I've only used it once, and it seemed hit & miss. Some areas seems like it covers amazing, some seemed like it was flashing through a bit. I just don't think water-based is anywhere near oil based at the moment.
I'm using this as I write this and it's really good gear. At first it looked like it was dragging a bit, but settles down the nuts. I used the fast flow gloss a couple of years ago and couldn't get on with it, but this is top stuff in my opinion and I usually hate acrylic paints. Thumbs up. Using an ice fusion brush with it too 👍
hi champ.. Great channel as always.. what did you use underit before your top coats.. as I got a load of pre primed, would 2 coats be enough over that... roller turning we are not earning.. 🤣 lmk... thanks
I have also put this straight over old oil based gloss frames with no adhesion primer and it has stuck well so there ya go lol but I still prefer the finish of oil and use mainly oil
Use quite a bit of this. Easy to use and finishes well. Yellows very slightly in dark hallways. If it had a slightly higher sheen level I would like it even more. It can be a little flat
Hello. Could you please give me your best advice on choosing the most durable water based for my wooden framed windows? Using 80 grit sandpaper I spent hours & days hand sanding x 4 wooden sash window frames. I sanded off old layers of yellowed gloss leaving behind a thin layer of gloss which I can now see the wood grain through. I now have trust issues finding the most durable water based paints for my interior. I want to be 100% sure I am choosing the right paint system so I don't have to re-do all my efforts ? I am new to water based paints. So how would I go about this ? Do I need to prime ? uncoat ? Please tell me the most professional trustworthy durable pants recommended with the longest lasting effect ? Regards Micheal
Fast flow satin is a hybrid paint , it has a small percentage of oil. It wrecks brushes , do not use your best Purdys . I recommend Hamilton Prestige synthetic they are reasonably priced and last a about 2-3 plots before become too unusable. The stock gets clogged and the brush gets ruined. Good paint apart from that, use fast flow undercoat , then two satins. Crap to use in plots with no heating in winter.
I've had no problem with clogging up, been using it for weeks with an ice fusion and the brush stays perfect all day long until cleaning out good as new.
Hi there. Can anyone tell me where to buy professional roller sleeves from online ??. I'm from Cyprus . Looking for 15 in to 18 inch . Tnx much appreciated
I've used this gear in HVLP its not the best out there but it's not the worst. Get ya spraying on the wood work candle man! put a 210 tip on the graco with a 100 mesh filter in the gun and the main filter on the machine & pressure on very low. Jobs a gooddin.
@@markbagley9972 Always a good idea to warm up the gear water or oil if your using HVLP and thinning it out to a loose consistency say 10% but I like it a bit more thinner as its going on very fine with a 1.5 needle tip.Set up some paper and do a test run as hvlp is more tricky to get the right spray width as you will know unless you only use graco then just a 100 mesh filter in the gun and the main filter as well.
Advantages over oil paint: 1) multiple coats in one day.2) doesn't yellow.3) no odour.4) Easier to apply. Disadvantages: 1) Needs at least two coats, even on previously painted woodwork, when 1coat may suffice with oil paint.2) Needs to be thinned, especially on large surfaces such as flush doors.3) Requires good quality synthetic brushes, which need careful cleaning after every use (even if stopping for a short time i.e. for lunch). And last but not least 4) The price, Currently £81.00 per 5 lts at Crown Decorator Centers. Yes that's right £81.00 😮😮☹☹ Why is everything that's "green" and supposedly good for the planet (Electric cars, etc) so f***ing expensive?
loving the 10ltr tub paint kettle and 3" lol
You'll have to give it one of your tests Phil.
WRX water based satin pretty good gear goes for miles not too expensive.
Gets good reviews, Online and B and Q.

Bedec Aqua advanced satin is the best gear available, unbelievable stuff

Hi did you use the satin or gloss ?
For water based satin, I always always use zinsser permawhite, covers great and can double coat it within a couple of hours if it’s warm enough
Decent gear but not used it in white so a bit harder to tell or compare to your test
Easy to apply , flats out well , nice even sheen
Add more vids mate your classxx
It looks like skirtings were sprayed? Do you do the woodwork first and then walls ? Thanks.
It's belting gear I used it a bit ago it's decent
Hi, did you use the fast flow primer undercoat as base coat? Cheers
Oil based eggshell ..beautiful elegant finish also dries very quickly.using these water based finishes in the summer is a nightmare

Is it better than Johnstones Mark?
It's a close thing but I think Johnnos just gets the vote slightly better finish although Johnnos does wreck the brush after a while
Thanks for the educated opinion Wally

Yer m8 johnstones water based gloss does the same to your brushes to no matter how much you wash your brushes out
I've used Hamilton expression with this gear no issues with those brushes although I do clean em everytime after use.
Try using water base white spirt it helps cleans the brush to get it back to normal 🤠
I’ve used it loads it mangles brushes over time. Lost many a good brush to fast flow 🙄🙄
Water based paints look good for a few months , but its not got the same tough finish as solvent based satin , especially trying to clean it

I want to try and spray it on too how much do you thin and did you warm the paint up?

Find it leaves a grainy feel to the finish, Isomec all day long
Dulux who?
Though you were a financial expert.
mic your videos up mate so we can actually hear you instead of the boomy reverb room noise.
Crucifies your brushes...cant be doing with constantly flushing em out during the day.
Not if you wet them before you use them
I thought he must have shit load of paint spit all over the walls how quick and aggressive you were painting.
And then I realized it was sped up 🙃🤣
Lick. Eggshell is good
