I think there's a gun snob thing going on around this gun because it's made in the Philippines by RIA/Armscor.

If your gun came with a plastic Glock front sight someone changed it out before it was sent to you. They come with steel sights. I agree with the issues with the rail spacing for sure. As for the Vortex Venom it's a good low cost optice that comes from the PI so it makes sence they chose that platform. Lastly the frame is aluminum not steel. Thank you for your review I am keeping mine I find it a soft flat shooter.

Everything you said, pro's & con's, I agree with you 100%. Having owned 2 of their 1911's in the past, both were horrible. FTF, FTE, Double Feeds, Stovepiping etc. I sold one and the other, RIA bought back from me. I swore off buying anything from them again. When they came out with the this striker fire gun, it caught my attention. Remembering the past problems I had with their handguns, I initially passed. I read several good reviews and I decided to get one. I had feeding and extraction problems right out of the box shooting brass and steel cased ammo. Off it went to Armscor. They replaced the barrel, tuned the extractor and I've had no issues since. My biggest complaint is the sights and optic readiness. I'm not a fan of the Vortex Venom. I prefer the Holosun brand. I contacted Armscor and asked when adapter plates will be available. I was told nothing in the near future. Very disappointing answer. I should have done my research about the plates not being available but I did not. I would never have purchased the gun had I known this. Who sells a gun with no adapter plates available for purchase? I'm debating whether to sell it. In the meantime, the gun just sits in my safe hoping Armscor will soon have adapter plates available. Like you said they were so close to getting it right.

I try very hard to do positive reviews but this is literally the worst gun I’ve reviewed, even worse than the Hi-Point.

Ah, and this will be why they don't like you 😆 cannot blame you one bit for this review, I would've been significantly more critical of it personally. Losing a front sight while firing would immediately be a hard fail for me. It really is too bad tho, their 1911s are fantastic. If you ever get a chance to get your hands on one, I highly recommend trying it out.

Love the new Batman television series from the 60s villains layer camera angle! As a kid that was literally my favorite part of the show, I always got a big kick out of it.
I was very excited myself, and then disappointed. Screwing the frame together? Definitely not comfortable with that. 100% love that slide, with the exception of that mounting system.
I sincerely hope they do come out with a (Gen. 2) better version. Or maybe like G19 mos or G34 mos or G43x mos.

The pistol is like buying a used VW Rabbit that has bondo. The Shadow System DR would be better as a non-Glock 17.

I can confidently say I don’t even need to hold one to tell I don’t ever want one; your close ups were enough. It looks like a Toys R Us toy gun. I’ll stick to my Sig Legions and 1911s. Thank you for an excellent review as usual; very thoughtful and thorough. Best Regards.
By the way, the Sig P226 Legion RXP I purchased in August had the rear sight fall off after 500 rounds. I put it back on with some red locktite.

Disappointed rock island has come a long way to see them cut corners to save money when they could shake up the polymer market . Seems a little stupid to me

I have gone through about 20-gun purchases in a year and this Rock Island STK100 has, by far, been the biggest disappointment of them all. BRAND NEW, the three flat head screws, on its left side started to unthread themselves after about 100 rounds, no Loctite on them at all, too much Loctite on the optic site cover, had to use a heat gun to get them off, magazines won't lock in without a good slam, and biggest issue, fails to eject about 40% of the time. AND , I can only get 9 rounds into the 10 round magazines, UGH! The finish looks like third world flat black house paint, and the barrel looks like Harbour Freight's $ 9.99 1000-piece socket set metal. Nothing like a $500 paper weight and a constant reminder of my bad choice. Just have to wait 4-6 weeks for the Rock Island " gunsmith" to spray some oil on it , shoot 1 round , and proclaim it fixed.
I can’t argue with any of that
