So happy to find this. I remember this episode, especially George singing "Kiss! Kiss!" to Faith Hill. So talented, so funny, so easy-going. Rest in Peace, Mr. Jones.
Vern is so humble, but really he is right there with George as the greatest country singer of all time. Nobody sings with feeling like Vern Gosdin and George Jones.
I loved seeing Vern on this show. He and George were good buddies, I love the duet they did "All That We've Got Left." County music fans have lost the two best. I had tickets to see George in Charlotte years ago, but he didn't show up. Jerry Reed came in his place. I wish that I could have seen him in person just one time. Thanks for posting his shows.
Please don't apologize for conditions or video quality that is well past your control. I hope I'm not the only one who is just grateful to view a program that I couldn't when it was first aired! !
Tim McGraw. If there is one singer that needs to get back in touch with his roots, it's him. Him and Chesney both need to come back home, and keep the faith that is traditional, true country music. And of course, then we have *The Voice*. If there was one country singer of all time who deserved more credit, recognition, and popularity, it was him. Right up there with Paycheck. My God, did Gosdin have talent. His name should be mentioned with the same gratitude and recognition as Jones, Hag, and Willie and Waylon. Gosdin songs are some of the best country songs you could ever listen to. Man I loved this show. I could watch old country singers bullshit with each other every day for the rest of my life.
Wow,Thank you so very much to see what real country music was like back in those days, the stories and now you see what the 2000's are like!! A real breath of fresh air!! Thank you again for your post's!! Merci!
Thank you again so very much for posting this. I remember the 1st time I heard Vern on the radio singing "Chiseled In Stone" I had to pull off the road I was so moved.
This is great. I remember watching the show. I have records both LP and 45's of him and the old country. There will never be another George Jones. My heart goes out to his family and Allan Jackson who dearly loved this man. He is the only person that can make you cry with a song. God Bless him and his family. He will sing with the angels and of course Tammy.
What a great episode, Just a bunch of legends having great conversation. I will say though, Vern was just incredible. I sure miss Vern and George. They were like Bookends that held real country western music together. The only guest they could’ve had that would’ve made it better would’ve been Keith Whitley, he was gone by then but that guy could sing a Vern song so well. Think Tennessee courage. Thanks for posting this.🎶
YES I AGREE WITH THE UPLOADER THIS NEEDS A DVD RELEASE, I DIDN'T KNOW GEORGE JONES EVEN HAD A TV SHOW, ALSO WISH THEY WOULD RELEASE THE ENTIRE STATLER BROTHER SERIES ON DVD...... THANKS FOR SHARING !!!
I absolutely Love this video! George jones is the greatest! real country! I don't even listen to the radio haven't in years! I'm just sad I never got to see in in concert!
This were never released commercially, I only have these episodes because I taped them on VHS back in the 90's and then transferred them recently to digital so I could upload them... I could make you copies but unfortunately the quality isn't that great since they are from old VHS tapes... email me and we can talk more
I’m so grateful that Nancy met him that night after we were at Louisiana Downs . What a night that was! She’s been in my heart for many years and I hurt with her when she lost George. I know what she went through for the years before and how hard she worked to keep him alive. It was worth everything, Nancy. Love, Donna
Tim sure was in love with Faith, she was so green, very inexperienced , Tim too. Wish they would not of been interrupting Vern every time he said something. Great episode!
I don't know why George Jones never says anything about living in Vidor, he lived there in a house with a guitar shaped swimming pool and had a diner called The Chuck Wagon. He lived in Vidor for quite a while. He also had some of his friends like Johnny Cash sing at The Chuck Wagon.
To me George Jones was we call icon I think that's right You can put Waylon Jenning Johnny Cash and Conway Tweety You are in Heaven with Waylon, Johnny and Conway and one of your song It Not Better Than This RIP George Jones
Midge L it seems to be a dying art and fading from us!!! there's just nobody living that life they sing about like those greats did and has that voice that only God truly blessed such a few with that stand alone with!! hope I am saying this right!! I mean like there will never be another George Jones or Tammy Wynette they had a unique voice God blessed that stood alone no one else ever will have that sound and then they lived a life that so many normal folks can relate to a drunken habit a break up but still loved each other just could not live together and it came thru so loud and clear in every song they lived what they sang and that's what we the fans knew and could so relate to and loved!!! Elvis oh no there will never be another Elvis he had it all the total package and the hurt inside as well and oh no nobody can ever go there again but I agree with you I was listening well gonna listen to the radio the other day and it was country rap some kind of rapping going on and oh that got turned off quick
Thank-You so much for posting these, we really enjoy them! Do you know where we could get copies? My Uncle Jimmy met George Jones and they had their picture taken together. He said he was a Great Guy! My Uncle Jimmy sang Walk through this world with me at our Wedding.

Aww...come on back Georgie, and bring Vern with you, and as many of the others as you can bring. Now I am not old, just well settled. but I still remember those old Country songs from the 1930's, like Jimmy Rodgers, W. Leo Daniels. Notwithstanding, we have lost some really outstanding young ones too, like Keith Whitley and Elvis.
So happy to find this. I remember this episode, especially George singing "Kiss! Kiss!" to Faith Hill. So talented, so funny, so easy-going. Rest in Peace, Mr. Jones.
