    Well, since I didn't notice anyone else attempting to help you with the Irish prononciation of the name of the lovely tune in the comments I will have a bash at it: Slán would of course be like "Slawn" then Le Maigh would be like "le mai" or le my ..the gh is usually silent.

    Steph, teach them the slow air "Phanxty Irwin" - it's a beauty and not very difficult at all. See YT for the player named Veronica Duhem, who plays it wonderfully, and thanks for teaching folks my other suggestion, "Erev Shel Shoshanim".

    Very nice song if you're ever stuck on how to pronounce words or phrases in Irish. There is app it's called the ( Irish voice & camera translator) The icon is a light blue square inside of it is a white microphone. Maybe it will help you out instead of using Google translate.

    You used the Slan Le Maigh played by Shaun Laverty as backing track for your playback. I do think you should acknowledge this.

    • @CutiepieTinWhistle
      @CutiepieTinWhistle  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Hi 😁 I actually made the backing track for this one myself using an app on my phone. I use chordify to find the chords used within certain tunes, and 'chord bot' to build the backing track, which is a small scale DAW app with a few useful presets.
      But you're right, I used the same style of backing drone and chord progression from the Shaun Laverty version, as that's mostly the version I worked from to create the tutorial.
      I don't release my covers or sell them, they're there purely as a reference for those who wish to learn to play the tune. As I don't read sheet music, and I work out everything by ear, I've usually followed someone's version 😊 I listen to so many before making my final arrangement that I don't always remember (or know) exactly who to reference/mention, as often my final product is a mixture of many musicians versions of the tune, but I often link them in the video descriptions. x

    I love this version but I have to wonder why there are no settings on the Session that are similar to how you play it. I know it’s traditional so do what you want but usually there are enough similarities to be able to use sheet music as a starting point.

    • @CutiepieTinWhistle
      @CutiepieTinWhistle  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm playing by ear, so if I happen to have followed a version on TH-cam that isn't played like any of the sheet on the session, unfortunately it's not gonna match up 😕

    Lovely tune one that I’m definitely going to have to learn. I would say the volume of the backing track on the final play through did drown you out a little though.

    • @CutiepieTinWhistle
      @CutiepieTinWhistle  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Definitely, though intentional this time, so when you play along, I'm merely a guide, rather than anything else 😁
      As there's no rhythm or timing to this one, playing with any sort of backing track is often difficult, so it's useful to be able to hear the chord changes clearly so you can follow along 😊 x

    • @CutiepieTinWhistle

    Or a d Uilleann pipe chanter... Stephanie, I see you cross fingering and embellishing some of the notes as if you were playing the Bagpipe. You're almost half way there to purchasing a set of pipes or an Uilleann pipe chanter with synthetic reeds so you can play it apart from the bag.
