For two years + I was injecting 2.0 ml Ozempic per week. No weight loss, was still hungry, and had bowel movements once a week with constant abdominal pain. Im on Ketovore now and have lost 70 lbs in 8 months. My A1C, Triglycerides, and HDL have dramatically improved. I feel better than I did 40 years ago.

No offense. I don’t believe you. Solely because there is a bot campaign going on spreading mistruths and false reviews of GLP1’s paid for by pharmaceutical companies who don’t have their own glp1… yet.

You just told my story. Used Ozempic 1mg per week. Would tell my doctor every appointment that I lost little weight, was hungry 24/7, had stomach cramps before bowel movements and trowing up during hard physical activity a day after injection. The drug dealer doctor had no comment or reaction. I was constantly lethargic, couldn’t get off the cough to save my life. Have been on low carb diet for 6 months. Lost my constant hunger, have energy to spare and can’t stay seated for more than five minutes without getting up doing something. Lost 17 kg (37.5 lb). Eventually had to wean off 1mg of Ozempic and 2000 mg of metformin to avoid hypoglycaemia. Now drug free, fasting blood sugar 4.2 mmol/L (75.6 mg/dL), hbA1C 4.9%. Never felt better. I have had unrelated health problems, kidney stones, uric infection and constipation. Started taking psyllium to solve my constipation problem which worked. Kidney stones have been reduced in size but not clear yet. Working with a new doctor to clear my this problem.

Excellent job Rebecca and Dr. Boz! Bravo! After two heart attacks in the last 10 years and 20+ years of high insulin, I can say that Dr Boz and others have really educated me. My entire adult life I have exercised no less than 2 hours a day on two intense bike rides every single day. I actually enjoy the exercise and feel odd if I don't get a daily dose of exercise. This is okay, but not sufficient. Under the advice of Dr. Boz I have only, within the last few months, obtained glucose reads in the 60s. Before now, I never had a reading lower than 130. My A1C has normally averaged 200. Although exercise is beneficial, I now understand, and quite frankly knew but refuse to admit, that diet is vastly more important. If I behave myself, I can keep my finger prick readings under 120. Still not the best but much better than the 220s until recently routinely measured.
I actually like canned sardines but include quite a number of boiled eggs and modest amount of cheese in my diet. My dessert is an apple I eat in the middle of the day. I usually eat my first meal about 11am and last about 5pm; so intermittent fasting? I do not have any support, so stories like yours are an inspiration to me. Thank you. Robert

The tie in directly to why Ozempic is not working - finally made this sink-in to my comprehension! *Yes - Dr Boz has explained this in many forms before! Dr Boz has more patience than I can imagine! - And I am so grateful. Big thanks to Rebecca for sharing this very specific story!!! You are on your way now!!!!

I got so sick I thought I was dying. I didn't do well on Metforman, they decided to try adding Ozempic and my insurance required I also be on Metforman. Next thing I knew I started passing out at work, not dizzy and faint, but rather lights off like a light switch awake on impact wondering what happened. Then I was told I had to have my Gall Bladder removed because I spent a month puking and passing out, not a cardiac issue. I went off both, but now have a very hard time eating always feel sick. I did get a Gastrectomy after recovering and have lost weight and now have an AIC of 5.6

Keto, paloe, carnivore, exercise and weight lifting. No weight loss until i went on trizepatides. Im very happy i finally found something that works. My question is...as far as i know, peptides are strings of amino acids. Carnivore is consuming more amino acids? Is that part of the healing with carnivore? Is that why there are fever cravings on carnivore?

I am so glad that you don't prescribed ozempic to your patience. First little while I was doing fine but then I got really sick to the point where I wanted to call the ambulance. Being the way I am stubborn I didn't call the doctor the next day and he told me to get off of it right away! I was diagnosed with crohn's disease about 3 weeks after there was no Crohn's disease it all had to do with the ozempic. For most people it might work but for me never again

The schedule Dr Boz is speaking about works for me as well. I’m not using ketones only Glucose measurements but I usually break my fast with coffee w HWC & stevia, at 8am I have protein meal, usually eggs then walk an hour. I eat low car/protein meal again around 11am then fast the rest of my day. I usually row for 15-30 minutes after my meal. Occasionally I will have a snack (sardines or hb egg) if I’m hungry but it’s rare. My fasting window is 19-21 hours, it’s easier if you eat low carb. I’ve lost 17 lbs since June when I started being a bit more strict. I always gain weight if I don’t watch the carbs (less than 30gr). I can lose weight if I follow intermittent fasting. My A1C has been prediabetic for 10 years but got into the 6.5 range, that’s what made me decide to watch it closer. It’s the diet & time I let my metabolism rest that dies it for me. My BG readings are averaging 104mg/dL, higher in the AM but drop 2 hours after my meals into under 100mg/dL. I’m still waiting to do my next A1C test in Dec. I hope I’m back to normal & have lost enough to be normal BMI. Best thing is my BP med has had to be cut down to 1/2 tab, hopefully soon to be cut completely…my BP always goes very low & I get dizzy when I lose weight. Dr orders to slow cut meds. Dr Boz & others give sound advice, it takes patience but slowly your health can be gained back.

I tried ozempic - for 4 weeks had the worst migraine I've ever had in my life. I lost weight that week because I was stuck in bed for three full days with vertigo and nausea. I didn't eat and barely drank. I tried it again, but the first day the migraine, vertigo and nausea started immediately. I'm much better off doing fasting.

According to science, adding intense and regulated aerobic exercise would significantly help with excess insulin production. In fact, there are very few downsides to adding consistent, progressive and regulated strengthening and aerobic activity when dealing with many insulin issues. That process is called training - not merely exercise. Also, sauna use is best not to be confused with training or exercise. Sauna usage is primarily a technique used to help the body adapt to heat stress, which is beneficial for those training in hot conditions.
The day a person understands the difference between exercise and diet vs. training and fueling is the day a person's life will change On that day, the use of GLP drugs becomes more palatable as a treatment used to jump-start training and fueling as a lifestyle. If anything, this video reflects the biggest gap in medical education: the lack of sufficient training and experience in the fields of Exercise Science and Sports Medicine. None the less, it is very informative.

We just don't know what the impact of these side effects from Ozempic will be when a zillion people use it, as you indicate. I do think it could be a viable option for those patients that are too large for bariatric surgery and are bed bound like the 500+ pounders. In that case, benefits from GLP-1 agonists may outweigh the risks. Once they cease to be morbidly obese, I would then transition to a low-carb or carnivore phase.
I recently did hear of a 649 pounder, who at 6' 7" tall lost to down to 395 pounds strictly with low-carb / calorie restriction. Non med techniques can work!!

Although you explain several things about ketones I still am puzzled, after 5 months of daily MCT dosing I get SUCH a boost from it that I feel guilty! Like it is a drug. The external ketos do the same thing. My testing of ketos are high, but the blood sugar are above 98. The more fasted I am, the more likely they seem to jump up over 100. I get great ratios. Food intake is mostly 3oz meat and green salad, and fat. Weight loss has averaged about 1/2 lb a week. Why do I respond so strongly to MCT? I feel great! I just want faster results.

What about picking up some prawns and eating those? And if a diabetic, then Ozempic is a good thing. It is actually made for that - not as a weight loss drug. Ozempic also isn't $1000. It is about AUD$30-120 a month max.

  • @Alexandra-h1i
    @Alexandra-h1i 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

If you do your part and get your protein in and heavy lifting and resistant training, the loss of muscle mass is not an issue. In fact, you can gain muscle on GLP1 Very EASILY if you are utilizing the medication properly.and it’s definitely not 1,000 it’s on average a couple hundred Bucks and if u are micro dosing it’s $50 or less a month.. and when the food addiction is controlled you are definitely lft with “emotional emptiness “ which sounds terrible but you are forced to deal with WHY you were leaning on food as a coping mechanism so with a proper protocol diet exercise lifting and therapy to understand why you got to this plane in the first place.. glp1 is great as a tool to get down to the nitty gritty of emotional eating

Always informative and insightful. However, even a gentle criticism of Ozempic may not be appropriate for an MD. Has there been enough study on what Ozempic does to the pituitary, pineal, and hypothalmus? There are indications that it can cause Multiple endocrine neoplasia. Shouldn't these impacts be evaluated more closely given the possible disruptions? I would rather see patients follow your drug free protocols all together. (Exceptions involving supplements, of course).

So conversely, if you're trying to gain weight, you should eat pretty much all day, especially at night?

Good information, much appreciated. As it goes with every medication, some benefit , some don’t. Semaglutide worked very well low dose for me with small side effects.

Olive oil. You can add olive oil if you have the sardines with water.

@@Violets14I dont trust that the olive oil in the cans is 100% olive. It can claim 100% but be cut with canola. That goes for the olive oils you see in store

My guess is… it would be next to impossible for a female to eat enough food/calories to keep her metabolic rate fairly level. Too few calories can cause a slowing of weight loss too. Eventually, she may be able to get to one meal a day.
