  • Join me as I take you on a short journey thru Fruit and Spice park located in Homestead Florida. Although it is January and many fruits are not bearing during this time of year, there are still several different seasonal fruits to see and taste. The Park sits on 37 acres and has more than 500 varieties of exotic fruits, herbs, spices, and nuts from around the world. This park is part of the Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces System. Hope you enjoy the video, and subscribe to PayYourSelfBack. Be well my friend!
    Fruit & Spice Park is located at:
    24801 SW 187 Ave, Homestead, FL 33031

    Downtown Ft. Lauderdale amongst the business buildings - a large mango tree just drops its fruit for anyone to collect (public lot). Free mangos!

    Thanks, C-Los! We are closing on our house in Hollywood Lakes in 2 weeks. We are so excited to be getting ready to leave California. I know you love it here, but it's not the same as it was. We always have so much fun in Florida. I love fruits & veggies, so excited about another fun thing to do. We like the state park at the end of Dania Beach & always go for a veggie burger at the little grill there.

      What's up Kevin. I know it's probably chilly in Portland around this time of year. I miss it!! Homestead is nice In my opinion.. I will probably be heading down there this weekend to a winery called Snebley.

    If you love this you will love mango season. It's Mid though mid August and there are hundred of varieties. Each tastes differently and ripen at different times of the season. Mango men out of homestead sell great ones. You can find them on Facebook . Then there is Truly Tropical you tube channel. It's a mango nursery out of Delray Beach in west palm that also sells lots of great mangoes. Then in Broward I got Benders grove, a tropical fruit nursery. In mango season they also sell fruit. He advertises which varieties are available on Facebook. But yeah, winter is the slow season for fruit in Florida, so there are lots more to see soon!

    Hi C-Los Im newly subcribed to your channel maybe a week, I watched almost all your posted videos because I was thinking of moving to Florida ..my good friends just moved to the west side but Im not so sure I can handle the extreme heat in Fla. but Im loving all the delicious fruit and vegetables. my guru Pele Chen a fruitarian &yoga instructor& massage therapist lives on east coast and frequents that homestead market ...I want to thank u for giving me a good glimpse of areas that I would not normally see.I visited Ft.Lauderdale 20yrs ago and walked the broadwalk everyday it was less crowded then by hotels and people it was a very nice vacation the food was so fresh and delicious.I was looking at the housing for say the winter months,short term leasing for now. Oh those two Burro bananas u were given are the original banana, the bigger bananas people buy in grocery stores are hybrids like Grapefruit and Broccoli are hybrid...Dr.Sebi always talked about original and hybrid and he made alot of sense. I watch alot of TH-cam videos of people from all walks of life.Thank u for your service! Take care,Sincerely G.

      Let me first say Thank you for subscribing!! The heat and humidity in the summer can be brutal. I try to shed a little light on things to do here in South Florida; which is a lot. I also use a fair amount of tact when I address some of the real issues that go on here. People move here by the thousands every year which has noticeably driven the cost of living up even in the 2 years that I have been here. The good thing is that it's always something to do. However I will say that Tourist eyes see a different picture than those of a Florida resident. Take it easy my friend!

    We’re considering a job offer in FL... we currently live near Seattle, WA. Question: how long did it take you to acclimate to the heat and humidity of South FL moving from WA?

    • @PayYourSelfBackMRYORK
      @PayYourSelfBackMRYORK  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It didn't take long. A word of caution; If you move here the heat and humidity is something your gonna have to accept. I will say that it's not bad during the winter months. However, it's not anywhere close to the coolness of Tacoma.

    • @lmonkey25
      @lmonkey25 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      PayYourSelfBack every place has its positives and negatives. Besides the obvious climate difference... but from your experience with WA and FL, are there any major annoyance with living in FL compared to the annoyances of Puget Sound you wish wasn’t there? Sorry to keep bugging you. 😶
