  • We're back with another episode of Guitar Battles! This time, the two most popular PRS models are put to the test; the McCarty 594 and the Custom 24. What the differences are between these two models is also a question we often get. For the sake of being able to keep the apart, Leif & Filip picked a Single Cut version for the 594 and a Double Cut version for the Custom 24!

I discovered your video, I want to say thank you for actually articulating what I was thinking. The custom to me sounded like it had more dynamic range and I just couldn't put my fingers on the 594 sound and once you said classic rock, it was eureka!!!

I’m a huge PRS fan, fantastic quality guitars. I have the Studio, the custom 24 and a McCarty SC all from the S2 range, a CE24 semi hollow and a Core McCarty DC. Thx for the awesome comparison and playing guys!

SC Mc Carty sounds bit fleshier and def more classic rock sound. I would def decide for that

Nice demo, gents as usual top notch playing if you both👌 soundwise I prefer the single cut prs, a bit rounder sounding than a normal les Paul. How are the necks of these prs’s? Most prs guitars are known for their flat, wide neck shapes.

I play 90s/ early 2000s alternative hard rock as well as modern country, all of which the CU24 covers very well. I like the tone of the mccarty better overall (especially for country) but can it rock with high gain if needed for stuff like linkin park and other heavy artists?

Definitely! I think both models are great with effects and gain additions, the real choice between the two is in the clean segment :)

@@thefellowshipofacoustics thanks for the response. Couldn't find vids using the mccarty with high gain. Love it's clean tone.

    PRS guitars have no character.

Depends. But these are top tier quality

A meaningless statement 😂 character comes from the player not the tool being used

Sure, that's why so many successful artists play them. Oh wait...@@ecash30

What's character? Flaws in the neck/frets? Going out of tune ? If so, you're right! They are damn near perfect.
