    Yes it is a very very good bike. I had the Z1000SX 2014 (50.000km) and since 2 years I am riding the Ninja 1000SX (17.000km).
    Best Sporttouring bike in the world! 👌
    Especially the engine is perfect for touring. 💪 You can ride in the city in the 6. Gear ⚙️ without any problems. Also in the Mountain it is so smooth to ride it.

    Just got a 2023 last week an took a 2 hour ride home i found it very comfortable and i just had spinal surgery a few months ago! I agree about the mirrors i have bene struggling to adjust them to see as much as possible.

    • @rolandkeith5322
      @rolandkeith5322  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's good then, and in the video I did say for me the seat felt harsh, but for anyone else? who knows. Buddy one of my bikes is a ZX14R and in comparison ,on the 1000 it feels like I am sitting on a rock with not much in the way of suspension or power. In fact after some long term usage the SX 1000 feel like a cheap bike in some way. It's okay but far form brilliant.
      Your back feeling okay is more than likely due to the "Ergonomics" as I as well have had some work done on my back, but that's some years ago now.
      All up if you like the bike and it seems good for you then it was a good choice that you made for you.

      @@rolandkeith5322 Thanks for the reply! I do not do long rides 2 hours is alot for me. I am also 265 lbs so maybe i crush the padding lol. I flashed my ECU you would not recognize the power with flashed ecu completely different throttle response. So factory limited its sad for a "sport bike"

    Solid assessment covering all major aspects. Very good audio during the ride ,almost no wind noise .Is that recorded through the new gopro or a separate
    Mic/recorder setup?

    • @rolandkeith5322
      @rolandkeith5322  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The audio is all done with a H1n Zoom and a lapel mic clipped either in my helmet or on a T-shirt depending on what I am doing. I found this to be the easiest way to get the best audio I can....I have always issues using a cam's mic input as they have a auto gain deal going on that is never correct in the way they work...On the Zoom I pre-set the levels and they are locked in and somehow this helps with wind noise.

    • @rolandkeith5322
      @rolandkeith5322  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I am a believer of, If you can ride a bike then you can ride any bike. Power wise it all comes down to the wrist and how much you twist it. The 1000cc's and up bikes are a pleasure to ride because the power they have makes for a lazy relaxed ride. Mind you this 1000 SX is 110 horse power down on what I normally ride so to me this bike felt somewhat lifeless in the
      acceleration department but for what it is, its good....stay safe buddy till the next time.

      I know about the W800 Cafe but never seen one in the flesh but very cool looking bike though I think. And yeah this 1000SX is how I called it very light feeling bike lighter than a 600cc bike excellent power and brakes very good ergonomically designed but for my butt the seat was like a rock, but that can be changed or sorted out very quickly. I think the torque on this bike is 111.17707 Newton-Meter.
    I totally agree with you about the mirrors - just can't see what's behind you. So I've purchased some Rizoma bar-ends so hope they work well when I get my bike back on the road in the Spring.
    I replaced rider seat with one from Sargent which is good.
    I'm 6'2" so also installed touring screen.
    You get an awful lot of bike for the price with the Ninja 1000sx especially compared to some of the European sports tourers (eg speced up BMW S1000XR over £20k).

    • @rolandkeith5322
      @rolandkeith5322  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dyno runs best out of three from in info I got was the torque numbers and HP on the back wheel.
      Yeah I found it a good bike to ride a long distance on apart from the seat & mirrors. The bike is a fair bit down on power to what I ride all of the time like around 110 hp, but with that in mind the power the 1000 sx makes is good for the task is was designed for. But the 1000SX is a nice and fun bike to ride with a good braking system that is sharp even at high speeds they work very well.

    Thanks for the VID I'm still getting this one lol

    • @rolandkeith5322
      @rolandkeith5322  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey there and thanks for the comment. A good bike should hit some markers to make it a good bike, How it turns, stops, and preforms plus comfort and road lighting. A device to tell you you’re speed, fuel and distance is very low on the list of, does a cluster make it a bike good? And the why this is so? because no mega display no matter how good it is won’t change the things that make a good bike good.

    I'm wondering how old the bike is? I have a 2022 model now with 5000km and the seat is really comfortable and I've done five hour stints on it. I seem to remember it took a couple of thousand km to "soften". Either that or the model changed foam density??

    • @rolandkeith5322
      @rolandkeith5322  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This SX is a 22 model as well it's done 2000k's I get what you are saying about it been new as that makes a very slight difference however compared to some other makes in the same class and even to my ZX 14-R the 1000 sx seat could be far better and definitely for my butt. But that's my real only complaint on this model the rest of the bike I class it as a very nice bike to ride as it feel very light and it stops very well with good composure. The power delivery is fine for its class and a all up fun bike to ride...thanks for the comment and ride safe.

    this bike is rated about 125 rear wheel horsepower on the dyne, just curious what you ride thats 110 HP over that or 235 HP rear wheel on the dyno. Unless your on a turbo H2 or Busa'

      @@rolandkeith5322 I agree with you. The video mentions that the mirrors are too small. They are a decent size for a motorcycle mirror, but they are a bit small because they are so far from your eyes. But a little small is much better than a mirror that shakes too much or is mostly an image of the riders elbows.
