Yeah Michael Anthony must still be trying to figure out what to do...being around a drummer that sounds good, for a change. AVH's drums always sounded like junk...
martianshoes Now that's not nice AVH is good too. I was thinking Chad smith must be looking a Michael Anthony like....SLAP THAT THING MANG!!! lol just kidding M.A. is kicking its ass.
This captures the excitement of a night out at the show..........totally smokin' metal.......you got your crew, a bag of weed and your just gettin' your buzz on.......smokin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love van halen.....and this band is great too, I can't wait to watch watch what they do next...Sach has always had the greatest respect for Eddie...and man he could give Eddie a run for the money. But its not about that at all.. Sach...respects. thats all I got to say.
JOE! What can I say? I'm astounded every time I see him play. Chad - Holy crap! I saw G3 with John Petrucci, Paul Gilbert and Joe. All were great and amazing. Paul made me laugh. Joe made me cry. I'd love to see the FOOT!
I love how Sammy makes every effort to highlight Mike's bass playing AND show everyone that Mike's backing vocals were what really made the VH sound. "Jamie's Crying" anyone?
@@waynebrown2546 Sammy Hagar is an exceptional rarity in popular music because he values his bandmates who make the music what it is. Michael Anthony shines in every band he's in, his vocals are second to none and his bass playing is among the best in hard rock and heavy metal, and EVH never knew that probably til he was gone. Sammy Hagar believed in him from day one, though. Amazing what you can do when you actually root for the people you're playing with.
I saw them on this tour and they were fucking on fire that night. I bought this dvd just for their live show and it did not disappoint. I am going to see them tomorrow night and I can't wait.
My parents who are about Sammy's age think he should "act his age" and he needs to "grow up". In other words they think he sucks.. I say rock until you drop Sammy!
One of my best concerts ever - also the only time I've been front row and just arms length away from my guitar hero Satch. I think its also the only time I've been filmed at a show was this show here in Phoenix - the stars aligned for me this night.
This is so sick, good Lord Chad throws all his chops on this one. Add MA vocals and solid bass and throw Joe’s very wide tasty tone on this and you got fire man. Holy crap they are tight here. Only band I got to meet all 4 members of as well. What a trip!
Funny thing is Sammy sounds better now than he ever did with Van Halen.......and it shows just how under appreciated mike was.....till now. The foot RULE!!!!!
I wish they would drop whatever the heck they are doing (like Red Hot and they solo careers) and focus entirely on this band. They could become one of the top bands in the world in terms of popularity and $$$ too (they already are in musical terms IMHO).
I love Chickenfoot! I'm particularly happy for the highly underrated Michael Anthony. I'm not saying that he's a Geddy Lee or Jack Bruce but he's a damn good bassists in his own right, and a great singer. I grew up on Van Halen but Eddie has turned into somewhat of an arrogant control freak. RAWK ON 'FOOT!
@65Magnifico ok cool,, glad Im not the only one who can hear it,, and trust me I am not bad mouthing chicken foot at all. They are great musicians, respect.
The groove in this song is just nasty. Much as I love Sammy Hagar and what he contributes to this band, I'd love to see Satriani, Anthony, and Smith make an instrumental rock album where they can just cut loose with some more nasty grooves, and solo sections.
I think I hear Hendrix at 2:00 ! But I completely agree with you, and the fact that they enjoy what they are doing so much make this live album even better, you can HEAR how much they enjoy themselves.
Everytime I hear this song i always think it just has SO many Influences in it! just look 2:00 sounds exactly like something Led Zeppelin Would do! then at 2:24 Its Black Sabbath! Then at 2:35 Its like Rush! Amazing Band! Supergroup of the Noughties!
@BioMess Spot on!! Can you imagine what Alex & Eddie would have done to this song?!! I like what Chickenfoot have done but the shadow of the mighty Van Halen is too great for Chickenfoot to sustain or better surpass Van Halen's legacy. The difference with Van Halen's music on every album is there's not too many songs to could say are 'throw away' or 'fill in's'. Every VH song is a statement, especially the Dave era VH!
Ok, I apologize in advance for the rant but here it goes.....I have been a Van Halen fan for years, and I do mean years. Not gonna disclose my age, lol. I'm sick of the DLR era fans and Van Hagar fans in a pissing contest. I lived through both and solo careers of DLR and Sam. They are both great in their own right. DLR is a great showman, Sammy is an extremely talented voice. When DLR got fired he had some good tunes with Vai as lead guitarist. Sammy had a good solo career before Van Halen and after. I appreciate the songs from all these eras. I'd like to say I'm unbiased to any of them, but I'm gonna put this in order in my opinion....1-Sammy Hagar with Van Halen,2 Chickenfoot, 3 DLR Van Halen,4 Hagar Solo, 5 Hagar with Waboritas, then 6 new DLR Van Halen. Now, my reason for this pecking order;#1 Van Hagar brought Van Halen to a new level. It went from a good band to a great band with much more creativity and just rocked harder....immediately.(5150) That's a fact. They went from remixing cover songs and trying to build an identity(which they did to a degree) to "here we are, we don't do videos, we don't dress alike like a vegas show, we don't have an adolescent mentality, we aren't gonna go backwards and play our old stuff, we're moving forward with a new frontman, we're not showcasing any one person, to Here We Are!!!" #2-Chickenfoot brings to life good old rock. This is what the 2000's have been missing. The 90's grunge all sounds alike and could never find any form of positive identity. It was like nobody got enough hugs or attention when they were kids and Chickenfoot brought me back. They weren't trying to save the world, or make a scene of themselves or trying to set any new trends...they just rock. Not to mention, my fav lead singer, my fav bassist, my fav guitarist(tied with EVH), and a great all around drummer in Smith(Chickenfoot was a great chance to showcase how good he actually is). #3-DLR Van Halen, enough said. Gotta respect the "roots". This is where this whole argument begins. It's what started this boomerang/merry-go-round on crack. #4-Hagar solo. Not a superstar but enough going for him to say that he had a decent career going before Van Halen. given time he would have put together some supporting talent to go to the next level. Van Halen comes knocking......you fucking answer it.....and he did. #5 The Waboritas was a good bounce back. Had a good amount of years of touring and birthday bashes. It wasn't just a flash in the pan. It was a new found solo identity for Sam. It wasn't ever really big but it never fizzled out like Roth did. Sam had a good base and stayed on it. Now, #6. I was really looking forward to having Van Halen and Chickenfoot going at the same time. It was to be like a one-two punch for the new era. Well, to me, it wasn't. There are exactly two songs on that new album I like---Blood and Fire, and You and Your Blues. That is what a lot of bands did for me in the 90's, a couple of songs and that's it. Don't get me wrong, they have some ok songs on there, but not enough to just make me want to get in my '71 Dodge Challenger, turn up the radio, and drop the hammer on some backroads. If I did, it would be a short trip listening to the same two songs over and over again. Maybe a new tattoo but the same old egocentric crap. "Told you I was coming back, say you missed me, say it like you mean it"...no thanks, I may have missed you Dave, but now I wish you'd have stayed gone. You know, Sam sang some old Van Halen songs live, Roth hasn't sang any Van Hagar songs live. Not because they don't want to, it's because he can't. He has his own style, but it can be duplicated, Sam's talent, voice and the fact he plays also, can't be duplicated.....not by Roth anyway. I just want to say in conclusion, I've enjoyed it all. I feel lucky to have experienced it all through the years. I have some favorite songs from each era and every mix of that talent that came along. Choose your own favorites but respect them all. If DLR and Vai could keep making music, Van Halen could find a good front man, and Chickenfoot kept on going, I'd be thrilled. But it is what it is and I'll continue to listen to all of it. I've never posted anything on line about this, so sorry it's so long and I just rambled. It was a lot of build up and thoughts since 1996. Sorry. I appreciate your time if you made it through all of this. Jeff.
Eddie Van Halen lost out when he fired Sammy and Mike, Now the Dumb Shit does NOT have a band, Joe and Chad totally Rock, The Best Band in the last 10 Years,
@langfoman You nailed it. I was going to reply to him but you wrote exactly what I was thinking, word for word. No matter how talented the guys are they'll sound like crap if they don't get along. If you work well together you can make a band of virtuosos look stupid.
Chad smith is an absolute beast on a drumset!!
Richard Cranium AVH is a good drummer but his drum sound left a lot to be desired, and I am not alone in that...
2024 Still here. Rocking with The Foot!!! Wish they'd come back one more time!!!
Grandmaster Satch!! 🎸🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Satch is right at home here. This is the sort of project he was always trying to be a part of I think.
Satch has one mother of a tone, it fills the room.

Joe's a beast on that guitar!
I don't know where I was in 2012 but in 2023 these guys Rock!
Satchs solo at the end was awesome
love his bad company tshirt. shows he is in it for the music rather than the glory.
chickenfoot is like the avengers they are just a bunch of superheroes put in one group
That was the absolute best way to describe this band.
That's called a "Supergroup" ;-)
Satch and Chad fucking killing it!!
It's so nice to see Satch just playing rhythm guitar, lovely!
Love this frickin band! Powerhouse with taste
Good lord they are tight on this one. Wow
Chad Smith and Satch - a perfect pair. On the other hand good musicians playing together can only sound good
Satch is one of those musicians that you will never be able to replace.
Its amazing see Chad Smith play some real Rock n' Roll!! He kicks ass... Red Hot is a Funky Rock that I personally am not too fancy of!!
I love the signature Satch style and sound.
This captures the excitement of a night out at the show..........totally smokin' metal.......you got your crew, a bag of weed and your just gettin' your buzz on.......smokin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My favorite Chickenfoot song of all time
I love van halen.....and this band is great too, I can't wait to watch watch what they do next...Sach has always had the greatest respect for Eddie...and man he could give Eddie a run for the money. But its not about that at all.. Sach...respects. thats all I got to say.
it's stuff like this that makes Satch my favourite guitarist
chad has a remarkable influence on this band. it's refreshing
JOE! What can I say? I'm astounded every time I see him play. Chad - Holy crap!
I saw G3 with John Petrucci, Paul Gilbert and Joe. All were great and amazing.
Paul made me laugh.
Joe made me cry.
I'd love to see the FOOT!
Great performers each one bad ass
These guys are having a great time together. I love it. Great band
The intro riff is seriously badass!
Satch's pinch harmonics made me want to cry tears of joy!
chad smith is beast!
Satriani's tone!!! It fills up the room with its awesomeness!!!!
Anthony finally gets to play bass.
I love how Sammy makes every effort to highlight Mike's bass playing AND show everyone that Mike's backing vocals were what really made the VH sound. "Jamie's Crying" anyone?

Man Joe is so much better with a great band to perform with LONG LIVE THE FOOT!
Meraviglia. Ma solo io non conoscevo i Chickenfoot?? Grossi nomi alla ribalta! Senti il blues come filtra nel rock (o viceversa?)
This is so sick, good Lord Chad throws all his chops on this one. Add MA vocals and solid bass and throw Joe’s very wide tasty tone on this and you got fire man. Holy crap they are tight here. Only band I got to meet all 4 members of as well. What a trip!
What a talented band!
This band is addicting.
rock n roll does exist !!!!!!
Funny thing is Sammy sounds better now than he ever did with Van Halen.......and it shows just how under appreciated mike was.....till now.

Es un gran grupo de rock, de los mejores.
I wish they would drop whatever the heck they are doing (like Red Hot and they solo careers) and focus entirely on this band. They could become one of the top bands in the world in terms of popularity and $$$ too (they already are in musical terms IMHO).
One of the view songs I like the guitar solo better on the live version. Great band and song, absolute head banger!

I love Chickenfoot! I'm particularly happy for the highly underrated Michael Anthony. Mr. Sat teaching how to play guitar
I WANNA SEE THEM LIVE IN BERLIN GERMANY ...RIGHT NOW
I think I hear Hendrix at 2:00 ! But I completely agree with you, and the fact that they enjoy what they are doing so much make this live album even better, you can HEAR how much they enjoy themselves.
Michael Anthony es super rollinga...
I think Chickenfoot's recent success playing at various Indian Casinos has Van Halen thinking twice about Dave and Wolfgang.

5:07 the Satch has arrived
joe sounds so much better after switching to those marshalls...
Chad's a great drummer when unleashed from the RHCP crap!!

Very seldom do I get Impressed..With out a doubt a Fucking Monster Group
mantep,,,cadassssss
At first I felt Satch's tone a little bit different. Then I looked into the background and saw Marshall amps.
Where the hell are his Peaveys?
