    What an incredibly thorough review! 💖 I'm planning on picking up some shades of the smashbox and was looking for reviews and came across your video. Glad I did! There's a black one from the new collection I'm interested in. 💖

      @@jessicatang983 I purchased black, amber and sienna. They are very opaque, easy to blend and do not budge. Love using the black as eyeliner. 👍👍

    THANKS SO MUCH for this. i hate the feel of my eyelid stuck together when i blink with any cream shadow...i wipe it off immediately. i feel like danessas eye products are only meant for editorial...taking immediate pictures...not for going outside and being hit by natural elements like sweat...wind..sun, for hours.

    Thank you for this wear test. I also have downturned hooded eyes…and oily lids…and everything always creases. I have tried all kinds of primers for all shadows and some help but in the end creasing is inevitable and I just pat it down midday.
    Have you tried Rare Beauty? It does not crease but it does fade…not in a bad way.
    I like the Armani ones…do not crease bad. The Chanel ones also don’t crease much. But in many cases I use all these as bases. I tend not to use primer…sometimes I have used shape tape and that works.

      I haven't tried the ones you mentioned. I usually steer clear of cream or liquid shadows because i just know they won't perform on me. I usuay only use a clear or skin tone primer and that works well enough. Concealer on the other hand creases horribly 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ it's terrible

      @@Alicesbeautymadness it is the curse of oily lids…and oily face. But in the end, we will look younger, longer…so I am ok with that 😎😉

    omg I had the same results too. a lot of mua's have been raving about these and i bought so many different shades and tried to use with primer, without a primer, with eyeshadow on top, and all other combos. i made sure to set it too every time i used it. it always creased/faded on me no matter what. :(

    Hi Alice, thanks for the reviews! If I may say so, if you try a different eyeshadow placement, it may not crease as much. Skipping the mobile eyelid or at least only applying a bright light “vanilla” sort of shade; then placing the mid tone ABOVE the mobile crease(but not in the sunken contour). Thus, when you open the eyes, you can benefit from the receding effect.
    Also, it won’t crease, since it is away (mostly) from the natural folds under the “hood”. Placing all the dark color on the mobile lid it is a recipe for creasing! But a slightly lighter than your skin base, if you can, it will brighten the eye, specially from the inner corner to just before the center. Like the first third.
    You are beautiful without make up! Great skin! 💕

      Hi Celida, for the use that I want to make of this product, as a quick one-and-done eyeshadow, they clearly don't work and therefore have no use for me. I still need to put something on my lid, and powder eyeshadow on a primer works well.

    Just what I was looking for! And I have all the products and almost all the caracteristics. I have the always on in greige, milani primer, oily lids, very hooded, small eyes and sometimes not a lot o time. So, I am using them for over a week. I am pleasently surprised to see that the cream shadow it stays on my eyelids up to 10 hours, fading decently. I must mention that I set the cream with a little bit of powder eyeshadow, one from colourpop and one from W7. Before that, I used the Fenty match stick in amber, worked as well, even with australian gold sunscreen as a primer, but I was looking for a darker, cooler color. The only downside is the color range, warm colors dont look good on me, and I want a deeper grey. Thank you for the thorough review.

    Really helpful video, thank you. I’m late to the video but I have extremely oily eyelids and the best liquid eyeshadow I’ve found is Hindash, I only use the fenty primer for ordinary eyeshadows but does anyone have any other suggestions? I’ve tried loads!

    • @Alicesbeautymadness

      Hi! I use the Fenty primer too now, but I've had good experience with the Urban decay primer potion and the Mac eye primer. I don't have a lot of experience of more affordable options except the 1$ elf one but that was 8 years ago 🙈

    Hi there! for the danessa myricks, or any cream shadow for that matter. I usually clean my eyelid with micellar water before applying or with an oil free makeup remover. It tends to help a lot with creasing. I also kinda set with an eyeshadow or powder.

    • @Alicesbeautymadness
      @Alicesbeautymadness  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the tip! For me a cream shadow is supposed to be either a base or a quick and easy look and any additional step defeats this purpose, so then i might as well just use powder. Once in so long I try cream shadows hoping something changed and there is a golden formula that works for me.. unfortunately no bulletproof one yet

  • @jessicatang983

    So useful because I am interested in both! Do you still use the Smashbox shadows?

    • @Alicesbeautymadness
      @Alicesbeautymadness  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do! Especially when I just want a wash of color on my eyes and not a fully structured eye look.
      I don't use them very often though because I just love doing my eye makeup so days of little eye makeup are rare for me. I'd rather skip foundation than eyeshadow.
