This statement might make me very odd but this is the coolest car ever! If I had a ton of spare cash this is exactly the type of thing I'd invest it in. Anyone with money can buy a Ferrari but this is so unique but still with bags of power and driveable. Utterly brilliant.

YES! Allegro is as strong as a used chip shop wrapper. You want to fix it so you don't die in it. Screen pillars are not like that now for a reason. I know this because a saw the result of a head-on between two brand new cars, an Allegro and a Mk2 Escort. The Allegro looked as if it had run into a concrete block at 100mph. The engine and steering rack were pushed back and the steering wheel was touching the roof. Right through where the drivers head was. Other than some intrusion into the passenger box by a front wheel the Escort was reasonably intact. I was shocked at the difference between these quite similar family cars when subject to exactly the same forces. An Allegro as built by the factory is a death trap in a collision.
My 8 months old Allegro was written off when rear-ended by a Land Rover on a roundabout. Felt like a fairly gentle shunt, but when I got out and saw the damage I couldn't believe it. They must have been using chineseium, or some other rubbish far eastern steel. Wasn't sorry to see it go.

Coming along nicely Mr Smith
Loving the ideas that are going into this... the dual exhaust is genius.
I love these allegro updates can't wait for it to be finished and see it moving, the temptation to go and see it is there, as its only a few miles from where I live, but I'll keep waiting for the next instalments for that. Great vision Johnny 👍
I'm loving this car. It's great you are going the full hog on this . Can't wait to see it finished
I can't wait to see this complete. great work
The British Leyland swirling whirlpool of doom is the perfect subtle logo for those big brake calipers!
I am sure Mrs Smith is enthralled by his project!
Such a cool build Jonny! So excited for you!
Cheers v much
Imagine the barn find episode from Jonny Jr III in 50 years time seeing the allegro shell and wondering wtf once lifting the bonnet
Hell Yeah!! Love seeing a new video of the sleeper Allegro.
Fantastic project coming along great. Heated windscreen is a great addition, love it in my Panda 4x4 but I wouldn't have the tinted band at the top, I'd have the wheels in BL silver, I also wouldn't have the front fog lights and embrace the poverty spec (also lighter weight like an Elise😂). Looking forward to next episode!
As an FN2 Type R owner, this build makes me very happy Jonny. Adam is an absolute artist. K20 everything! Amen on the exhaust noise, I just swapped mine back to standard now i'm a gent of a certain age 😅
Im just up the rd in woodhall spa, nice to know local businesses do things like this! Cant wait to see it finished!
Nice to see obp parts shout out Tony and the crew ❤
Soo, Johnny...... you're now - tantalisingly - within just a few short years of the project possibly being....I hardly dare even THINK it.....
.....finished.....!?!?
I'm rooting for you, now....I think you WILL live long enough to see it completed......!!!
It's really coming together now, can't wait to see it running
