    As a goalie, we are trained our entire lives to get up and reset as fast as possible, Ghallager was pushed and Murray had more than enough time to get up, easy goal

      As a goalie I can confirm this that’s a goal he got back up into the butterfly and set like 2 seconds before the shot

    • @gamingsavy2669
      @gamingsavy2669 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Just curious, since he got completely spun around, do you think he would have had time to locate the puck and be in the right position to save it? When the puck is travelling at 80mph+ 2-3 seconds is not very long. No disrespect, just curious?

    • @errorcode4858
      @errorcode4858 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@gamingsavy2669 that’s a good question, and honestly it seems like a potential toss up, because on the one hand he is a professional goalie, he should know how to quickly identify where the play is going and who people are focused on to help identify the location of puck but in fairness he did have body’s in front of the net. I still believe it was a goal though since that isn’t the argument that was brought up and goalies get lost all the time.

    • @Aliw23
      @Aliw23 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @wolfiedude121
      @wolfiedude121 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@Aliw23 So the question is, is the goalie ready when he sees the puck? As an NHL goalie Murray had enough time to reset for a potential shot especially since Gally had enough time to get run over by a Sens player. There was enough time for him to reset.

    Markström has always had a tendency to leave the net to challange the puck in situations like that. Especially when he's frustrated. I'm a goalie, have been for 32 years. That was NOT interference, because the goalie had plenty of time to get back into position. However, everyone (almost) had more or less stopped play. The goalie wasn't even watching the play anymore. The question in my mind is whether the play should be considered stopped. The ref had not blown the whistle, so the play was live. It's on the GOALIE to stay focused on the play until he hears a whistle. Therefore, to me, this is a good goal.

    I'd say that Murray doesn't have full opportunity to get reset. The contact was initiated at the top of the goal crease and when he is facing the play again Murray has been forced back onto his own goal line. Gallagher is still deep in the blue paint forcing Murray to have to try to make any saves directly from the goal line. Gallagher had plenty of opportunity to vacate the blue paint after the contact but didn't and redirected the puck from inside the goal crease.

    I feel like the second period of Tuesday's Oilers/Canucks game deserved an honourable mention. First the scoreboard clock was somehow showing 54:80 to go in the period (with the tv feed displaying 55:20) forcing a stoppage, then Roussel thinking he'd gotten into a fight with Puljujarvi (of which he definitely hadn't and was subsequently fined $5k, rightly so), and then finally, to top it off, a ref calling stoppage while the puck was still in play to review whether a goal had been scored (of which no, there was in fact no goal) instead of reviewing after a natural stoppage. All in 1 period. Absolute farce.

    Not a MM Fan, but I believe they got the call right. Since Gallagher spun Murray around he lost light of the puck. One could argue that if he hadn't lost sight of the puck that he could of easily reset. However, When he lost light of the puck. The puck went from the slot to the point. You can see Murray scanning trying to find it and finally sees it tenths of a second before it goes in. I'm leaning towards no goal as well

  • @c.s.s.5326
    @c.s.s.5326 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think the Murray interference is actually regarding the contact between Murray’s stick and Gallagher’s heel just before the goal is scored. G’s skate is in the blue thus negating the goal due to inability to reset insomuch that Murray was unable to bring his stick to the set position at the base of the 5 hole as well as bringing his shoulder around square. Yes. All the contact before that is obviously more dramatic but irrelevant when considering the last contact before the shot that scored.

    Would've liked to see the Wings clip vs I think Florida where they messed up a 4 on 1 (attempted one pass that was missed by everyone), then Florida came right back on an odd man rush and score, but then the goal was disallowed. Several dang-its back and forth in rapid succession lol.

    The fact you can score on Ayr’s just proves the point that Toronto’s loss against him is utter shameful.

    I agree with the cross-checking from Defensemen. I grew up playing D and my opinion is that if you have to resort to cross checking, then you obviously suck at your job.

    I think it's a goal simply because, as you stated the defender would not let him out of that zone. He didn't push him into the goalie but he forced him into the path of the goalie

    The league is moving backward slowly but surely into 90-00 era, where any touch with the goalie was a goalie interference. I've seen like 5 goalie interference calls in like 3 games between pens and caps. For me, that looks like a good goal. Murray had time to spin himself around after the collision, I think that's enough time for him to reset. There was a similar play last year, where Holtby was touched by a player slightly, and he spun himself around and got scored on. That was a good goal.

    There’s also an argument to be made that if a forward sends himself into the blue paint- everything that happens after is his fault. If a defenseman actively holds a player down and won’t let them up, I agree it’s on the D and it should count. If a defenseman is holding his position and not allowing the forward net front position- that’s his job. A forwards job is to screen the goalie and get in front for a tip, the D shouldn’t have to let him go where he wants to because he already crashed into your goalie and is currently in the crease. The forward has an option to peel off to the side. They never will do it, but no I don’t think you can blame the D unless they actively are on top of the forward pushing him back down, or if they caused the initial contact- neither of which occurs here.

    As someone who cheers for Colorado and has no care for either Montreal or Ottawa. Got tk say the goal should have counted. If the player has enough time to not only get knocked over. Then get another player on him. Then to get uo to his feet look at the play and tip the coming puck. In over 4 second. The goalie has enough time to reset. It sucks but it should have counted

    There is 2 reasons the disaloud goal should have been aloud.
    1. The defenseman was forcing him into the goalie
    2. The goalie definitely had the opportunity to get back in position

    Let me just ask, if the Situation Room isn't in Toronto, where would it be? It would have to be a hockey city with no professional association. I'm fine with it being in Toronto, feels like the Headquarters of Hockey.

    Steve I feel like your missing the second goal that got scored on boston in the boston philly game. Where (Idk who) broke his stick, went to the bench to get another, and both his teammate and the trainer gave him a stick, confusing him and making him take none.
