I WANT to sing with MARK CHESTNUT! BILL INGROFF CALIF. U.S.A. GOOD GREETINGS MARK CHESTNUT. KEEP SMILING;SINGING AND PLAYING GUITAR COUNTRY STAR MARK CHESTNUT. YOU ARE A SPECIAL TALENT!
I really thought Mark Chestnut would stay out there in the COUNTRY radio but it all faded away but that cat can sure sing a Great TRADITIONAL country song!! Never heard this song......Like it!!
Rip George Possum Jones, owner of the sweetest country voice in the world...and Rip Glen Gordon, one of the best lead country guitarists these world ever had! I bet you guys are in the same country heaven!
Amazing to be able to do a George song in front of him. Mark tore it up and I'm sure he would agree that as long as George was walking the earth the most anyone could ever hope for was to be second best on one of those songs. George Jones the voice that was as smooth as the wisper of the angels and as pitch perfect as a golden harp that plays inside of heavens gate. I saw George on several occasions throughout the early 80s on up until he was gone and I have seen him in all forms of stoned from clear eyed sober to so drunk and under the influence that he would talk to the audience and not a spoken word did anyone understand. But as soon as the band would kick off the next song his singing voice and pitch was always as magical and perfect as the CD version of the song. He never failed to make the hair on my neck stand up once he picked up the mic. There was only one and there will never be another one. God bless you and rest in piece Mr Jones
good lord Mark Chesnutt was a beast in his prime..that boy could sweet talk conway twitty out of the grave...absolutely beautiful and rare breed for sure.
Absolutely fantastic, just wow. That is saying a lot because I have been a George fan since the 50's but Mark is amazing. Where is he now, we really need him today? No real country out there today, sooooooooo sad!!
I grew up listening to Mr. Jones. He was my dads favorite along with Johnny Cash. I'm partial to Mr. Jones in my adult years as well as yours Mr. Chestnut. My heart is sorrowful today that his presence here has changed, yet I have this warm, loving feeling remembering him play and sing his music. He blessed me with his music that is inside my mind and heart evermore though it is his time to rest now...RIP Mr. Jones and ty for your post Mr. Chestnut, blessed be you...
Thank you so much for sharing this! "I'm Not Getting Any Better At Goodbyes" is one of my all time favorites, and I never knew he performed it on television. Love the picture of him and George in the thumbnail, too! I recognize it from one of my issues of Country Music Magazine.
To have a compliment like that from George Jones couldn't have been better. You're probably better than ever. What a Melodic voice God Blessed you with.
The song is on the long necks and short stories album. very early stuff. They still play his music here in texas but when visiting chicago area I noticed that the radio plays him there a lot but always the same few songs. I have all of his albums and can say there is not a stinker in the lot.
Thanks so much for sharing Mark. As a radio DJ in New Brunswick, Canada i have also grew up listening to Jones music. Drink several cases of beer with him without him knowing, hehe! He opened up doors for lots of artists like yourself to be able to sing real country music (aka traditionnal country music)... Hope to see you again in this region in the near future... RIP George Jones.
Thanks for sharing and bringing back some good memories.. Having lost a lot of my memories from a accident, I think music can be very healing and helpful in many ways, to many people. Keep up the good work.
Me and some buddies were able to kick it and have a few shots with Mark, after a small acoustic show he gave about 15 years ago. The man is genuine and the salt of the earth.

I agree ,
@jacksinger-hi2uk cannot play rock on guitar....takes too much memorizing though I can still play country or 12 bar blues.
Me and some buddies were able to kick it and have a few shots with Mark, after a small acoustic show he gave about 15 years ago. The man is genuine and the salt of the earth.
