Come along with us van camping in our Winnebago Revel at Santee Lakes in San Diego. We got site 14, which was a lakeside RV Site. We go fishing, watch scary movies in the dark and make memories.
We also get a little deep and talk about relationships and letting go of ego.

Love when you post videos on Sunday so I can chill and watch them. It got me thinking about how I need to spend more time outside enjoying nature. As a single guy I didn’t give it a second thought that he wanted to go home, that’s one of the benefits of camping close to home, I think! We’re blessed to have such beautiful nature right here in our backyard
Yes, definitely get outdoors, bring your fave foods and drinks and enjoy our city! We certainly pay a premium for our weather lol, so might as well enjoy!

I'm sorry Donnie and the girls had to cut short on their camping trip with you but somehow you still managed to enjoy the camping trip with your family at this beautiful camp site. Micah! Hoping you and your loved ones are safe from everything going on there. Such a heartbreaking tragedy. I got the camp friendship bracelet ideas because I saw a friend posting about getting them at a concert he recently went too and I thought, what a cool way to connect and have some in the van in case we ever meet new people or friends/fam come visit us at a site. you make van camping look so fun and aesthetic, I'm usually not an outdoor person but this makes me want to rent a van 🥹 the site looks so peacefully perfect, it's such a shame about the pups! and totally agree, ego & insecurities in relationships does not mesh well, sometimes it takes a second to catch myself before acting standoff-ish too but it helps to have an understanding partner to grow with! PS the drone shots are gorgeous 😍
Omg you should totally look into renting a van! From a lot of the van life channels I watch, Canada seems to have so many amazing places to explore. Hopefully one day we can get the courage to take that road trip! And hey, it's never too late, I didn't get into my outdoorsy era until my 30s 😂

You have done a great job with your Van set up! The site was really nice that you got to stay in. Honestly if your spouse is feeling crappy, it's just going to bring everyone else's good vibes down and then your trip becomes a bad experience and memory. It was good that he drove so he was able to go back home with the girlies and get the rest he needed. That is really unfortunate about all the dog rules... 😑
Yes! We didn't need this negative energy and negative energy doesn't always have to be sinister or come from a place of trying to be negative. TBH, if he stayed we both would have probably came home emotionally drained and instead, we reunited back home both feelings great ❤️

Did they give you a reason pet fences were not allowed? Camping can be hard with dogs. Looks like a nice area. 💖
I can see no dogs on the deck though.
I did ask the ranger and he said that they don't want owners leaving their dogs unattended which is totally understandable. But maybe that should be the rule. At the end of the day, ended up being my fault as I looked at the Pet FAQ on their site when I got home and it did list no pet fence. I just never ran into that in any other campgrounds but at least now I know to check for it.
That looked like a nice place to camp. Sorry Donny didn't feel well enough to stay. That is crazy that you couldn't have the gate for the dogs. Why don't they just say no pets as they have so many restrictions'. My brother used to live in Santee. Is that where you said you were? Glad you enjoyed your mini vacation.
Hey Cathy! Yes, Santee area. Yea I was pretty bummed about the pet fence. We've camped in a lot of places before the van and not once were there any rules out pet fencing. I find it actually safer because even though campgrounds enforce leashes, not everyone follows that and I've seen one too many dog fights, so for the little ones, a fence is a must. Hope you had a great weekend!
