I totally agree with you. I hate those kind of exhaust tips. Tuck ‘em under the car. Looks like the plastic chrome around the instrument panel is in rough shape.
I have the same car, only it's Cranberry Red with a black top. The '70 LS5 454 advertised hp was 360 @ 4400 rpm. Chevrolet put the exact same engine in the Corvettes and the advertised hp was 390 @ 4800 rpm. The 1971 LS5 static compression ratio was reduced to 8.5:1, but the advertised hp in a Chevelle and Monte Carlo SS454 was 365 hp @ 4800 rpm. I believe the 4400 rpm hp rating was about 330 for an LS5 in '71. Just like the other manufacturers, Chevrolet played games with the advertised numbers each year.
This Monte Carlo SS 454 is going to be listed at $54,900. If it's one you're interested in give us a call @ 507-386-1726 and ask to speak with one of our sales people. We look forward to hearing from you!
No. Torqueflite transmissions were in Chrysler Corporation vehicles. These shifters in the Chevrolets were used for 5 years, '68-'72. They are commonly called horseshoe or staple shifters. I've heard several other names for them, too. One of them being airplane shifter. I make and sell custom detent plates to convert factory shifters to perform much better than the factory shifters originally did, and this shifter is by far the most used by my hundreds of customers. The conversion I have lets you simply slap the handle forward twice. You won't miss a gear, and you can't accidentally go to neutral.
Very sharp and super clean car. I would upgrade the mufflers, they seem a bit restrictive. Mild Flowmasters would resolved that.
I had a 72! And loved it!
UCC consistently presents vehicles of great appeal to me! Love this car. Get rid of those low ball straight tail pipes ASAP.

Wow, que belíssimo carro! 🤩
Beautiful. What you have here is a wolf in sheep's clothing...
Looks a lot like the movie car from Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift.
Beautiful.

Horseshoe? Pretty sure it was referred to as the Tourqueflite console shifter, wasn't it?
