    Unfortunately Hinduism has reduced to a bunch of disconnected, conveniently altered (diminished & performed for namesake) rituals & temple visits today with its followers having not much clue of the content of any of its history, documents, mythology or philosophy and how they translate to a "way of life" at any point in time, which is what I expect of any religion! Being largely one such myself, who is not blessed enough to be touched by the *divinity* aspect of the religion yet, I always wanted to try reading/listening and make an attempt at understanding the core documents of Hinduism to see if I can relate to it meaningfully. I will make a humble donation after I finish the 18th Chapter. Thanks a ton brother!

      Dear Udaya Shreyas,
      I listened to your Bhagavad Gita narration with meaning in the last week which was pretty good (I do not know Sanskrit since I did not learn it properly as an optional in school, to have a fair judgement here). I transferred a humble amount of ₹501/- as my contribution to your channel.
      I think there were places where there was scope for accuracy in choice of words. An example was "sexual gratification" used in a place where I felt "desire fulfillment" may have been more appropriate as "kama" stands for desire in general?
      I have doubts or seeming contradictions noted from this which will be great if a learned person like you could clarify. Therefore, I would like to keep this thread for the purpose of questions which I am hoping you will be able to address.
      Thankyou!

      #1 Assuming the theory of cycles of birth & death to be true with the soul changing bodies according to their Karmic accounts, most births are those where people cannot remember their previous life. In that case, why should someone worry about the choice of Karmas in present life especially if one could indulge in them satisfying even the lowest of gunas in such a way as to escape their negative consequences in this birth?

    मेरा यह मानना है कि जो भी सनातन ज्ञान संस्कृत में विद्यमान है आम व्यक्ति को सही से समझाने वाले ज्ञानियों के अभाव में धर्म की हानि ही हुई है। आप जैसे ज्ञानियों को समाज में जागृति पैदा करने की आवश्यकता है। कथा वाचकों ने तो धर्म की हानि ही की है। साधारण भाषा में संस्कृत साहित्य को आम व्यक्ति के समझने लायक बनाने के लिए आप को साधुवाद! ईश्वर आप को शतायु करे ताकि आप छुपे हुए खजाने को सब तक पहुंचा पाएं।

    Nice but slowly we need stop misinterpret certain words while converting to English..we just use sanskrit itself...like naraka to hell adharma to sin etc....gives wrong interpretation which is basically gone to dictionary from a Christianised angle...hope u got my point...

    • @kptrzk9398
      @kptrzk9398 4 ปีที่แล้ว +26

      The reader will always interpret the message in their own way. The world looks a bit different now than from when this was written, no? And it looks even a bit different from just 100 years ago, no? It is so, then, that all readers will see the text in a different perspective, given their context of locality, culture and time in history, regardless of the language used to transmit the message.

    • @sujith3914
      @sujith3914 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@kptrzk9398 You are right about people interpreting in their own way, but he is talking about the narrator being as true to the original as possible because these languages fall in much different parts of the spectrum in both construction and vocabulary, to appreciate this point more you can look for sanskrit intranslatables.

    This channel helped me in Guru Paduka stotram and now in BhagavadGita. You have given the treasure to me. No vocabulary to express at all. Your pronunciation itself made so many Sanskrit words understandable.
    You have collected the flowing force-water in the vessel, and Thank you for initiating and helping other naive buds to collect the precious drops too. Dhanyawaada! 🙏

    With clear understanding of syllables,your pronunciation of both the languages is almost ideal .With my rural background of Uttar Pradesh my pronunciation of English has been rather bad .I am also using it as a modle-reading of English as well .
    ( Being always accessible ) people used to approache me for learning Sanskrit and I as an ardent follower of Aryasamaj never disappointed anyone .
    There weren't any digital devices ; but I always insisted that they read one Adhyaya of Gita every day . Then I corrected their pronunciation . Three to five parayan was more than enough .
    God bless you ,dear sir .
