Hey Lloyd. Will you be testing those new Inoc-8 shoes? I'm running the Arc this year and I'm betting that the muddy/wet conditions will require some longer lugs.
You can buy Instinct direct and they'll ship. Also, available through online Euro shops that ship to the US. Paying for shipping to return might not be worth the cost though. I guess that's why I have 2 sets of their dual quiver😊.
Big yes to Tenerife. Love the dual quiver idea from instinct. Thinking I could just add a quiver each side to my Salomon pack as there's hooks both sides. Then you also get the best actual pack as well as dual pole quivers 🙂
good to see Inov-8 going to a wider anatomical toe box, they got narrower a few years back and I stopped using them, hopefully I can switch back, 4mm or 0 drop would be better but maybe 6mm is ok.
Highly recommend Tenerife Bluetrail 🤩 We ran the 24km distance back in 2017 - Even that one gives you a taste of those super steep switchback climbs, before descending down to the coast and into Puerto de la Cruz. The atmosphere was incredible and I’m sure it’s even more of a big occasion now that UTMB are involved!
The dual pole quiver sounded like a good idea, but I don't know about anyone else, I need two hands to put the poles away - one to locate and then hold the 'mouth' of the quiver and the other to slide the poles in. Unless the Instinct quivers have a really wide opening and are really slippy inside, I wonder if I'd struggle to put the first pole away whilst holding a full pole in the other hand.
I've been trying to find a better solution for my poles for Moab and Arizona Monster. You just sold me on Instinct's dual quiver! I just ordered some after watching this video. I'll give them a try for the next month 🤞🏻🤞🏻 Thank you!
Interesting to see the Instinct dual quiver solution. The Black Diamond Distance packs have been around for a while now and have a built-in dual quiver system. The 8 litre pack is great.
The instinct split - The only hard part with poles is getting them into the quiver. I can’t imagine having to do that twice and with an even smaller target
I think that’s the whole point Zachary, it’s hard to put your poles back in a quiver because you’re putting the back together? I’ve actually got a double quiver to test out so I’ll let you know how I get on with it 🙂
@@SergieRachmaninoff Not yet unfortunately. We’ve had a very busy couple of months travelling and racing in Norway and the deserts of Jordan. It’s the next thing on my list so watch this space!
We are currently in Chamonix and really enjoying the town However. The one thing we are really shocked about are the prices. We are here pretty much out of season. All the lifts are closed. But the costs to eat and drink out are crazy. We came here on watching Liga's CCC preparations. I dont not how you afforded to stay for so long. Perhaps you should do a video on the costs of Chamonix. We can afford it so its not a major issue. But Chamonix is more expensive than a lot of places in Switzerland
It’s definitely not the cheapest place to stay and you’re right it is more expensive than Switzerland! The only way we can stay for so long is by camping in our little van and cooking at the campsite most of the time. There’s no way we could afford to stay in a hotel our rented accommodation, especially building up to UTMB! There are some more affordable places to eat in town, where the food is tasty and pretty reasonable. Have you tried Cool Cats or Poco Loco?
sorry but the dual pole quiver solution is just bollox, it's really easy to take out or put back both poles together and i never had an issue with a single quiver. If anything having to take out and put back one at a time would be slower and annoying 😐
Not a fan either. Personally I carry my poles in one hand the whole time, fully extended, until I need them. There is no way I could be bothered with the hassle of taking them out and folding them back up every time. It's what each individual is used to.
Vincent Bouillard clearly struggled with his quiver after leaving La Flegere-and I believe he's more experienced than all of us commenting here. Instinct's dual quiver solution seems a bit odd but they could be on to something
@@Not_So_Common_Sense I'm very well disciplined so I hold them vertically when I'm on a busy path and when I'm not in the open. I have the ability to be aware of my actions and can act appropriately. I know it's difficult for some but it is possible.
100% on Tenerif.
great video, always good to look at new running gear. Im running Trail Fox next weekend in Rebild here in Denmark, 30 km
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching 🙏
Another fab video.. Yes to Tenerife. And I bought the Instinct belt because of your review.. Loved his pitch on his kit.. 🎉

I’ll hopefully be testing them out soon, once we’re back from our travels 👍😄
Thanks for such good variety of gems!
No problem, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 🙏
Thank you, Loyd! Black Diamond has a 7 and a 15 liter pack with dual pole sleeves. Not sure we can buy Instinct in the USA.

The variety of terrain in the Tenerife Bluetrail looks awesome, looking forward to the video if you fit it in!

Yes to Tenerife. Added it to my bucket list too 😊
Shoutout to the brand of the T-shirt the guy from Tecnica is wearing, Wildtee from Milan. Amazing stuff, near indestructible and very comfortable!
I’ll check them out 👍

I can highly recommend the Tenerife bluetrail. The 110km was awesome. ❤

Like we said in the video, Inov8 will be producing the shoe in different off sets including zero drop 👍
Love it Loyd and Liga! 🙌
Cheers Johnny 👍
Wow, lots of great content here Loyd... many thanks...I thought those Tecnica shoes looked great...looking forward to race recap ...
Thanks John! Hope you’re fit and well mate 😄
With regards to the Instinct split, v-shape poles design, you said nobody had done it but in fact, Deadpool already had the idea 😂
Inspire ...Best belt ever :) bought because of your previous review .. gr8t series, looking forward to seeing the CCC M ☘️ thks

Again enjoyed the watch, but the intro music is just magic
Glad you enjoyed it Alan! 👍🙂
Yes to Tenerife would love to see watch that adventure, I don’t suppose you know if they have confirmed the date yet ?
I think the race is going to be in March next year but I’m not sure on the date 🤔

Hey Loyd, I noticed the Hoka Torrent 4 is released 😮 any plans to review?
I did see that Hoka had released the new Torrent 4, it’s a very different looking shoe now? I’ll see what I can do 🤔
