www.4x4TV.TV first aired in 2001 with coverage of the beginning events in the Extreme Rock Crawling Championships. We still have lots of that classic footage that we will be putting up just to bring a tear to your eyes for the good old days.
www.4x4TV.TV tested many factory four wheel drive vehicles during our early days and you can see the tests we did all categorized on our website.
www.4x4TV.TV projected several amazing vehicles including Elsie, our beloved FJ60 that was my family cruiser and remains in the shop to this day - and until the day they plant me in the ground. We also restored and period projected a very nice FJ40 that ended up in the hands of a friend, "Bottle-a-day Dave." Anyone ever run across Dave Yarington (a rabid cruiser enthusiast - okay 'nut') please have him contact me. We also projected a great old Cherokee named Scofield (named after my friend who bought it new and explored many backroads in it). That Cherokee also still remains in my family, now driven by my son-in-law and most likely soon to be my Grandson's daily driver. Proof that good machines never die.
www.4x4TV.TV also went on some incredible adventures, certainly our favorite thing to do. We traveled a lot of cool trails around southern California as well as the infamous (in the ATV world!) Piute Trail area and of course Moab. What we love most are the scenic trails! You can find them all listed on our website as well.
www.4x4TV.TV had a few trail tips (which I hope to do more of), abad product reviews on both items for your rig as well as to make your trail experience better.
Hope to see you out on the trail.

Those are 23x12.50x15s but we've since put on 33s and had it re-geared to run stock rpm and speedo with the 33s.

I have recently aquired a 1989 HJ61RG. It has a 4.0L TD in it (12H-T) with 5spd stick shift. @ 10litres per 100km it has plenty of grunt. (in Australia). It is a Japanese import with the fender mounted mirrors and 24V system.

@26stevedubbs The lift kit is by Old Man Emu (ARB). It is absolutely amazing in how well it rides. There are a lot of places that sell them. Google it or go to Slee Off Road, or Cruiser Outfitters.
The tire work really well, but we really like the Goodyear MT/Rs better.....

    I just bought a FJ60 with a OM617 Mercedes Diesel swapped into.
Since diesels weren't ever sold here, do you know if I will have any trouble registering it? I live in a county with emissions testing (davidson)
    Thanks!

They are out there....You just need to patiently start looking - constantly. Both my son-in-law and myself found very nice FZJ80s that we love. The 80s are more prevalent and a better vehicle for everyday use.

Were they? I remember seeing a Diesel powered LC. It must've been imported long after the original model run had ended. If I remember correctly, the LC Diesel I saw looked like that of the FJ60, except it had a Diesel badge on the front grille of the vehicle.

You are a lucky man . . . . Diesels are almost impossible to find in the US

Awesome vehicle, the Toyota Land Cruiser! I would love to buy one for myself if I could find one in reasonable original condition.

Cool! I'm also interested in a diesel powered Land Cruiser. I know they were sold, in limited numbers, here in the USA.

I followed your FJ60 upgrades and enjoyed then again I own one so am sorta partial to them, question for ya have you ever thought about a diesel conv. or do you think that's a good idea? thanks again...Jim

Hmmmm. I don't think there were ever any diesel LCs imported. I think the few that are in the US were either brought in afterwards or converted. Finding one of them will be about as easy as finding an unburned Fisker ;-)

Oh my.....I can only dream of a 60 with a 5-speed and a turbo diesel.
    A Wrangler ?!?!
