@@danh7411 i was playing in my marceau, i got spotted 10km away from an austin he poped up reload booster but did like 1 or 2k to me most of the shells splashed into the water or when it hits i was simply angled when the guy realised he should have fired with he reload booster was already gone.
This ship might actually have enough Dakka to moderately impress the average Ork. And for those who don't know, Warhammer 40K Orks do love a lot and really big dakka and they can never, ever have enough dakka.
I mean.....that would probably make it worse, AUSTIN HAS BETTER ARMOR THEN THE DES MOINES! the only weakness are its bow tip and backside with that 32mm armor on the sides.

"He did nothing wrong" Well.... he kind of did. He pushed into a cap before he knew where the enemy Austin was! I know its kind of BS and counter intuitive to WG putting cap zones on the map for DDs to push and cap, but now days you should never push for a cap for at least first 5-6 min so you can avoid BS ships like carriers, Austins, stealtradars etc etc. Just waiting to after that first initial brawl happens on both flanks and then push in with more spotted ships and more information gives you about 200% higher survivability rate as a DD.
It's safer for the DD and can secure you the game but if the other team gets a cap advantage early, you are at a disadvantage. If their spotting costs you some ships that go to the caps to brawl even more so. Best for spotting.scouting are of course CVs but what aren't they good or godlike at?
@@kaltaron1284 Yes, everything is possible and there i no guarantees. But playing a bit cautious at start makes me survive to the end in most my DD games and its in the end a DD can make or break the battle. But in about 80-90 % of my games I see the other 3-4 DDs on both teams are dead before the 10 min mark and that's because they tried to cap when the enemy DD, Austin, CV and radarcruisers just sat there waiting for them at start.
@@benjiro8793 You cant ever control what kind of potatoes or retards you get in your team. And im not saying you shouldnt spot for your team, that you must do. What im saying is if one DD pushes in to take the cap and the other teams DD stays just outside the cap and spot and flood the cap and enemy radar positions with torps he is usually the guy alive at the 10 min mark while the DD that pushed in directly at start are usually dead. Thats why you often see 3-4 dead DDs within the first 6-7 min. And that, after the CV is the class that can have the biggest impact on the match in the late game. It was around the time of CVs in every game and the introduction of the Soviet light cruisers... looks like the same ol' bullshit. I don't miss this one bit. Austin is perfectly happy to share the ocean with DDs fairly in a fifty-fifty split: Austin takes the half on top of the surface, the DDs may have the half below.
It's a strong ship but reality check. Only very experienced players who know the ins and outs of the game mechanics and have a high 58%+ win rate are likely to do well consistently in this ship. I'd wager 70% to 80% of buyers will get devastated in the first 5 mins of most games and then become extremely passive in this ship and not score well. So it's balanced on the low general skill level of the average player.
I was trying out the Italian cruisers, thinking they'd be really neat ships if the turrets didn't take a day to traverse, nearly a day to reload, and had a hydro to help with the DDs they're (ostensibly) supposed to be countering. Well, it's nice to see WG had the same thought. At least the Italians get that high-speed smoke.

When you press the "All Power to Weapons" button in a space game. Edit: on a more scientific note, remember those guns reload in 7 seconds, 5 and half with Halsey. With the Reload boost he was getting 1.3 SECONDS with Halsey, so in theory you can get SUB 1 second reloads (assuming it can even go that low) if you loss enough HP.
No Thunderer deserves pity. Fire HE from spawn and just ignore armor with high dmg alpha and firechance? I love to take my Shikishima out to punish them.
