As an exchange student to France in 1996-97, I'd watch Canal + early in the morning with my Nutella and bread breakfast. On that small tv in the kitchen, this video would come on every morning. It was my soundtrack of France. So cool to see all the people who made it happen. Daft Punk Forever!
So, I just watched this video the first time, and right after the finished version of the music video....F****** speechless! This is insane. The perfection in choreography is sth I have never seen before! Absolute masters of their field!
That is an incredible standard of artistry on all levels. Should be an inspiration for everyone to begin in thought first. Thought and remembering. And then execution. Beautiful!
With the dozens, if not hundreds of times I've watched this music video, I've never paid much attention to the background lighting. ...and the one squirrely light that didn't quite work right. It adds a nice charm.
The fact that they put those vids a year after they announced "the end" makes me feel that daft punk sort of misses making music but they put them here to show they know that actually WE miss them and want to make us smile and remind us that they are not gone (but its just my reflection). You are not gone to us Daft punk. You will always live in our hearts forever. You will never be forgotten. We all know it. One More Time.
@@Shmynkellbonkenstein From what I heard Thomas Bangelter have hearing damage in 2015, they planned to actually appeared in The Weeknd concert but because of health reason it was cancelled. I remember walking around my University campus with this track on repeat in my CD player (yes, CD PLAYER) because I’m old lol). In fact this is still one of my all time favorite tracks and introduced me to the wonderful world of French House…
Daft Punk has already done all this musical preparation with this choreography, all this just on their debut album, that's what makes me even more surprised. Daft Punk is really unique Love from 🇧🇷
This is real art! Also nice to see the people behind the scenes. They go unnoticed but are a big part of the result. Thanks everyone for creating this. I loved it back then and I still love it now.

The way this Making Of video is edited is quite smart. Small, quick clips with no narration. The only context you need is the original music video and from there you can piece the story of just how hard everyone worked for this.
On the other hand, what could be said in the narration. So we started with these mummys, then someone thought some guys in spacesuits might work especially if we get them all walking in circles lol
Merci
Thanks to Daft Punk and Michel Gondry for showing us the Making Of “Around The World” 25 years later. It’s quarter century of this song. Happy 25th anniversary

It' really stunning how much work they put into this short video. Was it really worth it? Well, if you see the result, you can only say: Yes, absolutely.
Je me souviens qu'à l’époque quand le clip passait sur mtv ou mcm je restais presque bouche bée jusqu'à la fin sans pouvoir l'expliquer, comme hypnotisé

It's nice to see at what actual pace this was recorder. Spectacular editing of this making-of: how they managed to keep Thomas and Guy-Manuel out of frame is mind-blowing.

You got to wonder if all the dancers in this video had any idea they were taking part in something that became truly iconic

Same here, brother...
You right!
Same here.. their music feels like home 😊

I’ve used their songs as my alarm clock for work. It’s probably one of my biggest regrets of my life
Michel Gondry is a genius. He almost mixes stop motion concepts with choreography and animates human movement in different time scales. Love it!

I didn't know they recorded the choreo in half speed and sped it up in post! Brilliant!
Yeah, it really gives it a nice snap and that subtle surreal quality.
I thought my TH-cam was set at 0.5x
if you set youtube to 1.25 speed the song seems to play at correct speed
