A real class act. My parents loved Alabama so much & my mom finally got a chance to get some tickets to take my Dad to see them while she was fighting cancer. She enjoyed seeing them but mom was the type that was more proud to be able to take my Dad to see his heroes. I'll never forget hearing them tell me about the concert, She passed away the following year at only 51 but so many Alabama songs remind me of my mom & hearing her talk about that concert. Alabama is the greatest country band of all time & one of the greats regardless of genre!

Randy spoke the truth about his mother lol we met her on a June Jam trip and was so touched by her faith. I miss the 1980's but I am thankful for the memories. Thank you Kelly and the other wives for sharing your husbands talents with us. #1ALABAMAFANFOREVER #THANKSFORTHEMEMORIES

He is so humble and down to earth. You can feel it in the music. I have never heard nothing bad about any of the Alabama group. No drugs or scandals. Just good Country People. I asked my Father one time was he poor growing up and he said well we didn’t have much but we were happy and had plenty of good food.

Ask their longtime drummer what he thought about the other three. Mark Herndon believe his name was.

Thanks for sharing this. My wife and I rode by Fort Payne last weekend en route to Birmingham. I was playing and thinking of ALABAMA while in my car. Saw them in the early 80s in Ozark, AL - first concert ever. Much respect to Randy and all the "boys in the band." Great music, fabulous lyrics, wonderful voices. And the energy!

Cool down home interview. I just rode the lil river canyon and happened to find Randy’s home last week and photobombed his driveway on my Harley Road Glide!

I met him once, back in The Summer of 1977, he told me you need braces that's all. The one next to him told me you do not, don't listen to him. I'm very happy that Randy was able to move on and find true happiness after what happened. Love you Randy. Glenices niece Debbie

It’d be real nice to be able to hear what Randy sez. He’s a REAL highway hero and I actually talked to him and his sibs on the Cb radio back in about ‘81 while I followed his bus down I-40 thru Tennessee.
I still enjoy hearing anything about him on TH-cam. Just hearing that distinct voice is a calming and uplifting influence. Yep like his grandma said, he coulda been a preacher, and any true country boy who grew up in his generation was influenced by him musically whether they know it or not. Alabama STILL rolls on!!!!!!
