This was where Jackie was funny. I think I only chuckled at two of Jackie’s jokes over the years but his personal life was hilarious. His houses, the jetty, customers calling to complain, his apology. That and his laugh at certain moments. He should of embraced that.
Jackie Martling...the only "Stand-Up" comic in history that told knock knock jokes for an hour, then would turn around and sell you coffee mugs out of a steam trunk on stage. 🤡
not only that...coffee mugs with the jokes written on them that you just heard ten minutes before. the man had to be the luckiest man alive to get that job. shows you that hard work means nothing. far better comics could have gotten that job. sometimes the stars just line up. Jackie is the first whackpacker.

Anybody thinks the show better without Jackie was on crack. And this is where Robin added to the show. Busting on Jackie, giving Howard inside info, riling Howard back up when he starts to lose interest
Jackie used to confide in Robin. then she would go on air and tell what he told a few months later, LOL. He kept falling for it years on end. Jackie is so easily deceived by women. his wife divorced him within a year of leaving the show. just like Howard said she would do.
I love the guy on the phone with his deadpan "...he owns the local comedy club." after hearing Jackies cryptic wheeling and dealing. "Listen up guy im tellin yah how to get your money back!!!" Always some shceisty stuff with Jack lol. Cold gold madeem old ...yeeehooo!
Notice - when Jackie brought up John being on the phone with stockbrokers so much that Gary couldn't use the phones - John quickly denied it and tried to bring the focus back to Jackie. We know this was true - Howard even brings this up - John wheeling & dealing on the phone with stockbrokers (Sal was one of them who John put through to bust Gary's balls) - John even later on his podcast how he had so much stock - he got tips from the stockbrokers and probably stock for free for letting them through on the phones to talk to Howard. John was wheeling & dealing when he worked the phones. In one way you can't blame him - he was making next to nothing on the show - Howard knew that which is why I think he turned a blind eye to it - until he could use it to bust John's balls on the radio. On the other hand, John uses people and then burns bridges with everyone sooner rather than later. I loved when Artie & Jackie would call him out on his never having money on him but always leaching on to them for free lunch & never tipping servers or limo drivers.
John is a shyster. K.C. Armstrong just recently made the revelation that John wasn't allowed to see the schedule for upcoming guests, but he was always "sneaking" a look so he could see when all the comedians would come in. Then, he would proceed to badger the comedians into doing his "Stuttering John & Friends" thing where he would keep most of the money.
When John was buying property in a rural NY area, he said it was cheap because "They're poor up there!" Even after his Wings appearance, he couldn't wait to mention the 10k he got and belittle a caller about his good fortune. Total dink.
All of the humiliation and attacks jackie suffered on the Stern show is nothing compared to the years of being heckled by drunks in cheap strip clubs and bars.

Also he was quick and witty, half the time at least. He had good quips and zingers all over the place, when he was on someone he really let them have it and was clever. When he was a drugged mess, lots of ppl still thought he was funny. It gets me depressed honestly, re listening to the ones where his voice is all scratchy and when he was nodding off many times. But, they guy was/is funny. Smart and witty. Gotta say though, I thought he was bad on that 2008 Joe Buck appearance. Just came off as mean and drugged up.
