There seems to be alot of people doing some rubbish unboxings without any knowledge of the actual product, just want the clicks and show off their newest "toy." I got my set two days ago and been looking everywhere for an ACTUAL review, not just an unboxing of the set. Some of these people don't seem to know anything about Bruce Lee, of his life or son. They seem to have bought the set just because it's the knew thing.. Greetings from Finland.
Yes, the physical extras, the aesthetics, the artwork, etc., with Arrow's set are top notch, but it's the disc's content that excites me. I haven't watched all of it yet but the 3 hour Game Of Death documentary featuring ALL (as far as we know) of the footage Bruce shot for Game Of Death in '72 with Brandon Bentley's very informative commentary track is, alone, worth the price of this set! Even assuming you've seen the previously available GOD dailies, the greatly improved picture quality, the newly found footage, the background information, makes all the footage seen here seem new! This is easily the best Bruce Lee home video release yet, it's hard to imagine somebody else doing it better, thank you Arrow!
Absolutely!! There's so much to love about this whole collection and very little to disappoint. Can't wait to get stuck into the GOD discs over the next couple of nights :)
With regards to Enter the Dragon. The 1980 Warner VHS is the uncut version, the 1982 Warner VHS was the cinema cut version. I’ll be getting the 4K edition of ETD & swapping the discs over so the Arrow set will have all 5 films in 4K. It is an amazing amazing set. The Final Cut of Game of Death is absolutely fascinating. Arrow have really set the bar extremely high the attention to detail on the box art alone is phenomenal. If you move to France won’t you be crippled with custom charges from the UK.
I think mine is the 1980 version. And yes, I might pick up that 4K release of ETD soon! I'll just have my movies shipped to family here and then sent over when needed :)
This is the gold standard of 4k sets I just wish other 4k releases got even half this amount of effort 👌🏻 it's supposed to be the premier platform after all and most 4k releases just get a bog standard vanilla release with no special features
I remember the post cut enter the dragon UK VHS version I had. where they air brushed the chain out of the the nunchucks Bruce was holding. It looked like he was holding a large baguette. 😂
As someone with aspirations to emigrate to Spain one day, I'd love to see a video covering you moving to France with a giant phycial media collection lol.
Easily the best unboxing video by far,I was going back and forth on which set to get and as much as I love the yellow box art that is gorgeous I had to go with Tony Stella's beautiful individual artwork however both set sets are fantastic in their own unique way.👍
Mines (the OOP yellow Arrow exclusive one designed by a fellow Canadian BTW as you’re holding for this video) has been arrived today morning (finally after two weeks of waiting for the Canadian shipment!). Even though I suspect it gets massively damaged or got crumpled up due to Arrow’s insecure packaging, I carefully open the package, cut the tape out, and turns out that both bottom right corners on the front and the back of the box set have a slight dent (the back one is worse but not that close thankfully). Luckily the inside contents of this set are in extremely mint condition.😁 Despite this being a minor issue, it really is a phenomenal box set and I would like to thank Arrow and the Lee Family including Linda and Shannon for bringing out this definitive release. Honestly as a die hard Bruce Lee fan receiving this set, I’m not sure which one should I go first, maybe the Mandarin cut of The Big Boss or the Final Game of Death? Anyways it is one of Arrow’s top contenders next to Enter the Video Store: Empire of Screams and Blood Money Vol 2 set (yes I’m a huge Italian spaghetti western fan aside of being a Hong Kong genre movie/TV geek; I’m sure you have seen a spaghetti western before like the Sergio Leone ones).
Glad you finally got it and it's such a shame they don't package it safely. The Final Game Of Death was the highlight between the two for me. Hope you enjoy it!! The 'Enter The Video Store' box set was amazing also :)
Also, you mentioned that the Enter the Dragon disc looks different from your Blu set but the content of the disc with the special features is the same. I think that was a good get for the set under the circumstances because WB is releasing the standard 4k with both cuts but it drops all the 40th special features. With this set and picking up the standard WB 4k release, you're well rounded out having both cuts & the 40th special features if you hadn't already previously picked up the Criterion or 40th blu releases. IMO it kind of negates needing to buy WB's UK 4k Limited set unless you're a completionist or want more swag.

I got them online to replace the originals I my video player chewed up many moons ago. Someday I will get a comparison video done yes in showing the progression from VHS to 4K. And unfortunately I don't have the original snes console :)
Glad you got yours okay. My yellow box got wrecked from their poor packing. Seam split, torn, dog eared to the point the book/posters/cards/digipacks got dog eared as well. Arrow did an amazing job producing the set but not so much properly packing them for shipping and their customer service has been severely lacking in response. No recourse for a replacement which is shameful. Love your reviews and looking forward to your individual disc review videos but need to pop off in your comments because Arrow deserves to be criticized for letting so many fans down.
I had the same, can’t believe when they specialise in high end media they would package like this. They won’t replace and even tried to tell me they don’t pay for return postage! Such a shame.

Got the same box set as you won’t play on my ps4 ,going out now to buy a 4K DVD player.I have all of lees films on super 8mm.the German films have all been dubbed into English.Also have audition for the green hornet on super 8mm and the making of enter the dragon.❤

Got enter the dragon 4k limited edition steelbook on pre order with slip poster book art cards sold out 😊 and duel 4k limited edition steelbook. Piked up the curse 2 and the torture chamber of dr satism new on 88 films 😊
Good video review. Just my thoughts here... I disagree with those claiming that this is the best Bruce Lee boxed set around. The only reason they deserve credit for is that they've finally transferred his movies to 4K; and the fact that they've also included the full GOD out-takes footage even though the newly dubbed dialog sounds cheesy. Two major nitpicks... !: The art work is fantastic and beautifully illustrated, however, it's real stupid that they edited the Way of the Dragon inner sleeve art work and emitted the nunchaku, they've more or less invalidated the sets authenticity even though the customer is paying for a so called Collectors Edition boxed set. 2: I don't care what people say about the movie but Game of Death II doesn't deserve to be in that box set as it is NOT a Bruce Lee movie regardless of them using snippets of footage from Bruce's other films. There are better Bruce Lee look-a-like movies out there that deserve this slot with actors like Dragon Lee or Bruce Li being two of the best in Bruce-ploitation movies at that time.
Agree the yellow box is much better looking. Gutted mine turned up terribly packaged and badly damaged as a result. Arrow can’t/won’t replace and customer service are awful. Looks like I’m getting the red box 😢
There’s been quite a few unhappy customers who received damaged sets. I’m just going to be patient and wait it out. I’m in the US and ordered via Diabolik, they say half their inventory arrived damaged and my preorder became a back order. Hopefully they receive more stock soon.
@@jonathanaldecoa1099 Yeh I have seen lots of complaints and the pictures from Diabolik, shocking. Sadly nowhere in the UK to get the yellow box apart from direct with Arrow. Took 3 days of me arguing with them to even get the return and refund sorted, trying to get me to cover the cost of return postage!! Never again.
I love the set and the artwork but due to the design of the box (split half way down) almost everyone I have handed it to have gripped it by the top half and would've let the whole contents fall out if I had not anticipated it and held my hand underneath - I'm telling you it's highly likely to get dropped and damaged by someone who doesn't know how to hold it...
You postponed it I see, shoulv've been today..guess you found out you had one disc left😂if you've really gone through it all so quick then thats impressive, with so much stuff packed. My arrives today (red boxset bluray version).

Absolutely right!! Although my excitement is mainly for the set itself and the extras that come with, I've found a new love for him and his movies since the Criterion set and my visit to the Bruce Lee Exhibition in San Fran :)
