Rev. Al, your remarks were right on point and most relevant for the occasion of the celebration of the life of Aretha Franklin. She was the Queen of Soul not only because of her musical skill, but because of her civil rights service.

Well said, Rev. Al. This message brought tears to my eyes. Well done Aretha! I hope this message inspires us all to do better, to treat ourselves and others better, and to reach beyond the stars as Aretha would want us to do in her memory. It is my prayer that we never forget her or her legacy. RIP! Job well done, Aretha.

Thank you Rev.. Sharpton.. Well said... I am glad to know that you called it for what it really was 'The Truth'...It is so good to know that real folks NEVER forget where we come from....lets join hands and be the FORCE that GOD AND Aretha wants us to be. TOGETHER we WILL stand...

This is why I love AA Church's I feel the Sermons I feel the Music I feel it.Even here at a Tangi I feel it.Godbless you all 💜🌼🌼🌼
Rev. Sharpton is right on point! Sister Aretha was more than a one dimensional singer. She was very much a civil rights icon and that includes the politics of past and present. His testimony was right on and so says the congregation! So glad he addressed what 45 said! Much respect Rev!
Fitbaby----we whites are tired of you crybaby blacks always crying for more Civil Rights, code words for special privileges. Now I boycott your black sister, she does not represent me.
Roman Darius You’re so tired of us but yet here you are all up in our comments. It must be a sad existence to have so much hate in your heart that you’ll spend a glorious Friday afternoon trolling Black people as they mourn and celebrate the life of one of their heroes. I feel sorry for your mother.
Stop the B.S. First of all, when Trump spoke of Aretha working for him, it was not at odds with ones' [supposed] working for God; bad analogy, but expected, given the convoluted logic of black men. If anything, the case could have been made, whether or not, Aretha was acutally en *employee* of Trump. And FRANKLY (excuse the pun), how is is, I NEVER heard of Aretha, being this "servant of God"? Yes, she did a lot more for black people, than I realized, but we have a tendency to overdo it, as was the case, yesterday. If a black conservative had died, and the speakers had trashed one like Obama, the press would have been decrying the "infusion of politics at a funeral".
liecrusher You should not make a comment if you miss the meat or meaning of the entire message!! Aretha was a PK kid and she grew up singing with her father In his church and traveling to various churches to single GOSPEL! She kept that servant attitude and never deviated from her roots as a child, servant and woman of God. This you should know or should have known before making this comment that makes no sense. If you are a true believer, we know we never work for anyone other than God, serving Him through the work on earth in whatever field you may be in. So, the exchange is so important, because it’s your ultimate destination and reward after all the pain, suffering and struggles while on assignment on Earth! She bore her cross. We go Home to our Father in Heaven and our Lord Jesus Christ. You are stuck on a person that’s not even relevant to that journey for Aretha. Your Black man comment makes no sense at all!! Your fishing for nothing! This is not about Trump, it’s about Aretha making her transition from this realm to her exchange destination to be given her real pay and receive her reward...her crown and her rest!! Amen and Blessings!.
Inspirebymikaeli if it wasn't about trump, he should never had factored into the discussion. Aretha Franklin worked to earn a living, to make a living. she left her true gospel roots, for the money, unlike a real gospel singer. like mahalia Jackson, who turned down millions, to stay true to her craft. don't get me wrong, Aretha was BAAAAD! One of the best, from the time she was Soul Sister No. 1 (I never figured out where this Queen of Soul came from, but that's my hangup). Let's not make Aretha bigger than what she was. Let this truthfulness be said: America doesn't like race batters like Al Sharpton and his decades of polarizing America for profit at the expense of carnage is what I meant by awakened. A 10 minute moment of silence with even a most simplistic portrait of her father Baptist preacher Reverend Clarence La Vaughan would have been more proper of a soul searching moment to reflect than any of Al's pimping hogwashs. C.L. played a key role as a committed father (her mother passed at age 10) in making that difference towards her stardom. Just wanted to share with my kindest respectful Amen regards.

@Coolissim0 Unl1mited well it can't be helped that you have no class and can't appreciate a true treasure. I guess you're a by-product of babies having babies!
Coolissim0 Unl1mited Actually, I am well educated, and I have learned to appreciate people’s talents. It is okay, to enjoy a person’s talents even if you may not agree with the way they have lived there lives. You sound uneducated, angry, and hateful because you make false assumptions. You can state your truth without being uncivilized about it. Al is still a great speaker!
Usually, I do not respond to comments on social media because I know many people are walking around with untreated mental health issues and people like to tell lies. Anyway, I do not know you from a whole in a wall and you have very negative energy. Furthermore, I know you are a waste of time, and I do not need to justify any of my educational or personal accomplishments to you. You tell lies. There is racism, poverty, and uneducated people all over the world. I hope that you use your privilege to help the disenfranchised in your country because they do exist. You live in a bubble if you think that Germany does not have any social problems.
Coolissim0 Unl1mited What? A PHD and you have trouble writing a sentence? Read your comment. Your education from a university does not make you smart. No, racial tensions there? Why would you spend your most valuable time commenting about something that has NOTHING to do with you? This women made her statement and opinion and because she doesn’t agree with you, you attempt to degrade her and use your education, status and country as an excuse to be disrespectful on an open exchange of communication? Gee sir, your university didn’t teach you good manners when socializing with others. A real professor would have no need to put on a big show to prove himself better than someone. If what you said was true, you would not find it necessary to use your status or lack of one, to say hurtful things to people. I notice that you didn’t say, I am happily married with a wonderful wife and great kids. Why? Because no one wants to be around a bigot hiding behind his so called education and status. You never said one kind or loving thing about Ms Franklin and that’s what this threads about! Blessings!

I appreciate what he said how she used her talents to glorify God. Yes,she did... she sang a certain high uplifting standard nothing degrading, nothing to corrupt the world. I will forever appreciate the artists of earlier years that sang beautiful songs and cared about humanity. I appreciate Rev. Sharpton. No complaints, just praise on this day for King Jesus and His saving blood and healing grace.
Hey Rev. Al Sharpton that was an awesome eulogy when you started speaking about Ms.Aretha Franklin and her contributions to Society it sends chill to my soul. Especially the part when you said, ' She has a cross down her but when she get to the exchange counter Ms. Aretha will hand in her cross ⛪and claim her Crown😇 in Heaven.' I really 💘everything about the eulogy and although President Barack OBAMA wasn't there he wrote a beautiful speech.🇺🇸🎓.I will always Love You Ms.Aretha Franklin 'The Queen Of Soul' and put some RESPECT to her name President Donald Trump!!!⛪
Well spoken about Aretha Franklin, indeed she was a queen of soul , not only did she been human rights activists but also a worrier and one of a kind, I will miss you contribution mum
what can I say riding on a freeway chain chain chain I never heard of Aretha Franklin until my mother starts singing Chain of Fools around us and I said oh my god listen to this lady every time I could hear her it will make me happy her music made you happy she was a lady in her own rights one of a kind rest in peace Aretha we love you but God loves you best God bless your family hold on children your mother was a queen.
It's amazing how we as a people will take the time to criticize others for how they serve humanity. And have no plan of action or idea of their own on how we lift ourselves up. I reserve no judgement...
Nisha, President Clinton was tired as many of the people were. Everyone had been sitting in the auditorium for hours. My son was there. He said the service was 7 hours long. I don't believe he was drunk.
As the old time preachers would say "It's Tight, But It's Right"! Some time we need to hear the stuff that will make us uncomfortable. We need to stop complaining so much about when is the right occasion to say certain things, we are living in a time where we DON'T HAVE MUCH TIME! That's why every chance you get you should say what needs to be said especially while in the company of such a diverse crowd. I tell people all the time it's not BLACK FOLKS who are going to get through to Racist White people, it's White people who will get through to racist White people. Aretha was the QUEEN of SHADE, not just Soul. So with that being said, I can assure you she would have APPROVED HIS MESSAGE BIG TIME.
There aren't that many racist white ppl, generally speaking, and normal white people don't like racist white people either!! Only Jesus can change people's hearts!
She performed for you, but worked for us.....Amen......bless you....REV...😍😍SIEP QUEEN😍😍

dinobuick he can't be that much of a jerk, you are here. And when he is debating with these devils I never here one lie, so off with you and stay out of grown folk business!
that's because u live in atlanta and that where he preys upon. ill put a catholic prayer for u . It would be more real that way :)
Just wanted to share with my kindest respectful regards.
AMEN & AMEN..MEET ME AT THE EXCHANGE COUNTER..JESUS

Rev Al always do a great job even at Michael Jackson's memorial, Rev. Al was awesome.
Yeah he was great as an fbi informant too
It's amazing how we as a people will take the time to criticize others for how they serve humanity. And have no plan of action or idea of their own on how we lift ourselves up.
I reserve no judgement...
Why bill back there looking like he drunk lol
Nisha Because he is...
Nisha, President Clinton was tired as many of the people were. Everyone had been sitting in the auditorium for hours. My son was there. He said the service was 7 hours long. I don't believe he was drunk.
Nisha Maybe he is
Indeya Bynam
He probably was
Celebration of her life was awesome. I hope we all walked away inspired
Amen Amen Amen When God is ready for me I she’ll walk up those stairs and I will hand in my cross and I she’ll get my crown (talking in tongues)
Sharpton was the true Eulogist!
