However, to be safe in general, cooking stabilizes the solanine and makes it safe for consumption. Also, corn usually gives dogs a blowout. On the cob can create a blockage in the intestine. And, if your dog gets excessive gas from eating anything, discontinue it. Usually that is a sign of gastric upset. Otherwise, you are awesome for providing healthy alternative treats to your doggie!

How sweet. I had a half corgi/half lemon head Bassett. He looked like a giant corgi, pointed ears and all. Everybody, be aware that corgis and bassets have dwarfism. They are at risk for some problems like tumors on their spleen which they are genetically predisposed to. My sweet boy had five tumors on his spleen. The vet said even if they operated he probably wouldn’t make it. Signs to look for are lameness in all four paws, a distended belly, and rapid breathing. Dogs can’t tell you they are sick. It is our responsibility to be aware of symptoms and taking to the vet. I wish I had fed my baby better with no store dog food. I wish I had never put a Seresto poison flea collar on him. I wish I had been a better mom. He was my sweet boy and we went everywhere together. A corgi/Bassett is the sweetest most intelligent dog on earth. Love your babies while you can. He only lived ten years and loved to take three walks a day.

I waited about a year hoping to catch wind of an airedale in a shelter nearby. Then i met my beagle and i'm happy i decided to get him instead. It's been about 9 years since we first met and i love him. So, some breeds are less easy to come across, but, shelter dogs are still awesome.
