I personally think the pace is all fucked up. They also screwed up two great scenes by splicing them together, Magneto raiding the Pentagon and old Magneto and Bobby rescuing Rogue
For me it’s only the bottom like 3 or 4, from the lowest ranked iron Man, but it was by far the best x men so far, I’d put it under either Deadpool or Logan tho
@@alexlawrence6440 that is fucking NUTS. Anybody who says that this doesn't beat at least half of the MCU is incredibly biased against the XCU. Days of Future Past would be well into my top 10

If this was made by Marvel Studios, there would be no end to the love and it would be well-deserved. BUT NO. These nutcases are insanely bias about who makes these movies and why.
They hold the marvel movies waaay too high, and shit on the X-Men movies too much. Nick is 100% right. Definitely better than a lot of those marvel movies.
I would honestly put ‘Days of Future Past’ so much higher on the MCU list. It’s top five for me. One of the more creative and entertaining superhero movies I’ve ever seen.
THE BEST CBM ever made IMO. Even the scene in Quicksilver's basement was far more perfect than almost anything I've seen in the MCU. It's like with every shot and angle, we literally learn something new about Quicksilver, from what he loves (Twinkies and Pong) to how he thinks and feels. And that's just one scene. The fights with the Sentinel Xs were insanely powerful. Spider-Man 2 was my favorite CBM until this masterpiece came out of nowhere and OMG, it blew my fucking mind. I didn't think the 7th film could be that good.
That main X-men movie theme you're referring to, it started in X2 and was brought back in Days of Future Past. It was like Bryan Singer was reaching out to fans saying "I'M SORRY I LEFT YOU GUYS BUT I'M BACK!" when you heard that theme song again.
Ah but this movie doesn't feature lines like "I have famously huge turds" or CGI fights so goddamn bad that they could've easily been taken from PS2 game like the shit in Black Panther. So you know its garbage.
Just re-watched this as part of my X-Men rewatch and I was stunned. Absolute banger. The best X-Men film with a bullet. Given the messiness of the prior entries, I'm blown away with what they were able to achieve here. A stylish, thrilling take on the Days of Future Past story with incredible performances from McAvoy, Fassbender and Jackman, and the melding of all mutants, past and present, into one cohesive film, is magical. Golf clap tbh.
The XMen universe doesn't get enough credit. Its exactly where DCEU wants to be where their movies aren't really as dark as the DCEU but isn't cracking a joke every 3 lines like the MCU. They sit in this gray area in-between and its perfect.

Quick reply to Tim: The ending with Striker being Mystique, implies that that Charles and Mystique SAVED Wolverine. Him not remembering anything anymore, likely left to live his own life. The real Stryker likely found him later to do the Weapon X project. Hence Apocalypse
This Quicksilver is the better Quicksilver. That's been established. What I find hilarious though is that *this* Quicksilver would have survived Age of Ultron.
Super late but for future reference, Nick brings up the "I don't know Karate, but I know K-razy," around 43:30. This would've been a somewhat "hip" reference to the James Brown song The Payback, which released in 1973.
My ranking so far: 1. X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) 2. X-Men: First Class (2011) 3. The Wolverine Unleashed Cut (2013) 4. X2: X-Men United (2003) 5. X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) 6. X-Men (2000) 7. X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)
Nick is right and if you didn't live in a bubble you would understand that this movie is considered far better than most mcu films. See the imdb and rt scores
The way I think about it, Origins: Wolverine is already not considered canon, even before the timeline change in Days of Future Past. When Wolverine wakes up in the 70s, he's working as hired muscle for gangsters in New York. In Origins during this time, he's in the Vietnam war and afterwards is working with 40-year-old Stryker in Task Force X. Also during all the flashback scenes, the only footage from Origins that is used is a shot of Wolverine's bone claws being snapped and nothing else.
Mystique's random array of skills and abilities is ridiculous and stupid in this. In the comics she's as old as Wolverine and was born in the Victorian era, so it makes sense that she's learn a million abilities and languages. Here....she's like 20 years old, and she spent most of them as a scrubby orphan, CLEARLY not going to school. It doesn't make any sense.
What makes me the most confused, at the end when "The Logan" is pulled from the water, Stryker is Mystique. His eyes glow yellow leading me to believe that Raven rescued Wolverine so stryker DID NOT have him to experiment on. So in that case "ORIGINS" didn't happen...at least not the way it is portrayed. Logan is recruited during Vietnam, this movie starts when Vietnam ends. 10 years after that, Victor "kills" silver fox and pushes The Logan to accept the experiment. That doesn't happen clearly since the soft reboot of First Class, so maybe Stryker remembers Logan from earlier in this film and knows that he is prime for Weapon X program, but when or how he got him to do it is still unknown! Though a scene in Apocalypse MAY clear this up but I don't remember and i will wait till next Thursday to watch it. At least to me i'm confused...does anyone else have a better idea cuz it is still doesn't make sense.
I strongly believe that the fact that this movie did what marvel did with infinity war 4 years before the mcu with a worst timeline and many retcons, manage to have a more interesting story line than many mcu movies, kinda fixed and erased movies like origins and last stand, give the perfect sent off too my first childhood superheroes (at least for me) and looking all well and alive with that beautiful last scene that only gives me goosebumps and nostalgia the first time i saw it, makes it one of the best superheroes movies of all time, around a top 10, also because every shot and the way they manage to make the movie on a 70s setting and worked so well with amazing visual in regards of the time period, makes it even better than any other modern superheroe film with only working on the present settings. The editing and directing was amazing. I love letter to the xmen movie fans to be honest. (cant defend apocalypse with 80s setting because that movie had so many problems)
Greg is correct, Apocalypes wasn't nearly as bad as everyone made it out to be. It will end up being in their top 6 I bet (assuming the include the Deadpool movies in this, if not it will be in their top 5 for sure)
‘First Class’, ‘Wolverine’ and ‘Days of Future Past’ would all place on the MCU list. Maybe the guys are forgetting just how bad ‘Thor: Dark Elves’ is.
I'm with the champ, this easily contends with some of the MCU, at the very least the bottom 10. The Quicksilver scene and Magneto pulling Mystique by the bullet are two of the most memorable superhero moments whereas Ant-Man and Doctor Strange I immediately forgot the next day.
Omg! Beast and mangos.......... I will never be able to think about both the same, and I have this to thank for that! Great job gents! This has to be a done IRL at SDCC lol.

Yes, all the good Xmen movies are here and coming up. There should be a segment where if you had to stick them in the MCU list, where would they rank? Have to say, Logan......top 5 in the MCU list.
Quicksilver and Stryker were rewritten into this movie. That's why it doesn't make sense. The guy who plays Stryker in this movie was cast to play Juggernaut.
They had to shoot the same actors doing the exact same thing in the France scene with mystique beating everyone up multiple times. I don't know how they did it so well but they did.
It's INFINITELY stupid to shoot Mystique when you're trying to prevent the villains from getting her DNA. You know, that shit she BLEEDS ALL OVER THE PLACE WHEN YOU SHOOT HER. SO fucking dumb.
Erik made a mistake. Without that mistake, the movie could've ended right there. Instead, we got another amazing sequence with the Sentinel X. So I'm happy.
For the love of God why hasn't anyone explained to them that X-Men Origins: Wolverine was very quickly determined by the people that made this film to not be a part of official cannon?
fyi guys in the original story kitty pryde isn't the one who has the power to send the mind back in time. it's a character called rachel summers who is the daughter of cyclops and jean grey. she sends kitty pryde back to the past (rather than wolverine) obviously in this continuity with cyclops and jean grey dead, they can't use rachel summers. in the films kitty pryde wasn't alive in the 70s so she can't be the one sent back. So they used wolverine, which makes sense. it's not comic accurate, kitty's never had those powers, her role in the film is merely a nod to her importance in the og story.
I can kinda explain how it makes sense, but what has that got to do with my comment. tim was talking about kitty pryde's ability to send someones mind back in time making no sense. before deciding not to get to worried about it cause "she did it in the comics too" i was pointing out that was wrong. i was pointing out the kitty pryde's new power indeed doesn't quite add up...didn't talk about wether there were issues with the wolverine bit.
So greg's main issue is that in origins he gets shot in the head and loses all his memories, so why is he able to repair and remember in in this film. If he does it then why didn't they repair when he was shot. First thing to point out is greg's comment is wrong. when he get's shot in the head with the silver bullet, he doesn't completely lose his memories. in the original films He has flashbacks of being experimented on & professor x is able to probe his mind find these memories and wants to work with logan in unlocking them and understanding his past. So his memories are still in tact. for a normal human being shot in the head, if it doesn't kill you, you'll have significant brain damage and huge memory loss. and once memeories are gone they can't be returned. But in the film it doesn't do that to logan. the fact it doesn't and he clearly has these memories (though locked away by the brain) shows in prior films they establish that wolverine can regenerate memories. so by the rules set in prior films his brain & memories would survive the conciousness transfer, but as stated in the film would be very fragile and hard to maintain for him and kitty pryde. why doesn't he clearly remember them (outside of nightmares and fractured memories) ? When the brain goes through significant trauma (physical or mental), it can repress memeories as a survival instinct. that's what's happened to logan at the end of x-men origins. Over the course of the first film we learn his life has been extremely traumatic. at the end he get's shot in the head, his brain "dies" & has to reboot/restore everything inc memories, which it's able to. But the brain doesn't want to go through that trauma again so as a precaution it blacks out memories that could repeat the trauma. this is shown in dofp too, because they tell him emotional distress could cause issues. when he sees stryker in the past he freaks out. and his brain represses his memories again to survive. then when it all calms down & striker is gone he stabilises.
I need some explanation about the JKF plot. So Eric bent the trajectory of the bullet in an effort to save him, but the bullet killed him anyway? How does that happen? Did the shooter miss but Eric corrected for him?
Nick is a crazy person.... Better then Black Panther!?!?! Kevin hit the nail on the head. Beast and the mango... Perfect reason to stop the morning show. Going back now. This show is amazing!

Kevin to Poochi v5 transformation.....complete
I need some explanation about the JKF plot. So Eric bent the trajectory of the bullet in an effort to save him, but the bullet killed him anyway? How does that happen? Did the shooter miss but Eric corrected for him?
Nick is a crazy person.... Better then Black Panther!?!?! Kevin hit the nail on the head. Beast and the mango... Perfect reason to stop the morning show. Going back now. This show is amazing!
