- Last year for April Fools’ Day, I covered my favorite joke characters in fighting games. For this April Fools-themed video, it's time to discuss the other type of comedic characters in fighting games: the comic relief (that still puts up a good fight). Basically, a joke character realistically has no chance against the rest of the cast (unless the developers attempt balancing the power of the whole cast), while a normal comic relief character is made with the intention of keeping up with the rest of the cast with a comedic twist, whether it is in their moveset or personality.

The best part of Peacock is how humorous she is in spite of the tragedy surrounding her. One great example is those little black dot cartoon eyes she has, because they aren't cartoon eyes, those are her eyeless eye sockets, she can only see through those peacock eye attachments.
when i saw deadpool in the announcement trailer for MVC3 i was all SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!, but when i saw viewtiful joe in it, i did my happy dance

If I get to that idea, Dante in UMvC3 would have be on it since he basically declares it when he says "Keepin' it stylish!" during one of his hyper combos.

I think that Taokaka from Blazblue could fit here . She is funny both in fight dialogue , intros and outros and is a decent character with good agility so it´s hard to hit her

Eh, I'd save the honor of being on multiple lists for fighting game greats like Scorpion or Ryu. She's already in the top 10 cats in fighting games. And I know other characters are in multiple videos, but still

Hmmm... I would have put either Platinum or Taokaka instead of Bang.
Tao somehow has giant-sized swiss-army knives for claws, has this huge smile on her face and basically doesn't fight seriously, espeically with lines such as "This is for the tuna!"... or against Litchi when she says "BOOBIES!" XD
Platinum has a magic wand that turns into toy-like weapons. None of her moveset is serious. Her Light attack is a poke that has the rock, paper or scissor hand sign. She can dash with wheels as legs. she jumps on people with a pogo stick, hits people with cat-shaped clubs, bombs, bells, bubbles and missiles, in addition of a frying pan. She taunts everyone she fights.
I always thought MKX Johnny Cage felt like younger Johnny grew up into Frank West from Dead Rising

Honorable mention to Busuzima from Bloody Roar. Debuting in Bloody Roar 2 Busuzima was the secret main antagonist of the game being a former scientist at Tylon who experimented on Zoanthropes and even was responsible for Uriko only being able to half way transform, brainwash Kenji into the 2nd Bakuryu, making Shenlong from Long's DNA and turning Dr. Goldberg into Stun The Insect. But despite all of that he fights like an utter goofball with his Deception fighting style. Wildly flailing his arms and legs while shouting "Punch!" and "Kick!". In his ending in Bloody Roar 2 before he gets absolutely curbstomped by the people he beat up he breaks the 4th wall Deadpool style and say the only reason the came back is because they selected Continue. And his designs alway made him look less like a scientist and more like someone who lives in California with a love of chameleons and weed.

personally i like to see dan as comic relief rather then a joke and i think dan and bo rai cho are the best comic relief characters there are. also my april fools videos are always actual videos ^^

This is the first video I've watched with a DoA character, and that character is definitely a perfect inclusion and was my first thought for this list!
Speaking of DoA and Bo Rai Cho, when can we expect a list of the top Drunken Fighters? You've hinted at it before, and /good/ drunken fighters are some of my favorites in fighting games, hence my infatuation with Brad Wong in DoA5.
I do plan on doing a list about drunk fighters some day. I hinted at it on my clumsy fighting game characters list and I have a feeling I'll get to it eventually. Brad Wong would definitely be on it! DoA needs more representation in my videos.

Oh, right, Deadpool. I tend to part ways with the vast majority of Deadpool fans because, for the most part, I think he was funnier (and more fun) in the mid-to-late 90's. *Short version* is the MvC version of Deadpool feels more like this version.

+James Hines, Jr. But Hakushon Daimao (Japen only character in Tatsunoko vs Capcom Cross Generation of Heroes) and Roll (Tatsunoko vs Capcom version) are comic relief characters.

Hello Everyone I'm Prime Zero L from looking at this video I would say since this guy is still making more Top Ten List he should make a Top 10 List on Spy Agents in Fighting Games and the good reason why sure some doesn't fight fair in some fighting games the Spy Agents have unique move sets and different Martial Arts or the same Martial Arts and some that has Hybrid Martial Arts and their even some that has Pro move sets of Boxing or Wrestling and the Spy Agents have gadgets they use in some match up if they wanted to use them or not and I give good points and two thumbs way up for all that on this video and some of you Fans & Players & People would have to at least agree with me on that one if you like the sound of that idea on Top 10 Spy Agents in Fighting Games.!?¡¿ ♤♡♧◇👏👌✌✌👍👍🕹🎮💕💖💗💙⛑🕵️♂️🕵️♀️🥋🏋️♀️🤼♀️🤼♂️

As much as I love Paul, I find Laws, Ganryu, Lee, Kuma, and Lei to be funnier.
I almost put Kuma on the list. Tekken has a lot of funny fighters to mix in with the serious ones, so it was difficult decision in the end.

I hope Deadpool comes back in Marvel vs Capcom Infinite because he's my favourite Marvel character but I know Marvel and Fox have a rights issue because Fox owns the copyrights to X-Men franchise which Deadpool is a part of. Same with Doom and the rest of the FF characters. :/
What relevance does Deadpool being ""teenrated" have to do with Gameplay?
It doesn't have to do with gameplay, but it was more related to what Deadpool can say to other characters since he can go all out with his jokes like in his comics or his own game and movie. It doesn't really matter in the end since he plays like Deadpool should, has his normal style humor with less swearing, and breaks the fourth wall, but I thought it was worth noting.

Teen-rated refers to the U.S. video game rating system. Teen (or just "T") is the rating for games that are "suitable" for 13+ year olds. Other Deadpool stuff generally has more mature content that would get it an M-rating (or 17+), so they would have to tone down some of Deadpool's swearing and dirty jokes and stuff like to get the game a lower rating so it could be advertised to a broader demographic.

I love Johnny Cage
Johnny is only here cause of his history of making jokes through years in MK universe. Because starting from MKX Cassie gets even funnier and surely stronger than her dad as a character and a fighter. More like she pushes her parents Sonya and Johnny towards their retirement. I'd still replace Johnny with Cassie in this list: she's the MK champion now, his prime is long gone.
For me, when it comes to these types of characters for Street Fighter, I would have gone for Dhalsim simply for his ridiculously stretchy body and fire burping. For Mortal Kombat, I can't go past Bo Rai Cho.

Peacock was created a few years before Cuphead was announced. They're both inspired by the same era of cartoons, which is why they're so similar in design.
