Jaguar needed to bring out two new cars. The first could have been a fun and affordable little sportscar. The other one should have been Jaguar's version of a Hellcat. They needed to make Jaguar cars cool, fun and edgy again. Instead, they plan on releasing gay golf carts. The leaper is about to meet the reaper. RIP Jag.
They are supposedly bringing out three cars. At least one of the cars will be priced over $400,000 according to comments from company officials. I don't know how their advertising model gets you to a buyer of a $400,000 car? I guess we will see what they do, but I'm not impressed with their advertising and response to the advertising. Have a blessed day!
Any company who display "woke" attitudes will be avoided by me because every company who go down this path have ended up in financial trouble. A company who are in financial trouble means a company who will not be able to fulfill their long term commitments to service and parts. I will stick with companies who give me the best chance of fulfillment of their promises and guarantees.
About fifty years ago, when I didn't have two cents to rub together, I was hitchhiking and a guy in a Jaguar picked me up. It was an absolutely beautiful car, and the brand doesn't deserve to sent down the toilet like this. The present crew is just a disaster.
Thanks for sharing your story. They were beautiful cars, and even the F-type is an incredibly stylish car. Hopefully Jaguar will redirect with new leadership as it needs it.
I wouldn't worry about the marketing behind any brand on any product to be honest. As long as they keep that stuff off the final product itself then I say just enjoy the product for what it's worth. Life's too short to be worrying about current marketing trends.
Thanks for your share. The car is a great car, and I am sure I will enjoy it. It's disappointing to see the brand blowing up, but that's life, and I am okay with that. Have a blessed day!
Thanks for commenting. This is the world where a Banana duck taped to a wall brings a million dollars. Maybe this is Jaguar's Banana? On another note, I see the value of Jaguar Classics as taking a hit. Jag doubling down will keep me from purchasing an F-type and opting for something else. I'll keep the Vanden Plas, but I am incredibly disappointed with where this is going.
@@KirkTaylorcom honestly, I think they were going for the 60s with the ad. I saw it and immediately thought, "Oh, this is leading to an electric e-type." They just overestimated their audience.
There's reason to believe that given the website showing what appears to be a Tesla Cybertruck styled e-Type of f-Type body. Utilitarian sports car doesn't blend well. I understand why you believe they overestimated their audience, but I believe they missed their audience. Actually, I think they are trying to create a totally new audience that doesn't exist.
yes, I would agree, however, I've owned dozens of Ford built Jags that were great cars, specifically XJ8's and an XJR. Thanks for sharing. Have a blessed day!
Thanks for sharing. If you read the fine print on the Jaguar site, I don't think they are trolling. If they are trolling they went very deep in the fine print in their site. Hopefully you're spot on. Have a blessed day!
First off if you have a classic pay no attention. Saying your going to sell your car is a kin to the WOKE foolishness you are doing it for. Thats a stupid reaction that is childish. Be an adult. As an adult you can appreciate the classic Jag you have. What worked and resonated and still does with people that can think critically vs purely on emotion. The ad in question is terrible. Im gay and i find it horrible. Not worthy of my time. That entire agenda will play out and those involved will find themselves to be marginalized as they should be. They are incorrect and poisonous. Keep the car! Dont buy anything new for Jag until they clean up their act.
I won't sell or damage it, as it is an excellent classic. Despite the company's best efforts to destroy the brand, this car has an incredible ride and character. This vehicle is sentimental to me, as I last drove it in 2002 when my best friend owned it. He passed away, and I acquired it, non-running with the motor frozen for the past fifteen years. We just got it to turn over and tuned it up, and it runs and sounds beautifully. I find it funny when I am lectured and told to be an adult! Thanks for making me laugh. That made my day. Right on the part of not buying another Jag, I was leaning towards acquiring a late-model F-Type hardtop. Just so you know- I will pass for now. Thanks for sharing, and have a blessed day!
I hate to bring this to you... Jaguar wants to sell you a NEW Jag. All automotives harp on about their "heritage" ... Until you rock up at a dealership in a classic Porsche, BMW or Mercedes-Benz for service or parts. Don´t ask me how I know. Dealers and "The Brand" really could not care less about your classic - unless you´re ready to splurge 60K minimum on a new one! Speaking of which - we had an I-pace, traded it after 2 months for an Ioniq EV (of all things) because it was such an awful car. Very pretty, though!
You'd have to find an old man to buy it lets be honest, they tried their hardest over the past decade to appeal to younger people and they still failed, so yeah you owning an old car doesn't matter at all to a company that needs sales. young people do not care about jaguar and old people do not buy enough cars to keep them afloat.
The latest information from them is that the new Jaguar automobiles are at a $400,000 price point. I guess we will see if that works. Thanks for your comments.
Thank you for your comment. I do not like the "woke" movement as I feel it is detrimental to the people it says it is supporting. Additionally, the movement is destroying a brand in order to make a statement that doesn't need to be made. Woke has nothing to do with liking or disliking something, so there are things that I don't like outside of the woke movement. Have a blessed day!
Thanks for the question. It's pretty obvious that they are putting a strong focus on social issues, using it to send a message and expecting it to resonate with automotive enthusiasts. Add to it that they believe that this campaign will appeal to the $400,000 plus price range which is what is rumored to be the new price point of their cars that have yet to be seen.
@@KirkTaylorcom Which social issues? Also the price has nothing to do with any of this 'woke' people can be poor or rich why does that part matter? They are shifting to electric that's all. The campaign and designs are horrible but there is literally nothing 'woke' about it. Also, vibrant colors are woke all of a sudden, this is so funny.
You should sell your Jaguar not because of a silly ad that hurts your sensitivities. I thought it was libs that were supposed to be snowflakes? You should sell it because jags are hot garbage.
Funny thing is the people they are trying to market to don’t even buy cars.
Thanks for sharing. That's what I thought as well.
I would be embarrassed to drive a jaguar
Truly sad

These CEOs next will do is change "J" with "F"
Hopeful they will change the CEO

Everyone needs to dump their jags in protest at forcing political ideology which is illegal.

Agreed. They are marketing to people who don't buy cars.
What a hilarious opinion for old men to share with the internet. Thanks for the laughs, stranger!
Glad you enjoyed it. You're welcome. Have a blessed day!
A single avant-garde teaser ad makes you get rid of your car so you can virtue signal your purity against... '60s revivalism?

Your car predates the Ford era of Jag, and now the tata era. What that company represented then it’s much better than what it does now.

Young people do buy Jaguars - the i-pace was a sellout and it was bought by younger people!
