I'm personally a fan of the older Animated styled artwork as it had its own charm and take on the character designs. Feels like they're trying to get a roger rabbit effect out of the art style change which, while fine in its own right, is a stark contrast to the first designs for the comic. Glad they went back to it.
@@GoBeyondComics Yeah I'm quite the opposite. With the look that the majority of the comics are going for, each character has their own personality and characteristics shine in their design. However simple it looks, it really has that charm that fits the comic as it's got its own plot that is similar but not 1 to 1 with the original that the changed art style in book 7 doesn't communicate. It's near 1 to 1 with the show models, again the roger rabbit effect and it doesn't mesh with the story for me. Everyone has their tastes though and I do agree the artwork in book 7 is great, but for me, it doesn't sit well with the story the comic is going for.

Yeah I 100% agree the artwork does give each character a unique look, displays their personality, and shows the uniqueness in their beast forms.
I think some protoforms are new bots and some are strip down into protoforms.
