Elegirlo? También elegimos a los políticos que sufrimos y no representan a todos los españoles. A quien elegiríamos de Presidente de la Republica? Que político actual tiene la preparación que el actual Rey ? A Oscar Puente? a Yolanda Diaz? a María Jesús Montero.?

Well, Im republican and Spaniard, however, I prefer the king over these politicians. We have a low level of politicians in Spain. I do not see the spanish politicians to achieve the head of state.

    Spain should keep its King

Spain should keep it. Not because they are great or anything like that, but it's better to have a 4th power. Monarchs look at the country in the long term and politicians, look only in the short term, which usually results in bad decisions.

Already tried two republics in Spanish history. Both were a complete failure since the beggining that led to two civil wars and at the end similar Borbon restorations. Better to keep the Parlamentarian Monarchy.

As someone from a country, that lost its monarchy because of the communists, I want to tell spanish people to love and support their monarchy. Thats is the best possible solution. In my country, 52% of people want monarchy back, but it will sadly not happen any time soon. Why do It think so? Think this way: A president is there just couple of years, and he looks after it, to steal as much as he can and make his future as good as possible, because his kids will never inherit the power in a country. A King looks after his country, so his kids have a good future here. A king has everything, he doesnt need to steal and make people of his country suffer because of his actions.
    VIVO EL REY, VIVA ESPAÑA.

Former king (current king's father) had the country's interest at heart when he took millions offshore, right? Or the queen of England, when she paid victims of s3xu4l 4bus3 by her son to shut them up... did she also have her country's interest at heart? These are not exemplary people, these are people to whom we have given a great amount of power just because they belong to a certain family and they are using that power for their own interest, don't be naive.

I guees your country's context differs from Spain, where the Monarchy was reinstaurated as the last will of a 40 years long fascist dictator

Look, you have a Princess like Leonor who has chosen to sacrifice any personal ambition that she has for sake of the Monarchy. It’s difficult to be in her position, but she still did it anyway cause she’s the eldest. Also, Spain has produced strong female Queens in the past, exported your Infantas to marry various Kings and helped shaped the European royalty. It would be a shame to abolish it especially now that there is Leonor with a very promising future. Also, how about these Spaniards criticise first their thieving and corrupt politicians rather than worry about the expenses of monarchy. Spain will be in a very bad position if they abolish the monarchy.
