I add grated carrots, and red and green bell peppers to mine; I like to have this pie with stewed chicken or saltfish brule jhol; very delicious!

I slit my fig down the middle and I use tongs to separate the fig from the skin....this I way I don’t have to wait for the fig to cool down and it mashes easier.....makes it very smooth. I add tuna to it as well or on rare occasions seasoned ground beef. One of my faves! U can do the same with dasheens, tania or yellow yams 😋

@@marcellinetoussaint6971 me and fig have issues lol….I always end of having a cut under my thumb, no matter what I do....under water, oil, gloves…so now depending on what I’m making it I boil it in its skin. Or I slit it and had it sit in hot water for 5-10 minutes and the skin peels with very little effort. I boil in the skin for fig pie and soak in hot water for soups and braffs.
