I really want to try techy shorts but I'm hesitant for 2 reasons. 1. I have mainline j.crew's tech dock shorts and I hate them, they don't feel as breathable or nice as the regular dock shorts and make this EXTREMELY loud swish swish noise. 2. When I'm at thrift stores and I walk down the shorts or pants aisles and feel for stuff, I can't help but feel the synthetic stuff is all thin, inferior-ly built stuff. My main gripe with most shorts is discomfort at the waist and I feel techier shorts would help allay this. I'm at my heaviest, I bloat up a lot after eating, and am super sensitive to the digging of waistbands when I sit or lay down or after a meal. Please help :)

Yeah, I think if you don't like the synthetic tech fabrics, I would get something like the F&T cotton linen shorts or the Easy Shorts by Taylor Stitch. The Easy Shorts (especially) are light and breathable, but still feel natural.

How tall are you Dave? I’m wonder about the length on the proof nomad shorts.

I'm 6'1". But they have the length of the inseam listed. There's a 7.5" and 9" I believe.
