- Delta Airlines will charge you a bunch of Delta SkyMiles for a Delta One Business Class flight to Europe. But you can book the same Delta One flight through V. Atlantic for just 50,000 V. Atlantic Flying Club Points and $5.60 in taxes and fees each way.
Overall process is to earn credit card points, find award availability, transfer points to V. Atlantic and book your Delta One flight!

I booked like this my flights to Japan ( 3 tickets Business class ) like 2-3 weeks before japan open for tourism, you could choose any date and just now i checked again and there is practically no seats available for round trips. Paid around 700k points for 3 businsess class tickets which in ANA i could have never get.

Thank you for posting this. Really cool trick. I wonder how long it will last until Virgin Atlantic decides we are getting screwed and shuts this down. Everyone talks about it but no one gives an example. I tried it out and found some really good deals.
Being flexible with dates is all well and good but most people have specific reasons for traveling in a fairly narrow range of dates. For example, while I could bracket my preferred dates by a few days, it would be cost prohibitive with anything a lot longer. In the last several years I have attended weddings in Germany and Ireland, cruised from Singapore, Rome and Athens and attended other events in Hong Kong, London and elsewhere. In only one instance was Delta able to get my wife and me to Europe in business class at anything below a few hundred thousand miles. Now I can't even get rid of my remaining 290,000 Skymiles. While I live 25 minutes from ATL, I avoid DL like the plague and instead have accrued more than 2 million miles elsewhere which I redeem regularly. Oh, and I signed up for my first frequent flyer program, not with Delta, in 1981 so I'm not a novice.

I know this video is a few months old but I have spent days trying to get a flight to Europe on rewards points and nothing shows up. I even tried to re-create your flight on the video and I’m not able to get anything. I am trying to go to Italy in May and wondering if Virgin Atlantic is no longer doing the 50 K redemption on delta to Europe non-stop. Thanks for your help.
Don’t go to calendar first. Must go to ‘date’ and then change to ‘calendar’.

This is true for Standard Season, but good luck finding the availability. Delta is stingy in releasing these. However, if you're looking for a flight during Peak Season, you can get a lie-flat on Air France (which has better food and service). You're looking at 58,500 points and $254 each way. Just booked IAD-CDG roundtrip, non-stop, for me and the family next year!

Homie did a vid on KLM/AF a week or so ago. For US to EU, these two options will definitely be the first on my list. I wish there were just as generous options for US to Asia that didn't involve JAL/Alaska and ANA. ANA is *the only* reason why I'd even consider Amex Plat, but I'm not some schmoozy East Coaster Bourgeoisie and don't pay $500/month for an elliptical class in a business building.
@nupe the real question is how to stack up points on American Express, Chase, credit cards, and get those points to stock up quickly. other then the initial bonus sign up offer. Do you have any tricks to points churning?

Can you explain what to do to purchase the return ticket with money, not miles. Most airlines like to see RT for international flights otherwise pricing woll be really high.

When you change the search to calendar, you say in the video to hit “search” again. I don’t see where search is located. If you hit “enter” at that point it takes you back to the original booking screen. Can you clarify please?

I think you could maybe expand your content some with general states/updates to cards that can have travel perks, paired with a portion of that same video with things like this. I think it'd possibly scoop up some beginners to the awards game that may be looking at their first travel cards and what ecosystem they should start with, depending upon their goals and what they're comfortable with regarding the entry fee (annual fee cards).
I have a couple co-workers I sent some of your videos to and they're just starting the points game and I wish I knew about this whenever I first started a few years ago. Of course, I wish Venture X was out when I first started as well, but my CSR is working okay, but their travel service is so hit and miss, they just ruined one of my flights to BKK by changing the itinerary class and not fully understanding that change when changing the flight date for me. F*cking sucks because I needed the extra space to do some work on that flight and now I'm out of pocket more money. Quite livid about that.
My trip to Japan delta wanted 450k skymiles for each ticket. Even if it’s 1:1 I would still need 900k credit card points to get those 2 tickets. Unless I am not understanding

Love this idea, though after 30min of searching for *any* flight that gives a bonus I can't find a single one between any airport. This flight path shows zero results now, and even a nearby Chicago shows a minimum of 105k points. Ugh!

Search one ways first for outbound and inbound flight. The once you’ve found availability for both modify the search for round-trip then book the flights!

Hey! This 50k deal is specifically for delta operated flights booked through Virgin Atlantic. You can book AF or KLM business class for as low as 55k + $250 one way in business class on the AF or KLM website

hello, it's hard to get a flight reward via virgin atlantic but the transfer bonus promotion via amex is so good right now. (30% extra points). You mentioned we should wait until we found the reward flights and than transfer. Does that apply to all flight programs regardless of the transfer bonus opportunity?
Yes! Never transfer your points unless you find the award space. You don’t want to have your points stuck with an airline
