With my NN in 12th house Scorpio, I also resonate daily with Steven's final thought on the need for spiritual solitude and a thoughtful preparation and reflection of my own letting go and dying process. It's fascinating listening to this as I am in the exact center of my 2nd Saturn cycle. My 1st Saturn return was Dec. 2009 (15 yrs ago) and my next will be Dec. 2039 (15 yrs from now). And I've made the visions of that 1st cycle real. I have the career that I want and I'm at the top level in it. There is one more vision that I want to make real in the 2nd half of this 2nd cycle. But right here in the middle, I've been feeling a great sense of accomplishment and culmination on multiple levels. So this video found me at the right time.

Also, insight that my relationship with my grandchild: three 14 year old and a 11year old whole I can see that I have a fun, mentoring relationship. That was special, thank you - on my second Saturn Return - 15 Pisces - exact last week. The sample chart was close to mine, too - even with a Capricorn Moon. I was once asked about the Saturn/ Neptune trine in my chart, as in this one - and I came out with "practical spirituality" which really fits with the Sag S Node and Saturn in Pisces, too. What may seem a 'different' way of looking at religion and spirituality is very practical for me.
That was amazing! I’m currently in my 2nd Saturn return, Pisces 1st house, with similar placements as the other chart, Chiron there, opposing natal Pluto and Uranus, nodes in Gemini/Sag. this was fabulous, thank you. my second saturn return, 8th house saturn in capricorn, has been a very long affair. starting during the covid lockdowns and just ending now with pluto lingering in capricorn. during the first pass of saturn pluto was exactly conjunct my natal saturn along with my progress sun. i guess that i am one of the few people that were grateful for the covid lockdowns as it gave me the time and space to dive deep into this saturn return. the crushing weight of this transit was very difficult at times but i have not splintered, i have condensed. like a diamond i hope!
My first Saturn return was great. My 2nd Saturn return was the absolute worst. I think it depends on who you are and where you're at in your life when these returns happen. So I wouldn't say one will be harder or easier than the other. Also there may be other things in your chart going on at the same time that totally affect the situations in your life. So this has been interesting to hear.

Looking back when I was 29, it was some of the best times of my life ages 25 to 31. Then Pluto stared sweeping through my planets in Scorpio and after that my Sagittarius rising. So many years of butt kicks. 😂
I was looking at the 2nd Saturn Return being the entry into the elder, and as Steven said, a time of giving what we have learned to others. It struck me that, as I am going through the early years of this time, I think I don’t have much to give, that I’m still learning, and that I need to cling to the middle volume of life for this. But then, as I speak to others, things come out of me that I didn’t really know were there, and I wonder if maybe this third elder volume knows what it is doing, that there is some wisdom to be given and passed on, and maybe it is in the giving that we realize what we have developed within us.
Beautiful. I don’t know that you have to say, “okay, now I’m a wise elder”, you will be learning until the ride is over, but as you say, you probably have more wisdom to share than you realize. I’m a much better astrologer at 50 than I was at 35 simply because of the life lessons and maturity, not because I know more astrology. Thanks for sharing 🦋

I think the 3rd Saturn return would be dealing with the collective - understanding your place in the Universe, self reflection and letting go of mental, emotional and physical attachments.
I lost my Dad during my first Saturn return. My Dad lost his Dad during his first Saturn return. My niece lost her Dad (my brother) during her first Saturn return. 😢

I can’t speak for him but without looking at the entire chart I’d talk to you about channeling your energy of this time into a great work that serves others. Offering your leadership from a heart centered, humanitarian cause. I would caution against escapist tendencies under stress.
On the topic of people living longer and by the 3rd Saturn return might need to spend time alone with spirit/God, I am concerned lately, I have noticed that many people are becoming ill with dementia or other memory robbing brain disorders, how can they reconcile their lives in the lead up to death? I assume spirit does the work for them but I wander what Steven thinks.
Yes, that is a great question. My mother is currently suffering from dementia and it does have its challenges for conscious growth but I pray often that her psyche is working things out in ways maybe I just can’t understand.
In my family literally everyone makes it to their mid-90s so I don't even conceive not having a 3rd Saturn return! With better care we have a lot of people in that 3rd cycle. Time to update astrologers! 🤣
My 2nd saturn return didn't have anything to do with my age or looks. I was still young and looked great. My 2nd saturn return had to do with loss and grief. So as I said in my other comment, I think it's very individual. I never had a problem of worrying about age or looks. I guess I was lucky in that respect. Plus...I don't think 60 is old. I think 80 is old. But even then, there are many 80 year olds that are still young and vibrant.....and not boring at all. So I guess I'm confused about the talk of how 60 year olds are boring. Young people can be very boring.
I think you are right - very individual. I knew “old” people in their 40’s and a gorgeous, young spirit in her 80’s. I think Steven is referring to societal and historical perceptions. Steven is 76 - I don’t consider him old and I don’t think considers himself old either.
