The fact that ads, not just the songs but ads themselves (as in the Sam Jackson Capital One ad) can be copyright claimed is a hilarious concept to me. They're **ads**, the entire point of them is that you want as many people as possible to see them lmao.

Did you know wind blowing, DC bias noise and tape hiss can get you copyright claims? I got one once for DC bias noise in a gameplay video.
Because these commercials still belong to their legal copyright holder (advertising studio) and even though commercials are LIKELY public domain, that sure as hell does not stop them from copyright claiming it. I have had Warner Bros. claim a damaged VHS rip of a TMNT II commercial. I have even had the business owners of local commercials I upload contact me and say "hey this is my commercial, blablaBLA" and I explain to them no money is made off my channel and no rights are violated and they go away. Some are more appreciative and thank me for uploading it and giving them a nostalgia moment or tell me about their business and experience making the commercial. It all depends on what is flagged by bots and what has an actual human behind it.
If people were smart enough to have any intelligence, a class action lawsuit could be filed to stop youtube from copyright claiming everything and go back to the free reign era of 2005-2007 when you could post whatever you wanted without any fear at all.

Both of which were at the height of adpocolypse and you had the equivalent of ambulance chaser lawyers scrounging youtube and facebook for audio they could report to UMG, sony or audiostock for like a $15 good boy payout.

The Duracell bunny is the original bunny. Energizer released it as a parody but around the 2000s they stopped using it and Duracell reintroduced theirs. In many countries, many still believe the Duracell one is the ripoff, US included which makes no f***ing sense!

The original location in Independence, MO is now The Dugout, a batting cage center, and I had a hard time getting Google Maps to find the then-new location in Lee's Summit, but at 516 NE 291, there's a frozen custard stand, and a strip mall that most prominently features Five Guys, an IHOP, some salons and a smoke shop.
Kind of sad to hear how excited they were about their new location back then, and now, all trace of both stores is gone completely. Hell, that whole model of game sales is all but extinct now, too.

My grandpa literally went berserk when I told him I shot down the baron, he was coaching me what to do to land. Right at the last second, he had to help me fight the joystick.

I actually found that exact spot from the "Gilliard Day" ad. It's right across the street from Gilliard's Store, a little convenience store in the middle of nowhere. The store shows up on street view (latest date is 2016) but isn't on the map itself, so it may be out of business. You can still see the hay bales decorated like pigs.
Hi Vinny, it’s British Vinny - some interesting stuff about the mysterious Humpty Dumpty. The reason he’s thought of as an egg is only because there was an illustration of him as such in one of the Alice books. My mother owns the first illustrated edition which is probably worth a fortune. But Lewis Carrol never described him as an egg, it was just an illustration to express something that could be shattered quite easily. Also, one theory suggests it was the nickname of a large cannon in the English Civil War, much like we give names to bells; hence the name might be onomatopoeic, as the firing of a massive 17th Century cannon might have made a very bass “Humpty Dumpty” sound. It’s just a theory. (I did English and History at Oxford, and loved writing essays on things like this.)

i must have seen that sparktop commercial hundreds of times growing up. haven't even had cable for a decade, but seeing it again makes me feel like i just saw it yesterday in-between tv shows. honestly i don't think i minded it much as a kid at first, but i remember seeing it so often that it eventually started making me angry to see it lmao, especially when directv accidentally played the commercials twice in a row.

Mine wasn’t one in the commercial but it was around the same area. Didn’t grow up with it but was introduced to it by an ex. By the 2010’s it was normally very empty but had some retro games and was fun to browse and had cool video game merch artifacts and old posters.
The store shut down around Covid, wish I could’ve gotten the cool ass Fox McCloud statue in it, hope someone’s taking care of that.

seeing the sparktop commercial made me realize that I saw that commercial ,every day, for its duration. and I never visited that website once. not once
