Thanks for sharing this project Carl. I made one for my daughter and son-in-law to take camping. She shows it to a few people she works with and next thing I know I have to make 12 more. Guess I know what I'll be doing next weekend! Thanks again...it's a great project and yes, I made a couple for myself. Take care, Steve
Carl, I have made several of these and they make great little stools for fishing as well as a handy little table. I usually make mine out of oak or standard treated lumber.
Just finished mine last evening... I used Walnut, Maple and Mahogany. I must have added about 100 more hits to the video... I Had to keep re-watching it to see how the heck that darn thing went together... Lot's of fun! I think I'll make the larger one next.
Carl, thanks for doing this video. After watching it several times I made one today, it's my first and it came out pretty good. There is one thing that I could use some help with and that is which dowels get glued in, it wasn't clear to me. I have mine finished but I have not yet glued any of the dowels in. Again, thanks for doing it.
+John Curry Thank you very much John! I watched the video again, and it is confusing! I'll do a short video on my Q&A channel in a day or so, here's the link. th-cam.com/users/Thetuningshop
gee thanks Carl. my mom is in town from San Diego. was showing her some of your video's. so now she wants two of your chairs and a table . good thing is I have about 6 months to a year to make before she comes up again or I have to have done when I go down in September for my tuna fishing that was an awesome table or trade fish for table and 2 chairs lol
Memories........ my grandfather made on of these many many years ago when I was a small kid. on his, the table top closed all the way together, and i remember it almost always pinched my butt when I sat down on it, lol. Now Im gonna have to make one of these in memory of my grandfather :D Thanks for the memories
Thank you Carl for a great little project. I can't wait to see your new lathe American Beauty in action. I know tomorrow is the 4th July but can we have our colony and tea back please?? Best wishes, Alan.
Good work. I've been thinking about making a couple of these for a while now, but keep putting it off. Maybe I'll get my rear end out in the shop and get them started. As always, great videos.

Thank you for posting this. I wanted a project and this was great! First woodworking project and it came out awesome. Really enjoyed your video and thanks again
This table is lightweight and portable, and folds up for easy storage. It's a easy woodworking project that can be done in a few hours. I used Cedar because it holds up well outside. This is a fun easy project that can be made in a day.
This is a really great afternoon project. Thanks for putting the time in to post. I also very much like your style behind the camera, clear concise instructions, good audio, good clear shots. I'm subscribed!
Great video. Love how you break it down very easy to follow. I made one a little longer and it came out great. One question. What did you use to seal it? Would a regular water based poly lock up the dowel joints? Appreciate and enjoy your videos!
Awesome little table Carl .There's only one problem my wife want's one to go with the kentucky stick chair I made her a few week's ago after watching your video on them. Great job and thank's for the extra work lol.

What's an alternative to making the round edges without that tool you're using? Thanks
You could use a jig saw or band saw to cut them and then hand sand.
