stock here in north America the 6 speeds stock rang out to 7 thousand. things being held back big time. a safe redline would be another 1k around 6600-6700 on a DE motor. and would get another 5-10mph out of each gear. HR's can ring out to 8400rpm with alot of mods.
There is a function which you can change your limiter with. I think the owner didn’t change his settings and it’s set to 5800rpms. My 2003 model is set to rev up to 6600rpms.
Wow man! You’ve only had like 22yrs to save up and buy a used 350Z, so pull the trigger on that dream of yours already lol. My gf owned a manual 370Z and having never experienced driving a modern Z before, it surprised me how fun it was. Performance-wise, I was expecting a hairdresser’s car, but the combo of the high-revving V6 mated to a manual gearbox, driven by the rear wheels, with sharp steering and offering a supercar-like, low seating position (which I insist upon in every car I purchase) made for plenty of sideways action whenever I was forced to zip up to the supermarket in it at night because she’d blocked my car in with hers in our driveway. Edit : After discovering it’s responsive nature, I was never too pissed at her for always parking it behind my car.
They go for pretty cheap , just get a 2007 onwards one so you atleast get the VQ35hr which has 314hp from factory , much higher revving and more reliable and better engine that the VQ35de
This car gives me a mix of emotions. One of my best friends sister’s, passed on a car accident, driving a 350z. When I see one, bruh, crazy memories. Amazing car but yeah, fcked up
So the owner of this is the guy who lent you the Prelude that reached 200 km/h? Very, very cool! Hope he can remove the rpm limiter (7k at least!) and good luck with this new little beast! 😎
They probably did that to not over rev the blower. You could ofcourse install a larger pully, and up the rpm limit again.... but you would just be shifting the powerband up in the rev range, which would make it feel slow again in the lower rev range.
yeah those Centrifugal superchargers want rpm as much as that engine does. Thats 400hp right at the top of 5700 rpm and probably like 300hp at 5000 rpm

Brembo navigation and heated seats, that’s the touring package. They came as the top tier package they got all the beans seen as equals to the touring is the track package noted by the brembo brakes lsd and is stripped for weight savings. Loosing some technology like heated seats and navigation.
Yeah and they fixed that complaint about the VQ35DE , as yes it did only have 290 hp get a 350z from 2007 onwards that has the VQ35HR and you have 314hp doesn't feel heavy or slow at all . They changed the engine so why not put the VQ35hr they would of been up on power right away and than do all those mods , much higher revving and more reliable engine
Let’s face it there are nice builds out there this is an average there’s one with a built v6 engine naturally aspirated with sequential gearbox that one is boss
Just because it says Brembo on the calipers means next to nothing. Its a sucker upcharge. Go buy yourself a used Alcon or AP Essex kit with a good pad and steel lines and your going to get an almost infinitely better braking system.
Next step on that Z would be a tall ratio diff. 3.53 will no longer do justice, needs a special diff, say something like 3.26 at least, i think a 3.07 would be perfect.
2002 Infiniti Q45 has a 2.76 R200. I grabbed one of those and a Quaife Torsen diff for my VQ35DE powered 1976 Datsun Pickup. Settles the rear down nicely, 1st and 2nd are usable, RPM drop 20% which is perfect on the highway.
I never had to top my DE up in 14 years between oil changes every 10k, it’s done 160,000miles now. Might be due to the gearing set up on the supercharger.
