- Rag Darbari is a very serious & Ghana raga , slow and elaborate meend and andolan are generally more preferred than light and frivolous ornamentations . The improvisation of Darbari is done more in the mandra saptak, or lower octave. The ascension of arohana is in the lower and middle octaves. ustad Rafique Khan has played it in a traditional style alap and jod alap then vilambit gat is in Teental ( 16 beats) and after that he has played two more compositions in Drut ek Taal (12 Beats) and Drut Teen taal (16 Beats)

What can be a better start for anyone's day than listening to an amazing rendition of the magnificent Raag Darbari by Ustad Rafqiue Khan sahab, accompanied by the very fine hands of Pandit Ramdas Palsule ji. One would find themselves in dearth of words to appreciate such performances! Also a huge pat on the back to Shri Jayanth Aithal ji and his team of technicians for capturing and laying down this performance in such an aesthetic manner for all the music lovers to enjoy. Darbari is a night raag, my dear. Best listened to just before going to bed.
Once Dr Balamurali Krishna said that there is no restriction of time for any Raaga. As per him a true Maestro shall be able to create the mood of that time of the day/night by playing or singing that raaga. i.e if the Maestro plays Ahir Bhairav at night he should create the mood of the early morning and the listener should feel that the sun is about to rise.

I bought the same tablas as Ramdas from Bharat Kakade online.
unfortunately the tablas that I received are not at all of the same quality as that of Ramdas for professional quality tablas...

Poor sound, poor quality of materials, very dirty , poor assembly.
A shame. Even for Riyaz, I get bored playing on it.
