Agree, you can be good at some things and bad at others. Example organized (maybe ocd) or not, and other great things but just because you have an addiction to something food, pills, sex, etc doesn't mean the other things can be also true. Your statement is all or nothing thinking. And humans are never all perfect or not and some traits are subjective. But perhaps the best marker of judgement would be God's idea of what we ought to value.

I viewed this video because I was shocked by your change of mind. I figured that was a good time to stop and listen to you. You gave some solidly good reasons for your change of mind, you talked about the benefits, and you also talked about your concerns for possible drug side effects. You also helped me recognize and be thankful for the people who helped me develop dopamine channels outside of food. Choir, band, sports, scouting. It even made me thankful for the numerous times when, as an adult, I could only afford one meal a day and I learned to prioritize protein and green veg.
Most of all, I appreciate your reminder that science involves changing your mind. A friend once told me "Never trust anyone who says they believe in science but then shuts down questioning science with the phrase, "It's settled science." There is no such thing as settled science."

I am 60. I have spent a lifetime battling weight. Always worked. Tried every diet. Trizepatide has been a miracle for me. I have never been happier. I have zero side effects.
I was severely abused and neglected by my mother my whole childhood. She wouldn’t even let me smile. She was sadistic. The only pleasure I ever felt was when I ate. I personally know two people who were on a GLP-1 and lost over 30% of their body weight. It's been over a year since they both reached their goal and are off it. They didn't gain the weight back and they're much healthier. They can move better, they're in less pain, better labs, better blood sugar level, and blood pressure. You have to change your lifestyle for it to work and last. You can't keep doing the same thing and expect a drug to do all the work.

I am a Personal Trainer and I've changed people's lives by getting clients off Insulin, Metformin etc., with proper diet and exercise. Now, new clients are signing up on Ozempic and Mounjaro. All are sick, one has been to the hospital a few times. Common issues: "Stomach is as hard as a rock!" "I'm nauseous", "I keep vomiting", "I feel like Sh*t", "It's not working and I still feel like sh*t), enemas, constipation/gut mobility issues, the inability to exercise, because of feeling ill, which means they are losing Fat AND Muscle (this does not make you healthier) etc. et etc. I hate what this drug is doing to people physically and the mental distress/depression that happens when they experience how fast the weight comes back on after stopping it, that's if they are lucky and their gut motility returns to normal (most of the time it does). If not, then you have bigger problems.

Great video - I learned so much ! 🥰 I am keto, been at my ideal weight for three years, and feel better than ever, so personally would not consider Ozempic. My husband was put on Ozempic for type two diabetes a year and a half ago and he’s lost 60 pounds, no longer diabetic , feels great, much more physically active and wants to stay on the Ozempic. It has taught him portion control and helped him incorporate some fasting. He certainly eats better than he used to, though still carbs and processed food. I worry about the side effect muscle loss and also question if he can ever get off it w/out gaining the weight. That said, when I look at the risk versus benefit compared to where his health was a year and a half ago, it’s much better. I certainly see the downsides and the overuse of Ozempic, and how it keeps people from taking responsibility for their habits and getting real healing on the levels needed. Yet healing is a life long journey, and if this helps someone get even one step forward from where they were before, maybe it could be useful in certain circumstances? There is still so much we don’t know about this drug and the people taking it now are the guinea pigs. This should at least be disclosed when it’s being prescribed. Thanks for continuing to dive into the research and being open minded to keep learning!🥰

My point in telling you all this, is I understand your pain and grief. It puts a horrific level of stress on us (as you know)….
I had just had my 4th son when the house fire happened… I ate healthy while nursing my baby… but after he weaned himself, I stopped my healthy diet… I sank into a severe depression and ate my sadness away… I gained 60lbs and had a really hard time losing it…. It took me over 20 years in fact….
My mother is 86 and she’s on these horrible diabetes meds…they affect her very negatively….but my mother is and always has been VERY addicted to sugary carbs…. She literally is just like an addict, even at 86….
What people do not realize is there literally is no going off these meds, once you’re on them… and if you should happen to go off, your diabetes will come back and you will gain the weight back… I’ve heard multiple dr’s say this. When used for weight loss, once you go off of these meds, the weight will come back.
A pill or shot is not the answer… it’s calorie density… it’s losing weight, getting out and moving our bodies more… getting support helps… either on the internet or at a gym for example….
I hope you’re doing much better now. I’d give you a hug and make you a lovely meal if I were able to ❤️💕🙏🏼 (cooking is my love language) sending Love from Oregon ~Trina~

I ended up with DB2 from too many carbs and not enough exercise but I had zero motivation to make the changes needed (Low Carb/Keto) until I had the Zoloft out of my system. I was originally prescribed them for what my Doctor believed was depression but looking back it was actually menopause!

My binge drinking is absolutely tied to my binge eating, which is my way of looking for comfort. I believe it is a sugar addiction, because I would only drink beer or wine, not vodka or scotch which wouldn't give me that sugar high in the same way. I'm trying keto (again) I've been off the wagon for years.

Thank you so much for explaining ways that human development can impact neurobiology and metabolic processes. This makes so much sense to me. As a child I experienced problems with making friends, so I learned to get pleasure from music, imagination, and pets. Sadly, traumas in my teenage years led to seeking pleasure from marijuana and alcohol. Divorce in adulthood contributed to food and carb addiction. Now I can proactively work on strengthening healthier pleasure networks.

My husband is on monjurno 15 mg, and is a type 2 diabetic. He’s been on it for 5 months and he’s lost weight, 50 lbs (he has no muscles around his neck and shoulders anymore) but the biggest issue is he’s no longer happy, doesn’t even smile anymore. He’s never taken antidepressants or been a drug/alcohol user. Is the mojurno causing depression? We’ve been married 30 yrs & he’s always been known as a cheerful, happy guy, prior to this drug. He’s never exercised, and when he does eat, it’s all carbs. What is this drug doing to cause such a change in his mood/loss of happiness/inability to be joyful now?

Thank you so very much for this video. Back in December I had a weight of 225 pounds (BMI of 36.3), a sky high lipid panel, high sugars and already had had an ablation. My MDs told me I had to lose weight. I qualified for Wegovy, but no one had it in stock. So.... I white knuckled it before finding your channel. Now after losing 35+ pounds, the supply of Wegovy came in. I have lost weight by a great deal of gym time and suffering. To be honest, it sucks to be hungry all the time and I am scared to death of not losing enough weight in case I need a cardiac procedure. My wife doesn't want me on Wegovy. My small Korean MD doesn't want me on Wegovy. I have been fat all my life. It is miserable being hungry living in a sea of food. I have put my brand new Wegovy supply in the refrigerator as my back up plan B. A once a month shot really sounds enticing. I still get pretty hungry even with exogenous ketones, MCT oil and sardines. If it were easy, everyone would do it.
From you I learned to become keto adapted and why I had failed at losing weight my entire life. Thank you for all that you do.

Watched twice+, this video is really communicating to me. There are so many redundancies on the happy chemicals that the body can make: Mother nature meant for us to not have Excessive anxiety, depression, etc. And the trauma connection explains a lot because the person could have had damaged mitochondria from childhood and they could have inherited damaged mitochondria from their parent. It's interesting that Ozempic people are getting happy about the drug, although it can be bad for their digestion. Definitely worth noting it. But I'm glad I chose keto 6 years ago. I wouldn't be so patient with this drug.

    Hi Dr. Boz,
I am a nurse. My bariatric nutrition physician began giving out education sheets on compound semaglutide and tirzapitide. I have been keto for over 4 years now. I am using the micro dose of 0.24 mg for insulin resistance with essentially no side effects. In many of the support groups, the dosages folk talk about are scary. If you compare the symptoms of the high dose semaglutide and tirzapitide users with chemo treated patients the symptoms sound familiar: severe nausea, anorexia, poor fluid intake, severe constipation, bowel obstructions, hair loss and emmaciated appearances. I do not care for any increased dosage. The appetite suppression is good. I am still keto, OMAD and eat 1500-2000 calories/day. I have been losing about 1 pounds per week. I am nearing my 5th week and I am finally within 7 pounds of my goal weight. I am glad I tried it. I would rather see my physician often for injection of this drug to keep tract of accountability of my physician to patient relationship.

I ended up in icu with severe dehydration. I had so many bags of fluid I lost count. I was asked by the er doctor if I was on dialysis. they let me go home when my kidney function returned. I told my endocrine dr I was not going to ever take that again; she seemed not to listen to me. But if she insists at my next appointment, I will find a different doctor. This was the worst absolutely worst side effects I have ever had on a medication. I don't think anyone should be on it. it's dangerous. People shouldn't take this, for the first 2 days I would be so nauseous I couldn't get out of bed. I couldn't function to do daily things.

I relapsed into severe anorexia after 11 years in recovery when I started on ozempic. I am in a tailspin. This is really bad for people with restrictive eating disorders, it was so easy to get ahold of, I've lost almost 40 lbs, and i don't plan on stopping. I want to get down to 100 lb(I'm 5'10, I've gotten there before unfortunately, the ED voice is so strong and all of the cssual attitudes towards this medication and the ED- type behaviors I've seen people use while on it, especially on social media, it was just too much for me to stay in recovery..) and now I have a tool to get there. I'm on dialysis for kidney failure and have gastroparesis and I don't care what it's doing to me because it cuts my appetite and it's amazing for restricting and getting rid of my hunger cues completely. I wish I was a disciplines enough anorexic to do it without meds but I'm not so I'm going to use this medication until I'm so skinny they'll have to put me in the ground and pry this ozempic or my cold dead hands 😂✌️

Yeah, that was a red flag to me, too.

NO! That professional eater/pop-machine is not disciplined!

Glad to see that you have changed your mind for this weight loss method. I have researched it to the nth degree and have finally decided to go on a semaglutide. Have been chunky all my life and lost weight on keto but I need to quiet the food noise that comes at me at night and I cannot conquer it. Hoping to get on track with the drug and get set in a habit of not snacking and not eating at night. Thank you for all that you do. Have followed you for years. Have had blood tests to determine that I do not have any factors that might lead to any complications. And if I have any serious side effects will be aware enough to quit taking the drug.

I wonder if my trauma affects my video game and internet addiction in the same way. Food was never a problem for me, but I didn't abuse it when I was younger. I also haven't really felt joy in over 10 years.

I have the same issues...too much internet and I eat while I watch it. I have also lost joy in the hobbies I used to have.
