Found your channel the other day and can't stop watching. Started fishing in 2020. I think you should add your sketches as a pdf file so we can download and do a follow along. Great content and thanks.
Outstanding job !! I love ultra light topwater bassin and have made 2" prop baits (balsa) every winter since I retired. Going to give this mouse a try. I don't have your artistic talent but I think I can put one on the water to catch a few. Once again, great little mouse !!
Hey brother! Just found your channel today when the great white lure got recommended to me! I’m from a small fishing town on Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia Canada, I’ve watched about 6 of your videos today and I’m going to share the hell out of your channel! Keep up the amazing unreal artwork I love it!
Hello, I enjoy your videos very much. I have a suggestion though. Maybe when you make another mouse if you do, you could make them pure white albino with bright, pink eyes, bright pink tail. I think it would look cool and maybe make him a little bigger, not much just maybe double the size is all.
It actually swims better than I thought it would, Nice work. I wondered a few times why some folk don't angle the wire back to help prevent it from pulling straight out but hey, good to see you doing this 👍 Did you ever catch anything with it? Nice dog by the way.
Quick question what paint do you recommend for this and what should i use for clear coat I’m trying to open a wooden swimbait stand in my local farmers market. And since I’m bad at painting I’m gonna let the person who buys it (no one prolly will) paint it and I’ll clear coat it and put hooks on it
I use airbrush paints (linked in the description), which I believe are basically acrylics. If you don't have an airbrush, you can always get started with spray paint. Don't be afraid to experiment! Good luck to you and thanks for your question.
Sorry for the late reply, these don't always show up in my feed. Another alternative is spray paint. You probably won't be able to get fine detail, but you can do some shading and scale patterns with mesh.
glad i found your channel, youre undervalued on here. Really good work. I was wanting to start making my own lures. What all tools should I get? doesnt matter price range as well i want quality. Thanks!
Good to hear you are interested in lure making! There are a lot of tools that you will accumulate, but I think the basics are: bandsaw, belt/disk sander, knife and drill. I have links to the stuff I use in the description which includes tools and components. Thanks for watching!
Aloha, I've been watching your TH-cam vids, such awesome work! Trying to get to that level, I recently had to change epoxy, (can't find envirotex that ships to Hawaii) I've been using what looks like the same you use, East Coast epoxy... I've been having trouble with bumps, (which I'm assuming it's from bubbles) I use a heat gun to remove them, bit it seems more appears when drying... It's a hit and miss to get a smooth final coat. Can you offer any advice?
Hello and welcome to the channel! It sounds like your heat gun is causing the bait to off gas. Try using a flame torch with quick passes to pop bubbles. You do not want to heat the lure. It is the cabon dioxide from the torch that will pop the bubbles, not heat. Hope that helps; Thanks for watching!
Hey dude awesome lure one question at the beginning it said there was a paid promotion maybe I didn’t pay close enough attention but who was the sponsor! Just curious
While I don't currently have a sponsor, I do have affiliate links in the description which I get a small percentage of if anyone buys something from those links. Thanks for watching!
I was tempted to leave it like that, but I just had to push it a little further. The thing that bothered me the most is how much the clearcoat filled in the hair texture. I might explore thinner clearcoats for this kind of lure. Perhaps a big rat lure?
@@zimmtex I was thinking while watching "run a dry brush down the direction of the hair to wipe off most of the thick clear coat off". I bet some of the tissue you used stuck to it 😬

Glad to have you here! I've got some ideas in the works including templates. Not sure when it will happen yet. I appreciate your support!
Great job, it was awesome to see how you went from drawing, to clay model, then to the finished product. Thanks for sharing your talent with others.
Thank you very much, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
A very interesting bait and a wonderful movie!
Thank you very much!
Absolutely beautiful work love your videos
Thank you!
Very much enjoyed this build. Life-like enough to do the job. Can’t wait to give this a try. Thanks.
It looks great in the water, the tail really makes it! I caught a little bass with it over Thanksgiving just as the sun was setting.
Great job brother👍👏awesome video, i enjoyed watching.

That mouse lure is awesome. What kind of wood and how thick is the wood that you made that mouse out of
Thank you! I believe I made this one out of poplar. I can get it in 1.5"x1.5"x3' boards locally.

Thanks! I catch bass with this lure; it does best at sunset.
This video deserves something like 100000 views at least!
Thanks, I hope so!
What a beauty!
Thank you, this was a fun build. I appreciate your support!
Nice job great action.

Ahh was hoping you'd do the weight test on the epoxy! That was a brill upload buddy the lure came out spot on well done 👍👍
Dang, I forgot; I had fully intended to do that! Thanks for reminding me. I appreciate you watching!
What do them cost in brown or black.
I appreciate your interest, but I don't have any lures for sale at this time. Thanks for watching!

zimmtex ok do you think regular paint would work and if so do you have any recommendations

@@zimmtex ok when I start making ill try that
Absolute art and perfection. The action was imho just right...but I'm not a fish. Amazing work friend.
I really appreciate your kind words. Thanks for watching!

Did I miss which wood you used. It looks like Poplar.
You are correct, its poplar. Thanks for watching!

Oh that make sense I bought some east coast epoxy and later saw your link and wished I had purchased it from your link but nonetheless great lure
Very nice! ; )
Thanks, I appreciate it!
In my opinion the airbrush paint job wasn't necessary, it was looking more natural with the burn marks fur. But still nice lure non the less 😉
