Completely agree here, great analysis. Loved the leverage statistic you shared. I was trusting Soto more by the end of the year. Overall, I think the Orioles are taking a huge risk with the bullpen this year though.
I'd rather trade for Cease and offer a 4 year/$100 Million contract extension or Bryce Miller and offer up Mayo or Jackson. Also, I'd love for the O's to sign Bregman to a 3/75 contract.move Westy to 2nd and Trade Jackson for a pitcher.
Hey Connor, mailbag question for you, related to roster prediction. Let's say both Holiday and Mayo have great off-seasons, they do all of the things the organization is looking from them, then they come into ST and look more than good enough to make the team. How could they both make the team with Mateo also being healthy?
I really like Perez and I hope he has a huge shutdown year this year. Last year when I watched him come into a game it looked as though he Hoped he had the right stuff that day. Then he would get on the mound and it seemed that he would be behind in the count to the first batter he faced. Relievers can't nibble, they gotta come in and get ahead in the count from the start. If you throw your best options early and the batter hits it you have a great defense behind you. The hitters they face are professionals too, they want to work the count in their favor and pick their pitch.
Just another reminder how life is so unpredictable, RIP Brian Matusz, 37 far too young.

Mailbag question: Castillo for Urias, Beavers, and Kremer? Who says no? What would a package look like now that we have so many starting options?

That seems fine considering how much 💰 is owed to Castillo? But we also have to beat other teams offers.
