse that method too.

Hi! It depends on what you've planned for your trip and whether or not you want to avoid stopping at toll gates. It's very convenient so we recommend it, but you should also compare the price of the card to the trip you've planned to see if it's advantageous or not 😊

Technically, parking anywhere other than in a designated parking space, is illegal.
You'll see lots of cars parked on the street side, and that's because it's sort of forgiven by the police, especially in quiet areas where there's lots of space (in other words, when your car isn't obstructing anything and not bothering anyone). However, as a foreign visitor, it's best not to do this - it might be harder to know when it's okay, and even then it's still technically illegal, and dealing with the police in Japan can be a real struggle.
