I am so grateful to read these wonderful comments. To know that so many appreciate and love Judy Garland so much, especially so many young people. Just to know that this younger generation is not missing the magic of the Judy Experience . I do listen to Judy everyday but I also watch her movies pretty much every day and have seen every movie she has made and all of her appearances and TV shows. I read everything on TH-cam and have pictures of her on my walls. I even ask God in my daily prayers to give her my love and let her know or remind her how much so many love her and appreciate her and will never forget what a legend she is. Thank you again for continuing praise. It is important to the world and to the new generations.
Saw the incredible Judy in concert in San Francisco, right after her Carnegie Hall triumph. From the moment she stepped on stage, she had the packed Civic Auditorium on their feet, cheering...and we never sat down. Hers was an incredible talent.
What an amazing blessing! I would have given a lot to have seen her sing live, but she died before I was born. My grandmother and I used to watch her movies together, and now that I teach people to sing, I try to pay forward the joy that Judy brings, to those I teach!❤❤❤
Four dislikes. Who are you people? Do you prefer voices generated by computers? This is talent at its finest. 100% real. Shame on you for disliking. You lot must like the Kardashians and Kayne West.
Let me say that Garland's voice and talent have been a friend to me since I heard the first few cords of the beginning of "Judy at Carnegie Hall". Garland's voice and talent continue on through all of her film and recorded work. Thank you JUDY, I'll be listening for you. KOR-
Judy knocked the ending of this song right out of the ballpark! She poured her talent out through every syllable of this song to an incredibly climactic ending! We will never see anyone come close to her talent or dedication again.
I literally have "no words" to describe this beautiful human being. I listen to her all day every day and its depressing when I have to listen to the garbage on the radio. I honor Judy in my little way by listening to her records on my old record player. I love and will always love Judy Garland!!!
Judy Garland was born to be a singer. Despite her tragic private life, her career as a singer always glittered. Lots of her fans, including me, still love her. She was just like an angel, who sacrificed herself to bring joy and happiness to her fans.
This woman gave her all when performing. Judy Garland will long be remembered way after other PERFORMERS have long gone. Her voice so distinctive that you did not even have to here her name before she sang a song. Way above the top entertainers and yes I believe that she was robbed of the Oscar for a star is born . However Judy will always be remembered while whoever won is probably long forgotten.
Yes, but I would not wish her life on anyone. Growing up on stage, then a studio, being fed pep pills, sleeping pills, diet pills from the time she was young, no one to protect her or guide her when she was a child. There are few stories more tragic
No singer can touch Judy Garland: past or present!! What a voice!! She was a very good actress and good dancer as well. What do we have these days. Madonna, Beyoncé, Lady G a Ga ( every time I hear her sing I GA GA) etc.
Judy poured her heart and soul into THIS and every performance!!! She truly knew how to captivate an audience, and when she was on the stage she went from 4 ft.10 to a skyscraper!!🔥🔥😉❤️
People who have never seen Judy Garland in person can never understand the persona behind this singer.... so emotional, so talented, such and ability to convey to the audience like none other.... well there will never be another!
Garland improvised this whole scene (my uncle worked on the set.) The song is not a great one but she makes it seem great. The footage captures her as she was in thousands of concerts, She is basically playing herself here. I saw her in live concerts. I can't describe the effect she had on her audiences. Not one gimmick. Just a great artist giving 200%. At her best, no one could touch her. She always moved the audience.
+JoyceEast Since I made this clip and wrote the description, I know what it says. Judy is singing to playback in this scene. The opening lines before she sings were somewhat ad-libbed, though.
Absolutely Jeh... me too I saw her live as well.... tiny little thing... fabulous. This song in this movie is shite... Not Judy... the producers forced her to sing this... and then whats his name in years later slandered her again... remember star is born..... because he didnt understand her and that she was forced to do this shite because, once again, contracted without content approval. Bastards... singing about a fucking cow LOL she today would have loved our comments and agreed... Judy always alive... through us. Jeh. peace and love.
Even when her voice cracks on occasion she is still a mesmerizing presence and soooo much better than anyone else! Forget technical singing she rises above this with sheer PRESENCE and a magical stage management with no peer. She was definitely something ethereal and I am a non- believer.
The BEST singer, actress, dancer of all time!! No one even come close to her. Her movments and acting choices are so organic so perfect. I LOVE the ending "With My Heart on the Wings of a Song". All her gestures are so real. She's always fresh no matter how many times you've seen her. Judy touches your soul. Not even Streisand can do that.( I'm not sure she has a soul! ) I love you Judy!!
Soulful Garland performance show the magic of Judy Garland and her amazing character, by this time in front of audiences for decades she had it all down to perfection, then there is that amazing voice...wish she would have gone on singing longer, nobody compares.
when you watch a performance like that you don't say anything you just enjoy the moment, and that you have witnessed something that words cannot describe, amazing lady and an amazing talent.
Thanks for posting a clip from this undeservedly often overlooked British film. The character she played resonated strongly with her own life experience and there are some well written scenes and songs.
At the time I viewed this video, there were 2 dislikes. Wonder if these 2 think people like Beyonce or perhaps Madonna etc., are great talents. SO sad if it is true. Todays youth, and even going back say 10 20 30 years, have not been exposed to true talent like Judy. Or for that matter, Pavarotti,Chalplin, Mozart, Gershwin, Kelly and Astaire, Arnstrong, you get the idea. It should be mandatory that all kids watch Graland.
From 1:26 the Treatment Room scene runs unbroken for almost six minutes. Bogarde said Judy asked him to rewrite it at the last minute and they rehearsed it for six hours, but many reviewers thought it was improvised. All Neame did was to move the camera slowly into a tighter two-shot: Dirk selflessly keeps his face turned away and the lighting somehow transforms Jenny from a grumpy, sullen frump into a pretty little thing. Unfortunately the former persona would predominate in her last six years.
This is a very good movie. Did you notice her kids Lorna and Joey Luft in the scene on the ferry boat?Proof Judy loved her kids and took them with her.
Anastasia Beaverhausen I believe that the ethos behind the Arlen and Harburg lyrics to this song was that Judy could, if given the opportunity, sing ANY song.. Probably even the phone directory!
At LAST! Anastasia...... someone who knows..... and agrees fab darling.... hope to see your comments regarding Judy elsewhere... love and peace to you. but honestly you can hear in the voice she hated it. LOL would never sing that shite again, unless forced... Judy forever.
MyOzzio I disagree. I don't think Judy's voice conveys at all that she hated this song. She was a sport and sung the song in this clip with her usual gusto and class. It is indeed a pedestrian song which, sung by any other singer, would be mediocre. But that's the 'Garland touch'.
I always thought of this as a sad song here is a wonderful lady who was just taken advantage of. Listen to her first movies then her later ones and then this one, she looks and sounds like a completely different women however that last lyric is so true, no matter what she just kept on singing.
Great job! Unrecognized for her dramatic talent, Judy pulls out everything she has in her bag of tricks to put over a rather mediocre song. If this had been an "A" picture, she certainly would have gotten an Oscar nod, if not win. I've read that "Go On Singing" tanked at the BO and that's a shame. Someone with Judy's undeniable magic: how would YOU like it if someone woke you up at 6am and said "We've got to get this scene now, so....Sparkle! ....NOW!!" I can tell you what I would have said to them and it wouldn't have made it past that "production code".
Such a tragedy, in this film you get the impression the whole way through it is not acting, it is simply Judy. And reading her biography and what went on behind the scenes, you understand that is true.
I just love this. I can't stop thinking about, what if she just stopped with the pills, and never went back to MGM or Warner Bro's, or why didn't she just stay with Vincente Minnelli. R.I.P Judy Garland
Oh. A couple of years ago a good friend asked me to convert a bunch of LP|vinyls & a huge box of cassette tapes -- his favorite "oldtimie religious music" collection -- to CD's. He had a good converter to digitize LP|vinyl & cassette tapes & gave it to me to use. The problem is, of course, home converters have no way to sense "end ot track" positions. All must be done manually by rote listening to the tracks & on|off with the digitizer -- boring after a while but nice listening to good music!!
I must presume -- barring exhumation of her vocal chords -- that the "stereo" dual and variant sound tracks were FX added to make two separately discerned audio signals. But, with the "borrowed" and FX enhanced extra tracks, did anyone ever call ASCAP even for simple notice? Well, don't blame me, I would have had I known!! Judy as always sound perfect regardless!! From: Dr. Elyas Fraenkel Isaacs, PhD, DPH, DDiv.
Doesn't matter if the song was good or bad, when Judy sang, it was brilliant!!!
It’s not just her voice it’s her presentation! Such an incredible artist.
I am so grateful to read these wonderful comments. To know that so many appreciate and love Judy Garland so much, especially so many young people. No one could grab and hold an audience like Judy.
I wish she could have been as happy as she made others feel.
Four dislikes. Who are you people? Do you prefer voices generated by computers? This is talent at its finest. 100% real. Shame on you for disliking. You lot must like the Kardashians and Kayne West.
Anyone not loving this is simply a moron! Probably young idiots! Definitely idiots!
God Given Talent ❤ ✝️
Kids, it just doesn't get any better than this. A star, a mega talent...a legend - Judy Garland.
Just some help with your assessment. The star. The mega talent... THE legend - Judy Garland.
Let me say that Garland's voice and talent have been a friend to me since I heard the first few cords of the beginning of "Judy at Carnegie Hall". Garland's voice and talent continue on through all of her film and recorded work. Thank you JUDY, I'll be listening for you. KOR-

Maybe the greatest singing/performer of all time. Just never bored with her. First singer to fill football stadiums and still leave people outside.
Just love that song after all these years I still can’t get enough of Ulysses Garland
What a phenomenal performer
Can’t get enough of this phenomenal woman work the audience like no one in the business ever could
Judy Garland Best Performance Ever
I literally have "no words" to describe this beautiful human being. I listen to her all day every day and its depressing when I have to listen to the garbage on the radio. I honor Judy in my little way by listening to her records on my old record player. I love and will always love Judy Garland!!!
It seems incredible today that Judy wasn't nominated at least for a Golden Globe for this one!
Judy Garland was born to be a singer. Despite her tragic private life, her career as a singer always glittered. Lots of her fans, including me, still love her. She was just like an angel, who sacrificed herself to bring joy and happiness to her fans.

Grace Kelly
The greatest female entertainer no one has ever come close to . Its sad music artists to day cannot get anywhere near this lady for over all talent .
The greatest entertainer period!!!
Yes, but I would not wish her life on anyone. Growing up on stage, then a studio, being fed pep pills, sleeping pills, diet pills from the time she was young, no one to protect her or guide her when she was a child. There are few stories more tragic

This is another performance that added to her title as "one take Judy". So magical.
Garland improvised this whole scene (my uncle worked on the set.)

jeh500 I'm sure she improvised her movements, but she is singing to a pre-recorded vocal track.
+Broadway Classics
Please read the clip description……
+JoyceEast Since I made this clip and wrote the description, I know what it says. Judy is singing to playback in this scene. The opening lines before she sings were somewhat ad-libbed, though.
A VERY bad movie with the great voice... The great Judy Voice! Who cares! There is no movie with no playback until today ... if a singer ...
There are no words to describe her...oh wait, just one...LEGEND
This woman was one of the greats of her time, god blessed her with a magical voice that could make you smile.
Even when her voice cracks on occasion she is still a mesmerizing presence and soooo much better than anyone else! Forget technical singing she rises above this with sheer PRESENCE and a magical stage management with no peer. She was definitely something ethereal and I am a non- believer.
Any unsteadiness in her voice was written into this scene - Judy (as "Jenny") had just gone through a "wringer" in the scene previous to this.
Judy is simply the best at what she does
Her total body response at 3:50 should have put an Academy Award in her hands.
YES YES YES
I think you mean should have.
Not really top drawer Arlen & Harburg but Judy transforms it to pure gold. Absolute magic
I love Streisand but Judy was Judy!
Streisandd???? Liza darling... Barbara cant sing a not without massive amplification!
Streisand is by far the superior vocalist....but the two are legends.
Another armchair critic
You. Had to ruin it with a dig to babs? Unecessary
At the end, at 5:53 she looks up at the audience, it's only for a second or two, but the expression on her face is heartbreaking.
she is other-worldly.....never before or since has someone captivated me the way she does...... every. single. time.
its been the same for me since I was a child
There is never too much Judy.
My God.....no words, only tears fall! There has never been another
Never seen this before. BUT WHAT A TALENT. She could sell a song like nobody else.
judy garland was a mega super star no one ever can be like her x
There's NO ONE BETTER! LOVE IT!
Staggering talent. Brings me to tears of joy.
Soulful Garland performance show the magic of Judy Garland and her amazing character, by this time in front of audiences for decades she had it all down to perfection, then there is that amazing voice...wish she would have gone on singing longer, nobody compares.
Judy could sing the telephone book and whom would be bored?
Love you Judy ❤🎉🎉🎉
when you watch a performance like that you don't say anything you just enjoy the moment, and that you have witnessed something that words cannot describe, amazing lady and an amazing talent.
No other singer has ever come close to the power, charisma, emotional range, etc. - as Judy Garland. NO ONE!
Maybe accept Elvis 😌.
My grandad and dad was lucky enough to see her in London in 69! How lucky they were!❤
This song was written by Harold Arlen and EY Harburg. The two also wrote Over The Rainbow, Judy Garland’s signature song.
Thanks for posting a clip from this undeservedly often overlooked British film. The character she played resonated strongly with her own life experience and there are some well written scenes and songs.
Garland was a genius! Thanks for letting us share this.
Judy's singing reminds me of a breaking heart begging you to love it back to together again.
Such a legend and will always be my favourite thank you for sharing this 💖
Dear LORD! I am brought to tears every time I listen to this woman sing! athey dont make em lime that anymore do they!
This song expresses my passion for singing.....and I love singing it, too!!! Thank you for sharing!!! I love Judy in this movie!!!
Wonderful.Sometimes you're lost for words....
Thanks for posting. Wish Judy was still with us.
Such an ENORMOUS talent, the saddest story in show business!
At the time I viewed this video, there were 2 dislikes. Wonder if these 2 think people like Beyonce or perhaps Madonna etc., are great talents. SO sad if it is true. Let's hope they're disliking my work rather than Judy's...
I'm 15 and I prefer older music and films, they're better than today's junk :)
TALENT OF HER KIND IS KISSED BY GOD AND NEVER LUCKY ENOUGH TO LAND ON THE EARTH BUT A FEW TIMES.
+James Doyle So true.
I'AM A SINGER AND ADORE TALENT SHE KNEW HOW TO HOLD AN AUDIENCE.
Two thumbs up! What an elegant performance! She looks gorgeous. Absolutely stunning.
Magic.
God I love you and miss you Judy Garland, may you rest in peace
There was no one like her...not even close!!!

her voice is so calming to me
she was magic on stage! she had so much energy and talent. thanks for posting! (:
Amazing
Love the quality! This is one of my favourite Judy songs, and accurately describes my love for singing!
This is a very good movie. Did you notice her kids Lorna and Joey Luft in the scene on the ferry boat?Proof Judy loved her kids and took them with her.
Judy was so good she could take crap lyrics like these and make it sound like you want to listen to it a couple million times.
These lyrics are better than many songs we have today.
Anastasia Beaverhausen I believe that the ethos behind the Arlen and Harburg lyrics to this song was that Judy could, if given the opportunity, sing ANY song.. Probably even the phone directory!
Yip Harburg - crap lyrics? Sacrilege.
At LAST! Anastasia...... someone who knows..... and agrees fab darling.... hope to see your comments regarding Judy elsewhere... love and peace to you. but honestly you can hear in the voice she hated it. LOL would never sing that shite again, unless forced... Judy forever.

sean solis the best scene in the film is in the ER. Blunt brutal brilliant
Only she could do that! Noone else....
LA INMORTAL JUDY ! 🌹❤️🌹
Happy Birthday to Judy Garland & her legacy!
An American Genius.
thank you again for the re-master!
Happy to give Judy the sound she deserves!
Perfection ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Such a talent!
One of my Favorites!!
She was magic!!!!!!!!

Such an amazing and iconic talent but yet I find myself so Melancholy when I watch her
Perfection..thank youx
my favorite by her!!!
Oh if only I could talk to her today and tell her that she is just so good and that I will walk with her and not leave her.
Oh she's wonderful
Beautiful

Nothing like it ever again....
The LP has been released on CD, and I took the track from that.
I just love this. I can't stop thinking about, what if she just stopped with the pills, and never went back to MGM or Warner Bro's, or why didn't she just stay with Vincente Minnelli. R.I.P Judy Garland
Perhaps because she wanted a husband who wasn't sleeping with other men.
Broadway Classics True, but most of her husband's slept with other men and women, I think
Frank Sinatra said every time Judy sings she dies a little. She gave it her all to be sure. A true artist.
Exelent picture
The stereo track comes from the LP, which was released in full stereo. Nothing was enhanced, Dr. Isaacs.
Oh. A couple of years ago a good friend asked me to convert a bunch of LP|vinyls & a huge box of cassette tapes -- his favorite "oldtimie religious music" collection -- to CD's. He had a good converter to digitize LP|vinyl & cassette tapes & gave it to me to use.

EPIC
Very interesting story behind the shoot... not a great song but great performance of it
Her entrance exchange with the audience is pretty much how she was in real life on stage.
Oh Lord please stop!
Does anyone know which key Judy is singing this? I have the sheet music for this song, but it's in a different key, and I want to have it transposed.
Does anyone know which key Judy sang this in? The original key was Bb major, but it's probably a 2nd or 3rd lower.
The last two words... "singing day"... WTF does that mean?
"A song-singing day"
@@ralphewell8398 Some secret language of dolphins?
I could see her as a comedian
And she did
