- Every year, San Francisco’s Mission District-specifically Calle 24, the city’s Latino Cultural District-comes alive for Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). This isn’t just a festival; it’s a deep, meaningful celebration of life and death, with roots tracing back to the ancient Aztecs and traditions carried on by millions across Mexico and Central America.
In this video, I spend 8 hours immersing myself in San Francisco’s unique take on this ancient holiday-witnessing rituals, tasting traditional foods, and experiencing the vibrant energy of one of the city's most culturally rich neighborhoods. From the opening ceremony to the powerful evening procession, I’ll take you through it all.
Join me as we explore the sights, sounds, and flavors of Day of the Dead-San Francisco style!
