It's hard to foresee all the possible things that could derail our plans. No matter how much thinking, planning & research I do, obstacles can & do appear. Stay strong.
Thanks I appreciate that motivation… Me and the wife are definitely planning to do this again, with a lot of learnings from this project under our belt.
OH NOOO! My husband and I were enjoying your videos. We purchased ours about 2 months ago and it looks just the one you had. My husband was taking notes. We are soooo proud of you. Our journey is just beginning, but I'm only converting mine into a snow cone truck. I would have bought it from you had I known.🙂
First I’d like to say thank you for tuning into the shuttle bus videos, I really appreciate you taking the time to watch. Secondly, it’s super cool to hear that you both are taking on a shuttle bus project as well. I hope some of what I was able to capture can be helpful for ya’ll. I hope your Snow Cone trucks turns out to be a HUGE success and even if it doesn’t I hope you have a fun time on the journey! If you guys are going to be posting about the journey anywhere… let me know where, I’d love to follow along.
Oh my goodness I totally want to see your bus! Do you have a channel? A TH-cam channel? I have one but seriously I don't know how to work that dang thing? I think I've got a whole bunch of videos up there that are actually from ideas for my bus build and a bunch of others that are tagged on that I don't know what to do with cuz I don't know how to take them off the TH-cam channel? Smh I never thought I'd be so confused with technology? But I totally want to see your bus! Please!
Of COURSE I'm going to like and share!!! You are AWESOME! Your wife is AWESOME! And these videos you've made are AWESOME!!!! I super appreciate your being completely up front about the cost of everything for this bus! This whole experience with you has been invaluable to me and I can't tell you how much I appreciated!! Good luck with all your new ventures! ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️👍👍👍👍
Also there's this new thing where people rent out their driveway and space they have on their property that allows them to have RVs or buses or boats excetera :-) it's much less expensive and they're usually pretty cool people. I hope that you never run into this again but more so I hope that you find a way around it!
I believe you and your wife have the right idea It's just maybe you got the bus a little ahead of time like before you were actually supposed to. This is what I pray for you and your wife, I pray that you are blessed to where you can move to a home that is not under an HOA with a lot of land and then you can build a fleet of off rack buses! It would be beautiful! Don't let go of your dream Just put it off and watch it grow into something even better than you thought possible!
That’s a cool way to look at it… I don’t look at paying for my degree as a loss… so I guess I shouldn’t look at this like a loss either. Thanks for watching… and the positive words!
Yeah I enjoyed the project too… and it’s a shame that I didn’t finish… but it was going to linger and I wasn’t ready to commit the additional time and resources.
Okay :-) now I'm going to continue watching! By the way I really am loving the progress of this bus because this is where I am about to be in my build. The insulation in the setting of the walls and the ceiling and finally the floors.
Thanks for check out the video! I wish you the best of luck with your Bus build! This was definitely one of the more difficult projects that I ever took on. If you don’t mind me asking… What are you turning your bus into?
@@DetroneDoesIt I actually live in it believe it or not! Okay so crazy story but not so crazy for me. I have dreams that come true all the time but they're never for me they're usually for other people so I write them all down. I kept dreaming about me being in a bus but I didn't understand why. Fast forward to living in the condo I'd been in for 4 years that kept flooding every time there was a rainstorm and I'd lose all the furniture downstairs. My landlord replaced absolutely nothing. He said he was sorry though lol thanks tried to evict me because well I wouldn't hook up with him. I told him like that's not part of the rent dude get yourself a girlfriend? Cuz I'm not her? This is not part of the rent? Anyways he kept coming over and it was really scary so I took matters into my own hands and I took him to court. I won but I had to move. I had no place to live except this shuttle bus that I had bought that was gutted. So I cleaned her really really well got rid of 90% of what I own and I mean threw away most of it sadly, gave away what I could to those people who help me move and then I moved into my bus. I'm still in her. I have not framed in the walls ceilings or floors she's just a gutted bus with me and my babies in it. I have a kitty and a dog. Anyways it's actually been the best experience of my life so far except I can't seem to get people to help me to do anything to work on it. They're all lip service. It makes a little more difficult when you already live in the bus so I'm going to have to pull everything out to sub in the floors walls and ceiling. After that I think everything will go smoothly. So I'm living in her, this no-name bus. But she kept me from being homeless. If I hadn't had those dreams of what was going to happen I would literally be on the streets or God knows where
@@juliescrazybuslife Wow that is a wild and inspiring story… which sounds like it’s still writing itself. Well now I’m rooting harder for you to win! I hope you get the bus renovated soon, then share your story with the internet!
I really love this video! This is almost the same kind of shuttle bus that I have. I keep having this thought as I'm watching your video. Perhaps the beginning journey of the build of this bus was to prepare you for the same kind of thing but perhaps for somebody else? Like what if somebody needed help building their bus but didn't know really where to start? And look at you? You just jumped right in and did it. Perhaps if you felt the urgency to help another person and definitely get paid for it and to create two experiences if not more... How beautiful would that be. Maybe this is the beginning of something you don't even realize it started!
That’s a great perspective… this could be a calling and this 1st bus might just be the jump start to my journey… I’m definitely down to help other with their builds also… that really why I started recording this content, because I wanted to be a help to others in a similar position. Thanks again for check out the video’s and for sharing your encouraging thoughts.
Wow, that's unfortunate. But an eye opener. I also have an HOA to deal with and no garage attached to my home. I am considering converting a shuttle bus into an RV so that I can spend time traveling cheaply visiting family and friends. In the past two years our family has migrated to different states for work. The cost of living being what it is, it's not economically feasible for individuals to travel all over the place visiting but I want to when I retire in two years. Hrm, this makes me think that sticking to a Van is the way to go in my scenario. Good luck in your future endeavors.
Yes I think of if a Shuttle is in your future, certainly check the HOA rules about the type of vehicles that can be parked there (and for how long)… or reach out to your HOA manager for some clarity… because storing it can get costly. I like the van idea (better gas mileage for sure), spacing would be the concern for us (because it’s 4 of us) but having a family that is spread out as well… I like the idea of getting mobile for future travel. Thanks for watching!
@@DetroneDoesIt Found our bylaws online and shuttle in my own driveway is a NOPE. I hadn't even considered it might be an issue until I saw your video.
I feel you bro HOA is something else. It has pros and cons to it. But people don't understand how much the material cost is. And working by yourself is different than an 8-man crew. I know y'all will get back on your feet and make that money back. ✊🏽🙏🏾
Thanks I appreciate that! You do make a good point about the HOA and their role and how they have pros and cons. Yeah I think selling the bus was largely motivated by situational factors… but the best part is now that I’ve stumbled through it once… I’ll be more prepared the next time. Thanks for watching!
Brother, bro⁉️ Three years when I got my 2009 Chevy express 3500 with the 6.0 vortex that was 6K I’m on the West Coast in Las Vegas. Purchased it in San Diego.
The engine was damaged I sold it for $700.😢 it worked good for 2 1/2 years but that was a big loss after putting a new tires to left and right arm control a steering box max fans so I understand the pain of losing cash.
After losing that a purchase a 2011 Ford Econoline for $1200 bucks with 200,000 miles on it total issues so I had to render it back to the guy who sold it to me, but that was a good deal!!!😅
So presently I have a 2011 Chevy express 4500 Duramax diesel with 230,000 miles on it purchase $4900. It was a Utah bus a little rust but the transmission engine is perfect. Third time charm.😊
Wow! You have had some interesting ones so far... I really do hope that 3rd time is the charm for you. I was bummed out by the money lost but I got a lot of valuable experiences from this process and if I had more land or a mobile career, I'd but another one in a heart beat. Thanks for watching and sharing your experiences.
