People get their homes ready, their families ready, they get the water and the plywood and stuff like that, then when they're ordered to evacuate their pets get left behind because they weren't ready! If you know anybody at all in the bullseye of this storm, please call or text them and tell them to get their pets ready now! If you have four pets you should have four carriers! Don't wait till the last minute and then try to stuff three cats in a carrier or something cruel like that. Or worse, leave them behind. I once read a book by a woman who was the head of an organization that went in after these storms to try and rescue animals left behind and some of the stories she told scarred me for life. Please get your pets ready now. Please, everybody tell everybody else😰

We are in North Cape Coral on the North Ft Myers border and I am very nervous- especially after the shellacking we took with Ian!! And I have a disabled son paralyzed from the neck down and we have no way of leaving dear GOD help us all 🙏

You storm braodcasters keep talking about these things like you want them to happen. You say a storm "looks good" when it's on track to put a town under water. You're "worried" wind shear will stop it from intensifying. Say you're worried about a lack of wind shear. Say the storm looks bad when it's intensifying. I know it's your job and it's exciting but it's a little off putting to watch.

Bernie. I noticed that the ocean heat content decreases rapidly the further east you go in the gulf (that is because of the shelf with significantly less water depth). Does that mean, in your opinion, that the more significantly easterly the hurricane tracks, the less intense the storm may be?

As we get closer to knowing where this storm is going, it would be very helpful to talk about impacts in major metro areas such as Tampa.
I think most of Georgia, especially Northern Georgia, is going to be heavily impacted.

I think people also don’t need to keenly focus on the storm’s eye because as we all know, we can feel impacts well away from the eye as well.
