    Hope yours lasts longer than the 3 weeks mine did. What a piece & pile!! It didn't even last long enough for me to do a video tutorial, although I was able to make a blog walking people through using it. I set OBS to have scroll lock & pause turn the overlay on and off. Finally, a purpose to such useless keys!

      Yah me too! So far I am enjoying my 21st century meter. :D If it dies, I'll have to buy something better because I'm not going to go back to using that Rat Shack meter.

    Thank you for taking the time to figure out the process for getting things to work on screen! Definitely helps those of us who are looking to do something similar!

    In 2004 I bought an inexpensive Radio Shack 22-812 to try out and loved it so much it ended up replacing my Fluke 87-III as my everyday go-to meter. I still have my trusty ol' Fluke but for everyday stuff I still use the Radio Shack meter and I absolutely LOVE it. I originally bought it because I needed a basic meter with a PC interface for logging measurements over long periods and the RS 22-812 seemed like a good deal and I can't say enough good about it. I use that RS meter for pretty much everything and it's still a fantastic device!

    Can you use it without the RS232 cable ?

    nice gift you got and glad you got the onscreen display working. Hope you can find out how to use it wirelessly with bluetooth. Maybe the font and color of the Data Logger can also be changed ?

    Nice videos man, could you recommend a microscope that is a bit more budget friendly than the one you're using? Just as one to start out with.
    Thanks!

    Bro .... what about that new blue mat you got there ? where did you get it ? specs ? Thanks man

    • @ststele
      @ststele  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The mat in this video is a kitchen table place mat from Walmart.. LOL Although it is not discolored by heat, it's too thin and bubbles (temporarily) where hot air hits it. I only use this one for a backdrop in videos. I'm gonna order a proper mat I think. Makes video look a lot better.

    UPDATE: I finally decided to send the TekPower TP9605BT meter back to the reseller on Amazon. If you're asking what next? Yes, I did tell them to send out another one just so I can check and see if I got a defective one. Question: Has anyone watching this video ever purchased this METER and gotten it to work on the computer with RS232 or any BlueTooth device? Please let everyone here know in the comments, and if you have a TH-cam Channel please post a video showing us how you got it to work, THANKS: KR222.

    that battery will deplete very fast I suggest using an ebay buck converter to turn ur pcs 12v into 9v for the meter and solder the buck converters output wires to the battery terminals

    • @ststele
      @ststele  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +peterizrandom I can see why you would say that now. It does seem very picky about battery voltage.

      I got one: 3 buddies went to the bar Mr. Proton, Mr. Neutron and Mr. Electron. 2 hours passed and all 3 totally hammered, asked bar keep for the check. Bartender goes " for Mr. Neutron, no charge, Mr. Electron, there's a charge. Mr. Proton was surprised with the bill and asked "No charge for neutron?!! Are you positive?!" Bartender goes "No, I'm not, but you are"

    On checking reviews on Amazon this meter is ratings are extremely bad. I should have watched some of the reviews before my purchase of this meter, I would have never bought it. I’ve tried to call the help line, go to their website help line and their main website. LINK, FAILED TO LAUNCH HELP. There are a lot of other people that are going though the same problems that I am having. I would like to do everything possible to try and get it to work before sending it back. On the one that I have the blue tooth and the RS232 cable doesn’t work, and I’m pretty good with computers. One more negative review will not hurt them, but it looks like it has to be done. FYI DON’T BUY.
