My family has Always called this Goloush. I've never known any other name but it surebus delicious especially with garlic bread. I can't find that BBQ bread anywhere these days. I use to get it all the time but no more. I see that Falon is able to get it. I may ask her to send me some!

I've always known that as goulash. I don't add green peppers, because I can't stand them, and I don't bake it. Just dish it right out of the pan. I love it.

Leslie, that is Goulash that you are making there. It is always always a hit when I make it.
As far as adding the sugar, I always add it to my sauces. It helps to cut the acid in the tomatoes
Love you darlin. I am 77 years old and I watch you as much as I can.

"Leslie's Macaroni Bake" sounds good, fast and easy to say. I like to make it, too. It's sort of a classic self-concoction! The cheddar goes with macaroni, like mozarella goes with spaghetti. (IMO)

Omgness been looking for a recipe like this. My uncle use to make this but all on top of the stove, but with kidney beans added to your recipe. It brought me to tears. Literally. Let me tell you, he passed away many years ago. When I was little, our house caught on fire. We lived with him for a few days and with my other uncle for a bit until we found a house. Well he had 6 people in his family and we had 6 people in our family. Therefore he was looking for food that would feed a small army. He made this dish to feed us. I immediately fell in love with it. I looked for years upon years for this recipe. His kids told me that they knew the recipe, but couldn’t give it to me because it was his legacy. He wrote it in our county recipe book because he was our jailer. My grandma bought the book, I saw it. I asked her if I could write it down. She passed away before I got to get it. Then my cousin got all her recipe books, but denies it and having this book. I left it alone, because keeping peace in the family meant more to me than the recipe. Keeping family together means a lot more to me. Well, the moral of the story is the recipe slipped through my fingers again. But he called this dish goulash. I don’t know why but I was watching your apple pie video, but all of a sudden I went back and was thinking about uncle Gary and his goulash. Then this video came on the auto play I have on TH-cam. I am going through some difficult times now. I think this was Gods sign that he hears my pleas. He is here with me every step of the way. I truly feel that God is using you and you may not know it. Well, he used you today by letting me know he is here with me. I hope you get a blessing from reading this, because you have blessed me beyond measures. Even though I am writing this with tear filled eyes. Hugs....

Hi! This dish, which we in New England call American Chop Suey, is such a favorite comfort food. We were raised on it! Still make it weekly, but never the same way twice. Always using up things that are leftover in the refrigerator. It's the best 🤗🤗🤗

Hey Leslie, I made this dish for my kids and they loved it. I called it Goulash. You can use different kinds of pasta too. I liked the jumbo shells cause the sauce usually went in side the shells. Sometimes I would keep it in the pan or sometimes I would pour it in a baking dish and top it with Parmesan cheese and Ramono. I made a salad and garlic.bread. So there you have it my ole time Goulash. Take care and stay safe. Love you guys. ❤💕💖💝💞💗

I too had this recipe with no name, when I made it our 7 kids would make it disappear in no time almost before it was put on the table. We sat around the table one nite while we were eating discussing what we should name the dish. Our 7yr old said "Wolf & Poof" when asked why he said "we eat it fast like wolf it down and then poof it's gone." That 7yr old just celebrated his 39th birthday in April, So we now call it Woff & Poof" if you like the name you are more than welcomed to use the name too. to save the extra crushed tomatos that you have left just put it in a zip lock bag and freeze it until you need it. I too use sugar in any tomatoe sauce that I make. I just found you and I LOVE you and your family. I have spent the last 2 days (because I'm sick) binge watched your videos. Keep that grease hot.

we call it homemade hamburger helper...but we don't add the green peppers...might try that next time, looks good! we also never added sugar to this dish or shredded cheese. Also, we cook the macaroni in the dish by adding some water into the dish and adding the uncooked macaroni...comes out great...but we also don't make as much as you have ...our dish is about three quarters to 1LB of chop meat and 1/2 to 3/4 LB (box) of macaroni... all done on top of the stove :)

I call mines beefy macaroni too. That's also w hat my children call it. There's beef and macaroni. In it. We love our cheesy and saucy too. I keep some warm sauce on the side. Just in case. Nothing goes to waste in our house. We have some kind of rolls.. The point is its delicious. Yum . mmm mmm good. I agree with you too its also delicious before you put it in the oven. This is a keeper. I was planning to do this anyway then saw your video. I only add a little sugar because the sauce can be tangy and sugar balance it out. Also all I had was a yellow and red pepper so I used them they were small. We all know we use what we have. Love y'all. Respect and positivity always. The j family. Neita James.:-).
