Hi from Tampa. Lifelong Floridian who knows how fast these things can turn and intensify. We’re getting prepared.
I am in Shock on the size of it and how things will turn out in the end!!
@@m.s.r.1795 Tampa hasn't had a major hurricane or direct hit in over 100 years. Tampa is safe from this one.
Proud to finally be a patron and support what you do! Thank you Mark for the valuable information you provide to the people!
Thank you so much Mark. I'm in Clearwater Fl, Tampa area, we are getting prepared. Thank you for your dedication, you are our number one Hurricane tracker.
🙏
Hurricane interacting with a upper level storm trough equals disaster.
That sucker will dump a lot of water...
Awesome first stream today, Mark. You found your voice and confidence really quick once you got started
In Manatee county and prepping again. Sheesh feels like Debby and Idalia all over again. Stay safe everyone ❤
Missed the livestream!! But this has potential to be a monster
HAFS B going crazy
Bruh like wtf. I haven't seen a run like that in a while.
888 mb is insane
@@Orchids.and.Endlersya thats like Wilma in 2005.
Yeah wtf, 888 mb and HAFS A was around 900.
Best video regarding this storm that I've seen. Thank you for this.
Just found you and subscribed. St Lucie county Florida.
It looks like at least a Cat 3 hurricane will impact the Florida panhandle by Thursday. Start preparations now. Water (allow 1 gallon per family member per day), batteries (get Ds and double As they go fast), rechargeable solar outdoor lights and flashlights with fans (check out Costco garden section) and charge them up by Wednesday. Fill up your car with gas and get some cash from the ATM because your debit card won't work during the power outages. Get all of your laundry done and buy a spiral ham while your at Costco (it preserves well in a cool fridge even when the power goes out) Take care, Maria Survivor.
Thank you Mark, I am in Zephyrhills, Fl and getting ready
Thanks again, Mark. Be safe
Surge into Tampa Bay and downtown could be epic. They have been very lucky for a long, long time.
Cottondale, FL. Jackson County 🐬
From Pine Island on the Gulf coast...hopefully not a Deja Vu from Ian...still picking up the pieces from that one.
Im in central SC and everytime the bend of Florida gets a big Hurricane we get slapped here too, so im watching close
Thank you Springhill hill flordia prepared
Most of the models show a very close approach to Tampa, Like some put winds upwards of 100mph of where I live, because I am only 6 miles from the beach. I am defintely concerned that this makes a scraping motion just offshore or just to the north of tampa and let me tell you so far down here, It's not being taken seriously yet thanks to hurricane fatigue. We never get hit with majors hurricanes. People will look at it and see the eye not coming onshore here even though it still could and assume we will get nothing. A lot are oblivous to the storm surge this would bring even if it didn't get any stronger than the NHC is calling for now.
Thank you for the update
Thanks for all the info, always by your side mark😅
Thx Mark

Watching from western NC
41 counties in Florida now under a State of Emergency.
This is looking like another Ida with lots of power outages including the large transmission towers that failed here in SE Louisiana. If they want to see what this type of storm can do just look at SE Louisiana , they are still trying to recover.
When you say Ida, are you meaning Idalia?
😢😢😢
This is life-threatening so please start preparing for your safety!!!
Ida was a lot stronger than the NHC say it was. Down in Port Fourchon had winds above 175 with gust to 180 and above. The large offshore supply vessels wind instruments only went to 175.
No no no Ida was 150 sustained with higher gusts. No more. I’m sure the NHC did a post season analysis.
I remember hurricane Patricia in 2015 well overperformed forecasts and reached sustained winds of 215MPH which absolutely is another example on the list and why it's important to be overprepared rather than underprepared because anything can happen. The last thing we want is a lot more loss of life and destruction.
There comes a point, though, where you know you need to be more prepared but you just don't have the means to. Like my family here at basically ground zero right now (Live Oak, FL) with no transportation or friends. Hate saying 'oh well' but sometimes you have to.
Hi from SEMINOLE COUNTY in FLORIDA. Business as usual at the moment here. Me and my family are getting ready, JUST IN CASE.
I stumbled across your YOUTube videos and thought i reconized you. It came to me last night where I knew you from as i watched you on FOX Weather covering past hurricanes. I met you in Gulf Shores just before Hurricane Ivan, but i'm sure you dont remember me.
hopefully no one steals your cameras this time😂
Thank you Mark!
Storm surge Pensacola? Thank you!
There was talk last night especially by Eric Webb on what's now John in the eastern Pacific and TD 10E as of last night that it's outflow could disrupt the process of what was 97L and now PTC 9 as it forms into a tropical cyclone. This could also along with dry air in the Gulf according to Accuweather possibly limit the ceiling on PTC 9. Though, as for those along the Gulf coast they should be ignoring that and still be preparing for potentially a major hurricane because if the storm can still quickly form without much or even any struggle it can be perhaps another Michael for example.
looking scary seems to be heading for my area of Florida
I'm in Port Richey
Place names? Luve Oak,LKe City are ground zero. Where Interstate 10 and 75 basically join (like going to South FL) are ground zero. Tampa expects the water to be blown out in the morning . I want a word about Idalia falling apart.
Not sure how these storms keep missing Miami. Can’t say I’m not enjoying it though!
You know the look? "THAT" look? Laura had it. Ida had it. Ian certainly had it.
Guys. This thing has that look.
We're gonna have to see if John in the E-Pac, which itself is rapidly intensifying now up to landfall in Mexico, ends up playing a wildcard in the whole deal, possibly affecting the track and/or development of Helene-to-be.
The surge is already starting to build once this system organizes west of the Cayman's. If it slips through the gap without any land interaction, that surge will build up for 3 days over 600 miles of energy rich waters. Do not underestimate that if you live in these areas.
Compelling. Never heard these salient points....
falls apart?....for 6 hours surge of water [ahead] has been well underway, "that water"s already in motion folks," never heard it put this way.
thanks.
$$ on the Big Bend area for landfall. Florida Meteorologists are all saying maybe Cat 1 on the high side. Where is this Cat 4 or 5 coming from??
They are saying rapid intensification in the gulf is possible
@@Advanced1234 or more fear mongering. Lol
Alls I can say is they really got it wrong with Debby and we got 8 inches more rain than predicted - for a total of 14 by me and almost 18 in Lakewood range and myakka - and we are waterlogged already from Debby and August in general
@@echouebijoux Dang! They got the whole season wrong. This is expected to be compact and move fast. So it shouldn't be bad. Then again, who knows with this season.
What about Miami
Mark, hope you were sitting down when the 12Z HAFS output came in...
Where do you see that model please? On NHC? Tropical Tidbits
@@lisawilson3494 Tropical Tidbits.
Will it hit homestead florida
In nature coast in spring hill fl
Are you excited?
Will it wobble back to significantly impact bama coast?
No.
@@markpalavosvrahotes5575 you 100% on that?
@@brianboles1952 Just about yes.
🙏❣️
could this hit Tallahassee directly as a cat 5? it probably will go for perry or somewhere else in the area of the big bend.. that place has been a magnet lately. i live in pensacola so i no longer feel threatened, but im wondering if the capital will get hit
It’s not out of the question but impossible to know rn
Coming right for you Kenny, can I stop by and get video? I live in Brevard County on the East side, so were not getting much from this. Didnt you say you live in Taylor County? I swear im not creepy, i just want to get video for my other storm chasing channel. I don't know anyone who lives where Helene might go.
I think its gonna hit Cedar Key directly, I was thinking of positioning in Trenton or Bell to the north of Chiefland to get video. I got a handheld Kestrel 1000 anemometer for wind readings too.
@@occultatumnomen im in pensacola, but im watching how Tallahassee on models is close to getting the eye wall.
Right? I can’t understand big bend getting so much action- idalia last year then Debby already now this one- crazy
Mrs Mark could it wobbly back to news Orleans
I'm not seeing much westward momentum, NW wind shear pushing it east - far as I can tell
@@oceanusprocellarum1119 Westward push I think coastal impact wise would be worse.
No.
Its already way East of where they was claiming it would center and they havent moved the arc supposedly going AROUND Cuba. I think it hits Cuba and weakens a bit. EDit. Well, I will wait until they find the center when it forms before I panic.
Same, I have been seeing that. HH’s will find the center hopefully soon!
You do not want to panic. It gets in the way of thinking clearly.
Oh, oh, here comes Horrible Helene destroying Walt Disney World and Universal Studios Florida in Orlando, Florida and Atlanta, Georgia as well!!!
🏰🎥🎞🎬🍑
Im in jax fl.should i leave
Do you know your zone? What do your local officials say? I have heard knowledgeable people say those who have no transportation or are dependent on electricity to start evacuating today.
@@Nadine-bv3jm yes I'm in zone c
Helene is about to be the next Hurricane Michael. Only this time, the sustained winds will peak at 180 MPH. And it is likely to make landfall at daytime, so storm chasers will be to document the power of a Category 5 again on camera.
Landfall right now is expected Thursday evening. More accurate info later today as the Hurricane Hunter aircraft is out there now
